Having traveled overseas a few years ago, I was familiar with how immunization clinics worked. Since hubby and I will soon be living overseas soon, I figured it was about time to suck it up and get my necessary immunizations taken care of especially since some have more than one injection. I came armed with my previous paperwork, dates and what immunizations I would need while traveling/living overseas. I had also researched which shots I would need, but they are more than willing to provide further information on any necessary immunizations as well. The day I stopped by, there were 3 ladies working. Two were at the front desk and one was administering the shots/immunizations. It actually happened to be a little busy at that moment, but these ladies were quick and everyone was attended to right away. It's a little "funny" because you are seated on a chair right in the open waiting area where the walk up desk is. No curtain or screen, just step right up and have a seat! Thankfully, they do accept insurance, but it is all based on what your own insurance provider covers. Things like flu shots are generally covered, but most of the more "unusual" immunizations are not always covered and they are not cheap, so be prepared. I required a total of 6 shots and chose to do 3 and next time I'll do the remaining 3. I mean, my arms can only handle so much, right?? Surprisingly, the two shots I did take in my arms didn't hurt initially, of course later on, my arm was more sore than it was painful. The third immunization was an oral one and the nurse was super kind and put it on an ice pack, as it needed to be refrigerated, and I still had other errands to run. Impressive! There are actually 3 locations (East Memphis, Cordova, and Germantown). I happened to choose the Cordova location because it was the most convenient for me. I found it easy to access and they are located in the Trinity Commons Shopping Plaza along with a Kroger and Panera Bread nearby. There's a huge shared parking lot for all the businesses in the same plaza. They remain open during lunch so for those working nearby and need to stop in and get a B12 shot, no problem! Easy, peasy and (almost) painless! Make sure you stay current on your immunizations or get your annual flu shot, you will be glad you did!
