Nice servers. Love that I can get breakfast food for lunch during the workday. Sometimes a bit of a wait for the food to come out, depending how busy it is. Chicken Fried Chicken is solid. Country Benedict is solid. Pancakes are sometimes undercooked and doughy, but I still love me some pancakes. Hearty portions & delicious taste. read more

Well, a friend recommended coming here since it was newer to the area. I am always looking for a fun new breakfast place to meet with friends. The atmosphere was a nice quiet, but welcoming to group conversations. The hostess and waitress were both great. Made sure we had everything we needed even before we had opened our menus. Offered fresh orange juice before we even sat down. I was impressed and ready to look at the menu. Right away I noticed the jelly jar sitting on the table and wondered if they made their own jam or jelly. Looked over the menu and decided to go with the sausage omelet with red potatoes and biscuits on the side. I figured I had to try their biscuits since the restaurant has it in the name. The omelet was a good portion, I couldn't finish all of it. The red potatoes were a little greasy and a few too many spices thrown in. Sometimes less is more. I was disappointed with the biscuits. I was hoping to have a fresh home made tasting and looking biscuits. Instead I received what was probably a refrigerated pre-made biscuit that was a little dry on the outside. The jam was tasty though. Overall, it seems to be a great place to join with friends for breakfast. I didn't look over their lunch menu, but they do offer it. If I do go back again, I think I will try maybe one of their seasonal pancakes that changes each month. read more

The caesar salad and garlic bread i had here was right out of TGIFriday's circa 2002 (the last time i ate there). Seriously. It was exactly the same mass-produced dressing, overloaded onto the lettuce to make it almost a caesar soup. And the garlic bread, well, they didn't even bother with the pretense of bread onto which a human had slathered garlic butter. The spongey consistency and suspiciously uniform 'butter' coating made it look (and taste) like it came from the bottom shelf of the freezer section at WinCo. My dining companion rated his chicken burger as 'okay, i guess'. Maybe it's better at breakfast, but the raging dearth of vegetarian items and the horrid lunch experience mean i won't ever find out. read more

The freezer jam isn't the only thing that tasted like it came from the freezer. How a restaurant can be named for these biscuits is beyond me. I wanted to go near the kitchen to just to see if I could hear the signature 'pop' sound of a tube of Pillsbury biscuits opening. With that being said, there must be a reason I am giving it 4 stars. The jam itself was good and the non-biscuit food was excellent. I had read reviews of other locations of this chain that didn't take kindly to the omelets. Well, the one that I had was really good, but a tad small. It was a Greek Omelet with feta, spinach, olives, and onions. Very tasty. I opted for the red potatoes which were near perfect. The pancakes looked good, though surprisingly I did not sneak a sample from the kids' plate. I will definitely go back this month as the March special pancake is coconut macaroon. read more

This was the very first brekky place we discovered when we moved to Portland, right down the windy hilly road from our rental house. It sorta reminds me of First Watch in Naples, FL, which is our fave breakfast place when we're on vacay there. But FW is more of a "healthy-food" place, Biscuits is more of a "hearty-food" experience. The portions are just waaaay tooo big for me. The Hubs (of course) loves it. The biscuits are good, but what makes them stand out is the freezer strawberry jam. Everything I've had has been more in the 3-star zone, but those biscuits and jam do elevate them. They are even kind enough to sell us a container of it from out of their freezer. Service is always on the ball. BTW, LO cops have absolutely nothing to do but bust speeders and break up teenager parties. Watch the speed limit! read more

Periodically I will have an inconsistent service experience marked by slowness/delays, but overall it has been fine. Food as expected, still miss my local diner back home, but this is about as good as it gets for where I live now. Best of all, I can get breakfast for lunch, can't complain there. read more

Biscuits in Disguise........??? This can not be the same Biscuit's Cafe which started out in Oregon City at the top of the hill 10++ years ago. It has the same name, menu descriptions, but it's really just masquerading around as a pseudo BC. We were really excited when BC moved in to Lake O, as we have so few great breakfast options, but as far as I am concerned, it was not an added bonus to the area!! This is a chain restaurant now and it feels, tastes and looks like it. Atmosphere is drab. Service is friendly, however . And the place is clean. But we all eat out for the 'food', right? It is NOT the same food as the original, or is it just me? The food is so bland, heavy and thick as paste (especially the gravy). It's not terrible, just very average and virtually tasteless. Yawnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn read more

