I was there from 4 26 20 to 5 1 20 and there was a lot of things lacking. For instance the nurses didn't wear watches. There was never paper towels or soap in many of the restrooms. On the 3 to 11 shift Tony is just plain unfriendly and favors females. But Tico who comes in at 3 is very professional and superbly respectful. He helped me make a smooth departure. Chelsey Smith and Sierra Graham came in but didn't speak. Neither did Joyce. They all work in outpatient therapy. Debra Gill is very professional. The cafeteria experience is second to none but they play games with the food. The food and drinks served are great but I do think that they should allow the staff to eat for free. Ashley and Kyle are very friendly. Donald seemed bent on proving that he had a cold. No place in Metro Memphis is a better place to go to when you are a threat to yourself or someone else. Kimberly Rickels is just plain too busy. One of her therapists spent 20 minutes of every hour using the bathroom. The same therapist lost her keys so they searched me. read more

Crestwyn Behavioral Health Hospital - Outpatient Therapy - Counseling & Mental Health Near Me - Memphis, Tennessee

Do not send anybody to Crestwyn. My brother was there one night and someone beat the sh-- out of him. They didn't tell me he's was sent to two emergency rooms and I found out through his patient portal the next morning. I flew down to Memphis from VT because my brother was in the ICU for a month with a brain bleed. He was never the same. Went home after rehab and he could no longer walk independently, had constant head pain, and more hallucinations from the stress of trauma. Ultimately, I moved him to VT a month later. He ended up being shot and killed by police as he had a mental health crisis in his home- he was alone with no weapons. I blame this facility for contributing to his death. When I finally received the medical notes from the facility- there were three different versions of what happened at the hospital. They had no working cameras. I complained to the state and since there was no evidence (not sure why head trauma wasn't evidence) it was our word against theirs. I filed a police report. When I did, the police officer told me the facility is a dangerous place. So, no brother, no justice. I beg you to be careful where your lives one goes in Memphis- they are all terrible. read more

My elderly parents received a bill from this institution despite the several insurances they pay for monthly. No other medical institutions have ever sent them a bill due to the coverage they have. The insurance company even confirmed no bill should have been sent due to their coverage. My mother as well as myself called, emailed, mailed certified letters as well as showed up in person one day to attempt to rectify this bill. With the in person visit we were finally given a direct poc , Trent Tanner, in the business office. Several calls were made to Mr. Tanner with no answer. Several voice mails were left for Mr. Tanner with no return call. This has been going on for almost a year now attempting to make contact with someone that will assist to no avail. read more

Abusive staff, medically a joke. Not helpful and will make every condition you are feeling worse.

Horrible place for treatment & they DO NOT CARE about you at all. Do not go here! The food was decent though.

The care given at Crestwyn is below substandard. This facility fails to meet even the most basic standards of safe , ethical and effective medical/psychiatric care. Major concerns 1. No medical staff on weekends. Just go to the parking lot and you will see few cars. Yet insurance charged 2k per nigh. 2. On patient input no medical history of medical evaluation given. As a result staff is unaware of any medical issues such as heart problems 3. Forced Sleep disruptions and early wake-up. Patients are required to wake at 6 am and wait while patients who smoke take a 30 minute smoke break. Sleep is frequently disrupted throughout the night despite technology that constantly evaluates sleep. Disruptions of sleep contradicts sleep hygiene and psychiatric recovery. 4. NO MD interaction yet insurance billed. Despite claims of medical care no MD ever sees the patient. 5. No Family Visitation. Despite rollback of Covid restrictions the facility refuses all in-person family visitation. 6. Coerced Admissions via Questionable legal processes. Be on look out for Pretor...who initiates the intake, locks you in the facility, makes call to unidentified "social Worker" who leads to a sudden judicial order for patient confinement (no mention of patient care, just lock up the patient. You will not be given the name of the judge or can you see any order from the "Judge". Crestwyn appears to operate with little accountability and shows a disturbing pattern of patient neglect, insurance fraud and violations of medical and civil rights read more

The doctors, nurses and most of the techs here, hate their jobs and treat patients horribly. I was assaulted by a male tech and my psychiatrist never got my meds right. read more

