The food is always good, but what I wanted to write a review about is the exceptional service! There is one server, in particular, Amy, who is exceptional. I always call in my orders to-go for lunch, and she instantly knows that it's me calling and even has my order memorized! (Granted... I am predictable when it comes to my order, lol). Though, I have a co-worker who says they sometimes hang up and call back if she doesn't answer because she always knows exactly what they want. If management sees this (which I hope they do, so they know how great of an employee they have), Amy is approximately 5'3" tall, petite, with dirty blonde hair at shoulder length. Hmmm, we recently visited this new establishment and were SO not impressed we would have walked out if it hadn't been for our seriously grumbling stomachs. My husband is VERY picky about his breakfast food, and could not find one redeeming factor. I thought they did have a good selection on the menu, but ultimately none of the things we ordered lived up to the descriptions on the menu. I just don't see what all the hoopla is about Biscuits Cafe, I think this one has gone astray. The service was not great either, our coffee's didn't get refilled until we were paying, and I think that was only because the waitress was worried about her tip. Well, a friend recommended coming here since it was newer to the area. I am always looking for a fun new breakfast place to meet with friends. The atmosphere was a nice quiet, but welcoming to group conversations. The hostess and waitress were both great. Made sure we had everything we needed even before we had opened our menus. Offered fresh orange juice before we even sat down. I was impressed and ready to look at the menu. Right away I noticed the jelly jar sitting on the table and wondered if they made their own jam or jelly. Looked over the menu and decided to go with the sausage omelet with red potatoes and biscuits on the side. I figured I had to try their biscuits since the restaurant has it in the name. The omelet was a good portion, I couldn't finish all of it. The red potatoes were a little greasy and a few too many spices thrown in. Sometimes less is more. I was disappointed with the biscuits. I was hoping to have a fresh home made tasting and looking biscuits. Instead I received what was probably a refrigerated pre-made biscuit that was a little dry on the outside. The jam was tasty though. Overall, it seems to be a great place to join with friends for breakfast. I didn't look over their lunch menu, but they do offer it. If I do go back again, I think I will try maybe one of their seasonal pancakes that changes each month. read more

The caesar salad and garlic bread i had here was right out of TGIFriday's circa 2002 (the last time i ate there). Seriously. It was exactly the same mass-produced dressing, overloaded onto the lettuce to make it almost a caesar soup. And the garlic bread, well, they didn't even bother with the pretense of bread onto which a human had slathered garlic butter. The spongey consistency and suspiciously uniform 'butter' coating made it look (and taste) like it came from the bottom shelf of the freezer section at WinCo. My dining companion rated his chicken burger as 'okay, i guess'. Maybe it's better at breakfast, but the raging dearth of vegetarian items and the horrid lunch experience mean i won't ever find out. read more

The freezer jam isn't the only thing that tasted like it came from the freezer. How a restaurant can be named for these biscuits is beyond me. I wanted to go near the kitchen to just to see if I could hear the signature 'pop' sound of a tube of Pillsbury biscuits opening. With that being said, there must be a reason I am giving it 4 stars. The jam itself was good and the non-biscuit food was excellent. I had read reviews of other locations of this chain that didn't take kindly to the omelets. Well, the one that I had was really good, but a tad small. It was a Greek Omelet with feta, spinach, olives, and onions. Very tasty. I opted for the red potatoes which were near perfect. This was the very first brekky place we discovered when we moved to Portland, right down the windy hilly road from our rental house. It sorta reminds me of First Watch in Naples, FL, which is our fave breakfast place when we're on vacay there. But FW is more of a "healthy-food" place, Biscuits is more of a "hearty-food" experience. The portions are just waaaay tooo big for me. The Hubs (of course) loves it. The biscuits are good, but what makes them stand out is the freezer strawberry jam. Everything I've had has been more in the 3-star zone, but those biscuits and jam do elevate them. They are even kind enough to sell us a container of it from out of their freezer. Service is always on the ball. BTW, LO cops have absolutely nothing to do but bust speeders and break up teenager parties. Watch the speed limit! read more

Periodically I will have an inconsistent service experience marked by slowness/delays, but overall it has been fine. Biscuits in Disguise........??? This can not be the same Biscuit's Cafe which started out in Oregon City at the top of the hill 10++ years ago. It has the same name, menu descriptions, but it's really just masquerading around as a pseudo BC. We were really excited when BC moved in to Lake O, as we have so few great breakfast options, but as far as I am concerned, it was not an added bonus to the area!! This is a chain restaurant now and it feels, tastes and looks like it. Atmosphere is drab. Service is friendly, however . And the place is clean. But we all eat out for the 'food', right? Oh, little Portland mini-chain, Biscuits, you are A-OK in my book for your uncomplicatedness, your cheapness and your friendly, no-b.s. demeanor. I just needed coffee. And some eggs would be nice, too. The coffee, unfortunately, was a bit weak and blah, but at least it was plentiful. And the over-easy eggs were pretty exact, and came with--holy bejeezus!--a huge brick of hashbrowns and a stack of three pancakes on the side. Lots of food for $8. Enough to carry me through to a second breakfast of leftovers the next day. Also, I'm pretty sure I was the youngest person in that food establishment that morning by about five decades. Apparently this is where all the local bridge clubs meet up. So maybe Biscuits food is only a notch or two above Denny's or I-Hop, but hey, at least they aren't Denny's... or I-Hop. read more

