He treats you with kindness, respect, and absolutely no judgment. His advice is top-notch, and after a session with him, I always leave feeling better than when I came in. Plus, he's the group leader during our outpatient sessions and has a great style that I really like. He even jokes around with us, which makes the atmosphere more relaxed. Speaking of the group, I have nothing bad to say about it personally. I was scared at first, thinking I would do terrible or that people would judge me. But they have some rules in place, like not passing judgment on anyone and not apologizing when it's not your fault and as a group they've helped me become a much less of a people pleaser and be a person whose a lot more assertive in things and confident they've also taught me my worth as a human is way more than what I thought it was going in I had the worst confidence and through soley this out patient group at the transformation center I really do feel I've made a huge huge transformation. Essentially anything you say can and will be used against you and any court proceedings. So if you are forced to use this immoral man for a psych eval in any court proceeding, especially those involving your children, as you would if speaking to the police. Say virtually nothing and trust him even less. But I guess it's just family the psych industry doing what it does best - destroying the family unit for profit and exploiting vulnerabilities that will further degrade and disadvantage individuals who may already be struggling in life.

He is not someone that will sit and just listen to you talk. I did not have to start from the very beginning. John actually engages with you in a way that is very effective and also very educational. I have seen many therapists over the years, and he is the only one that I would actually recommend to anyone. He has a significant background in numerous areas of psychology and behavioral health, and I've benefited greatly from that wealth of knowledge he has acquired. I read the other review, and I just want to tell everyone to please not mistake his confidence and his intellect as arrogance. Never once did I feel like anything was being pushed up on me in terms of his "beliefs". Like any medical health professional, he will offer therapy through a framework through which to explain things to benefit others. Some may not agree with it, but he has the scientific data to back up his points. He is expensive, as they do not take insurance, but it is completely worth it.

My intake paperwork reflected that. During the assessment, I was asked to revisit past traumas and go through my full medication history in detail. At the end, I was told therapy is not regularly offered, and despite my history showing that an entire class of antidepressants had not worked for me, Asia said she would prescribe within that same class because "she didn't know me." No prior medical records were requested. The GeneSight test advertised on their site was never mentioned or offered. Instead, I was sent home with a self-administered ADHD assessment to diagnose myself. Had I known therapy wasn't available, I would have canceled before the appointment -- not after reliving my trauma. I completed the take-home test and returned it as requested, then canceled my follow-up because I no longer felt safe or respected in this care relationship. Asia followed up about the cancellation, so I asked about my results. She said she could still provide them -- but six days later, after I followed up on June 8th, I was told she'd send them "when she got around to it." Those results were already part of a scheduled appointment I paid for. Withholding them after I canceled felt retaliatory and like a money grab. This experience made an already difficult process feel more discouraging and retraumatizing. Advocate for yourself early -- you don't have to wait to trust your instincts about your care.

On the 3 to 11 shift Tony is just plain unfriendly and favors females. But Tico who comes in at 3 is very professional and superbly respectful. He helped me make a smooth departure. Chelsey Smith and Sierra Graham came in but didn't speak. Neither did Joyce. They all work in outpatient therapy. Debra Gill is very professional. The cafeteria experience is second to none but they play games with the food. The food and drinks served are great but I do think that they should allow the staff to eat for free. Ashley and Kyle are very friendly. Donald seemed bent on proving that he had a cold. No place in Metro Memphis is a better place to go to when you are a threat to yourself or someone else. Kimberly Rickels is just plain too busy. One of her therapists spent 20 minutes of every hour using the bathroom. The same therapist lost her keys so they searched me.

They didn't tell me he's was sent to two emergency rooms and I found out through his patient portal the next morning. I flew down to Memphis from VT because my brother was in the ICU for a month with a brain bleed. He was never the same. Went home after rehab and he could no longer walk independently, had constant head pain, and more hallucinations from the stress of trauma. Ultimately, I moved him to VT a month later. He ended up being shot and killed by police as he had a mental health crisis in his home- he was alone with no weapons. I blame this facility for contributing to his death. When I finally received the medical notes from the facility- there were three different versions of what happened at the hospital. They had no working cameras. I complained to the state and since there was no evidence (not sure why head trauma wasn't evidence) it was our word against theirs. I filed a police report. When I did, the police officer told me the facility is a dangerous place. So, no brother, no justice. I beg you to be careful where your lives one goes in Memphis- they are all terrible.