HORRIFIC AND EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL Reason for Admission: Benzo withdrawal; however, medical record states "danger to self". One of the many lies. Obviously, a misdiagnose. Duration: 8 days - I was informed I would be there 3-5 days maximum. Service: Voluntary Adult Inpatient - I was refused discharge at my own will. Insurance: Cigna `` Overall Patient Care: Abused, physically and verbally assaulted, overmedicated as well as neglected. Unit: South with 20 patients, two techs and one nurse. Doctor and Therapist visit once a week. Advertised: "state of art facility" - Here is what state of art means for this hospital: Amenities: 1 tv with 1 station, 1 sheet, 1 blanket and 1 plastic pillow with no pillowcase. 1 deck of cards, 3 year old coloring book, broken crayons. toothbrush, toothpaste, body wash, 1 small stackable washer and dryer, 1 tide pod, 1 group room, dated half basketball court, tattered basketballs (5), 1 plastic blow up ball, dated corn hole. 1 restroom with huge puddled water. Minimum paper towels (no hand soap), 1 towel, 1 washcloth, one person quiet room and a telephone room with 2 phones that can be turned off at any time. Telephones were broken and not working during my stay. Temperature very cold and no extra blankets are provided. I was terribly sick. Schedule: Schedule was posted and taken down daily by techs. Never followed a schedule and 6 cigarette breaks. One cigarette allowed per break. Food was tolerable but kitchen staff was unfriendly and yelled. -Advertised: Delivering customized care to meet each specific needs. False. -Advertised: Group therapy: False. -Advertised: Family therapy: False. -Advertised: The staff is highly experienced in treating a variety of mental health disorders: False. The techs are high school graduates and informed me their job requirement was customer service. Staff used cellular phones at all times and ignored patient care. Staff played tiktok videos of strippers to patients and laughed. -Advertised: Meet with psychiatrist on a daily basis: False. I saw her twice. Unfortunately, for Memphis and our surrounding area, this is what we are provided and now I understand why patients do not seek help or continued care. I trusted this facility. My HUGE mistake - please do not make the same mistake as I did when choosing this facility. I was advised to use Bradford Treatment Center and when assessed, only had the choice of going 3.5 hours away for inpatient care. (The closest facility). Due to personal reasons, I wanted to stay close to Germantown and the system failed. I could go into more details but I made the choice and I learned my lesson. PLEASE, PLEASE, STAY FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE. You or your loved one DOES NOT NEED THIS KIND OF CARE. Last but not least, I was asked if I came out of the facility worse than when I was admitted and I said yes. I thank my family, friends, PROFESSIONAL medical doctor and PROFESSIONAL therapist to help me with a new symptom: PTSD after being in this facility. read more

if i could give 0 i would.. staff is verbally abusive and can get physically abusive too. this place WILL NOT help but make problems worse. the adolescent therapist acted like she was only there for the paycheck and never gave any therapy session of any kind, would just have the teens sign their name under paper work that the therapist would not tell them what they were signing for. techs and nurses would continuously cuss out and make fun of teens, and if it came to it would get physical and hold the teen down and give an ass shot for having an anxiety attack. staff will tell teens what they can and can't tell their parents over the phone. i wouldn't send my worst enemy here. read more

I would not recommend outpatient facility to my worst enemy. If I could give zero stars, I would. - Broken trust. - Failed expectations. - Unprofessional conduct - looked down at folks - Name calling, such as: Angry Birds - Poor leadership - Lack of boundaries - Lack of processes and advocacy - Judgmental therapists - Group sessions were without rules therapists did not control sessions well. - Large number of interns were used to run group sessions and were out of their depth - Lack of supervision of interns - Psychiatrists attendance was sporadic and I only saw one three times instead of six. CRESTWYN IS A DANGEROUS PLACE FOR INPATIENT TREATMENT. Crestwyn lied to me and my child, kept him involuntarily -- even though he "voluntarily" admitted himself-- stole prescription medication from him, and left him in a worse state than when he arrived. Then they charged us for "out of network" providers, even though Crestwyn is an in-network facility. My son was a patient at Crestwyn in 2019. The outpatient programs are ok, but he made a statement about suidical thoughts and forced him to be admitted, and it was a horrifying experience. First of all they told him he needed to voluntarily sign himself in or else they would involuntarily commit him. Basically there was no choice. The difference they said, was that he would be out in a couple of days if he did it voluntarily but it could be a week if it was involuntary. Some choice. (They told him this and they told me the same thing when I talked to the counselor, social worker, and clinical psychologist.) "Voluntary" is not voluntary at Crestwyn. IT IS NOT A SAFE OR THERAPEUTIC ENVIRONMENT: After a day, my son was freaking out. He was being kept in areas with people who were a danger to themselves and others. When I talked to him on the phone, I could hear other patients yelling in the background and within 45 seconds, staff where telling him he needed to get off the phone. This persisted for days, even as they kept telling him it would just be one more day. Everytime I spoke to him on the phone, in less than a minute, a staff member was telling him to get off the phone. THERE WAS NO PLAN OF CARE: I was finally able to speak to the case manager on day three. This was a Wednesday and I asked what the plan was. (He had been admitted on Monday.) She said that since he was admitted late on Monday, the care team including the social worker and clinical psychiatrist had not met about him, but that they would meet the following Monday. In other words, there WAS NO PLAN FOR THERAPY AND THEY WERE IN NO RUSH TO PROVIDE ONE. In addition, THEY WERE COMPLETELY INDIFFERENT TO HIS MOUNTING DISTRESS AND ANXIETY ABOUT BEING THERE AND HAD NO DISCHARGE PLAN. THEY STOLE HIS MEDICATION: The clinical staff told me we should bring him some clothes for his stay and whetever medication he was currently taking. The medication completely disappeared. While he got his personal possessions back, HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS OF PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION WENT MISSING. They finally discharged him when I started complaining to the patient advocate. The patient advocate is legally obligated to record and act on complaints, but when I told her about the dangerous environment, how they were attempting to keep him incommunicado, and had no treatment plan, suddenly he was ok to discharge. To add insult to injury, we are now faced with bills for "out of network" services, even though Crestwyn is in-network. Crestwyn is a dangerous place for inpatient treatment. read more