So, this is a local chain that has about 20 restaurants in the greater PDX area. On the plus side, they have a pretty big menu and the service was friendly. However, the food was mediocre and as a previous poster stated, the portions are too big. I wish more breakfast places would size their meals for reasonable eating. I feel like I'd be happy with a $7 breakfast rather than the $10 offerings at most places. Biscuits is no exception. As for the food, my ham & cheese omelette was ok but had very generic tasting ham and cheese. Both mine and my fiancee's hash browns were undercooked and not nearly crunchy enough. I had the eggs benedict with corn beef hash with hash browns. What can I say? It was delicious! There was so much food! I barely ate half. Basically exactly what it states. Good food fast. It's a simple sit down restaurant that has a quick turnover so there's usually not a wait and if there is it's not as long as some of the other places that are close by. You're definitely not going to leave hungry at this place. I had the breakfast burrito and it was excellent as were the hash browns. My wife had eggs and sausage. The sausage was addictive. Service was very good even though they were packed and their menu has just about anything you could possibly want for breakfast. They have seating inside and outside as well. It was a gorgeous day, so we chose to be seated outside. There are some very good breakfast joints within a 2 mile radius and our first choice was just too packed so we ended up at this place and definitely didn't leave disappointed. Our family moved to town about 6 months ago and this has become our breakfast spot. We come in almost weekly and always greeted with friendly staff and quickly service. I always order the same dishes...but my favorite is the brisket benedict! The chicken fried steak is also a favorite and the coffee is great! But I fo want to push the service here is wonderful. We had family visit from out of town and we brought them here for breakfast...they talked about what a pleasant experience they had and how they actually loved the comfort of the restaurant and layout! The waiter was very nice and friendly, made us feel welcome. He gave great recommendations and we ended up trying two items off the specials menu, the Apple French Toast and the Biscuits Sliders. Definitely LOVED the apple french toast, probably the best I've ever had at a restaurant. Tasted the sliders on hubby's plate, and they were good. I only give it 4 out of 5 because while it was very good, it probably won't be a place I make a destination when traveling back to this area. Super fast service with a smile right when we needed it!! We were having kind of a tough trip to the Portland area. Mostly our map applications were letting us down and because we could not find our first breakfast choice we were running late for my son's competition. This is a big hearty breakfast kind of place and the food is the same as other Biscuits Cafe's in the area. I went for an omellate smothered in gravy and it gave me a stomach ache it was so rich and filling. THe only complaint is that they were heavy on the onions and green peppers. This is your standard American diner experience. Large portions and unlimited coffee. I came here for breakfast, no wait, lots of open tables. The service was very friendly and attentive. I also loved how they have different flavored creamers on the table (I happen to be a big hazelnut fan). Small, but nice, detail. I ordered the turkey sausage omelette and veggies. For your side, you can choose between hash browns or red potatoes. Definitely get the red potatoes! They are seasoned with rosemary and spices and just delicious. The omelette was tasty- nothing to write home about, but it's pretty hard to screw up eggs right? The real star of the show was the jam! Fresh strawberry jam. I loved how sweet and flavorful it was. Not the tiny Smuckers packets we always see cluttering the table. I ordered wheat toast with it and ended up eating both slices. I would come back just to put that jam on everything! I go out looking for breakfast often enough! I am a bit of a snob when it comes to my gravy as well as my eggs Benedict. So for the two: Gravy, AWESOME! it is clearly home made as well as creamy and delicious. The fill the gravy with spices, including rosemary to complement any dish. 5/5 stars The Eggs Benedict: Ok, the eggs were cooked right, the English muffin could have used a bit more on the toasting side. The ham was moist. The over all flavor. Meh, nothing special or amazing. Biscuits were not good. Gravy was a tad better but also bland, which would make it mediocre. The omelette was very mediocre, nothing special. The bacon was just bacon, at least it wasnt burnt. The pancakes were the only good dish and moist. But the syrup they give you is the very thick n sweet type. Not the nice light and flavorful high quality maple syrup. The coffee was quite good tho and free refills. Servers are friendly, attentive, and get your orders quickly. They ran out of corn beef hash, which i heard is their signature dish. So i might b back to try that and bump up their rating if it lives up to its reputation. Overall, this place takes the safe route and makes breakfast items very normal. Definitely using better ingredients and healthier cooking methods than an ihop but not up to the food quality and refined flavors of some farm to table or brunch places in downtown and the eastside of town. read more

I love biscuits & gravy... I have it almost every time it's offered on a menu. It takes me back to my days in the military where it was poured over everything! Which I don't recommend. I figured a restaurant called "Biscuits" must be at the top of its class. Sad to say these biscuits were barely average. If the biscuits were made fresh, it was not recent and the gravy was like a thick salty paste. The place was super busy & the service was quick. We came early afternoon ordered breakfast - a mistake. Even though dining room wasn't crowded, the food came barley warm. Biscuits were not warm enough to melt butter. Eggs tasted old. Potatoes were cold and tough and the corn beef hash was just ok. On the plus side: the pancakes were good as was the sausage. Jam for the toast and biscuits was very good and the portions were large. Service was indifferent. Ambiance poor. I can't imagine having a worst breakfast experience anywhere in Lake Oswego. For the same money a much better meal can be had at a Sherries.