CARI on OCTOBER 16, 2018 1:06 PM My daughter spent a week in Crestwyn for emotional stabilization. Complaints about staff came the first day. In fact, 4 parents had the same complaints about the same female staff on the adolescent unit. 4! We all filed grievances. Upon discharge, my daughter was written a prescription for meds. One needed the psychiatrist's prior authorization (for Ins purposes) before being filled. I contacted Crestwyn for 5 days, leaving multiple messages with staff and nurses, all promising to get the message to the doctor. I finally had to CONTACT HIM ON HIS PERSONAL CELL PHONE in order to get the issue resolved. He stated HE KNEW NOTHING ABOUT THIS AS HE RECIEVED ZERO MESSAGES REGARDING MY CHILD'S MEDS! Absolutely unacceptable. Pitiful. They should be ashamed. read more

Yes as mental patients you are put in with alcohol and addiction cases but honestly there are some similarities. In a time when I trusted no one and was scared and worried, they made me feel safe. The technicians, therapists, and Drs all took time and listened. As in the case any time you cram so many people together, there was bickering and fighting but the staff handled it each time professionally. I was satisfied with my treatment here. read more

This place is awful. They involuntarily committed my girlfriend, who was not suicidal and never claimed to be suicidal. As far as I can tell, they did it for the money: they charged her $1000 for keeping her overnight. As she said, she wasn't suicidal until they took her keys, phone, bra, and shoelaces away and made her sit alone in a room, constantly being watched. If someone you care about is having issues, make sure you want them to be committed, because that's what will happen. Otherwise, keep looking. read more

Literally the worst. You just basically get thrown in, left to detox on the floor until some doctor can get to several days later. I was treated horribly. When I didn't eat they called it "self harm" and put me in the comfort room and wrote me up. Nobody ever gave me a treatment plan or told me how many days I was supposed to be there. The doctor comes in about every other day and spent approximately 15 minutes with over 20 patients. After being on the same medication for 10 years, Including my heart medication, They took me off all of it and gave me a very hefty dose of phenobarbital. Hourly. Patients are encourage to be doped up and God forbid if they give their opinion or ask when they are being released. The staff is horrible, Treating the patients very badly knowing that nobody would ever listen to us. In my time there 2 people try to kill themselves. We lost the privilege of having any sheets pillowcases or blankets for 72 hours. If you love somebody who has a problem the best thing you can do is not bring them here yes they made a nice video, Making it look like a nice place but it's very deceiving. read more

To start, I'd give negative stars if I could. Our daughter stayed there in March for 10 days. We had problems the whole time! First our daughter isn't a fighter, she was there for depression. they put her with an aggressive girl who had been into several altercations and our dramatized daughter saw the latest one. They refused to move her until we threatened to call the board of directors. All but one of the staff cared about the patients or what was going on in there. Needless to say this place. did not help. Our daughter only said she was better to not be forced to stay. Only to relapse less than a month later. She has now made a full recovery. we sent her to Nashville to Vanderbilt. they were full so they recommended Rogers BH. It has been a blessing but not here to promote so on to the financial side of things. it cost 13k for those terrible 10 days in which my insurance through work paid all but $2500 which was my max out of pocket plus the deductible totaling around $3600. We were going to make payments until Crestwyn had a "deal" 25 percent off. I needed the insurance claim before paying this though so I could get a benefit that my company supplied. Anyway long story short I paid the payment in whole as required to get the discount only to get another bill in the mail last month. after calling and confirming that it was paid and there was a mistake I was informed that my insurance didn't cover all expenses. This is bogus because I have the insurance claim to back it. The only thing they got me on is that lie of a discount. do not go to this place unless you have government insurance and can't afford better, even then your better off trying to fix it yourself. this place is by far the worst experience I've ever encountered. oh yeah, I have yet to pay the last bill they claim I still owe. Guess my credit will be a little lower for a while. I won't pay this place another dime for the help the didn't give. read more

This place cannot control their floor staff let alone their front line management. My Sis went in on Tuesday night. Wednesday morning at 7:00 Am I delivered her clothing and toilet articles. I checked and talked with everyone at the front desk, the unit desk, the charge nurse and her therapist trying to get them to give her underwear and toilet articles. after visitation Sunday she still had not received them so at 3:00 PM I filed another complaint at the check in desk. I went and got Sis some denture adhesive and called her to see if she got her stuff and if there was anything else she needed. At 8:00 PM 5 days after admittance she still did not have her underwear or toilet articles. I delivered the adhesive and told them I was not leaving until I got a call from her saying she got her stuff or the administrator came in from his home and gave me a reason that I could take to the state mental health review board when I filed charges against the company for abuse of the mentally ill against the company and staff. 5 days of politely asking these incompetent people to give Sis her underwear and it took a threat of legal action to get them to give her, her clean panties and toilet articles. Today I find out 2 staff members were going at each other on the unit floor. Incompetent staff, Staff fighting on the unit, Neglecting patient needs, The list goes on and on. legal action shall follow. read more