The service was great and food was good. Price's were just right. This is one of those places that has a regular crowd the waitress knew most of the patrons by name. read more

Oh, little Portland mini-chain, Biscuits, you are A-OK in my book for your uncomplicatedness, your cheapness and your friendly, no-b.s. demeanor. I just needed coffee. And some eggs would be nice, too. The coffee, unfortunately, was a bit weak and blah, but at least it was plentiful. And the over-easy eggs were pretty exact, and came with--holy bejeezus!--a huge brick of hashbrowns and a stack of three pancakes on the side. Lots of food for $8. Enough to carry me through to a second breakfast of leftovers the next day. Also, I'm pretty sure I was the youngest person in that food establishment that morning by about five decades. Apparently this is where all the local bridge clubs meet up. So maybe Biscuits food is only a notch or two above Denny's or I-Hop, but hey, at least they aren't Denny's... or I-Hop. read more

So, this is a local chain that has about 20 restaurants in the greater PDX area. On the plus side, they have a pretty big menu and the service was friendly. However, the food was mediocre and as a previous poster stated, the portions are too big. I wish more breakfast places would size their meals for reasonable eating. I feel like I'd be happy with a $7 breakfast rather than the $10 offerings at most places. Biscuits is no exception. As for the food, my ham & cheese omelette was ok but had very generic tasting ham and cheese. Both mine and my fiancee's hash browns were undercooked and not nearly crunchy enough. Basically, nothing was terribly wrong. It's just that we probably won't go back. read more

I need sustenance. I need breakfast food before I go on a hike. So, we stopped here for breakfast. Wow! This place was packed. I'm glad that we didn't have to wait for a table. I had the eggs benedict with corn beef hash with hash browns. What can I say? It was delicious! There was so much food! I barely ate half. I looked around at the other tables, everyone else finished their food...why can't I finish mine? I tried to eat more, but I couldn't. I had to drink more coffee...yup, they have endless coffee. I was stuffed. Am I ready for a hike now? Hell ya! :) read more

Horrible experience. Hair in my hash browns, daughter with a very serious dairy allergy had one bite of oatmeal and half a price of bacon immediately broke out in hives and vomited. While my husband was cleaning her up in the bathroom he witnessed a cook leave the bathroom without washing his hands. They did comp my meal and my daughters but we were so disgusted and upset over everything it didn't help fix anything. We will not be back. read more

Food was good. Server friendly. Pretty quiet. Looked around for another place serving breakfast and food biscuits close.

Exceeded expectations for a breakfast cafe and stayed true to their "we don't serve fast food, we serve fresh food as fast as we can" motto. Food ordered: Strawberry waffle combo. The waffle was warm and soft, while still maintaining desired waffle structure. The strawberries were cold, but not frozen - creating a nice combo between the soft warm waffle, cool berries and whipped cream. Ambiance: Lots of window light and modest decor. As it says in the title, this is indeed a cafe. There are three half-booth tables, with the rest being stand-alone tables. You come here to eat good and decently priced breakfast, not to get cozy. The table setup is actually designed to "flip" guests quickly, a common trick cafe restaurants use. Service: Mellow paced server but fairly attentive when walking by. I had everything I needed and did not need any assistance or additional things during my meal. So it is difficult to rate this category, not to mention that every server is human and has ups and downs throughout their shift. Note - you pay up front and not at your table! Save yourself the wait time read more

The food is always good, but what I wanted to write a review about is the exceptional service! There is one server, in particular, Amy, who is exceptional. I always call in my orders to-go for lunch, and she instantly knows that it's me calling and even has my order memorized! (Granted... I am predictable when it comes to my order, lol). Though, I have a co-worker who says they sometimes hang up and call back if she doesn't answer because she always knows exactly what they want. If management sees this (which I hope they do, so they know how great of an employee they have), Amy is approximately 5'3" tall, petite, with dirty blonde hair at shoulder length. This awesome service is what keeps me (and my co-workers) coming back to Biscuits Cafe! read more

Wellll big ole thumbsaroonie down for Biscuits from this Tx Girl. I went anticipatory, elated at the thought of biscuits and gravy without having to fly to Dallas... However - Ive tried twice at differnt locations - meh... You would think with biscuits as their BRAND they would be out of this world. Oh contraire. The gravy - bleeck! Bacon and eggs are all u can guarantee there. Who can really screw that up. On top if that, you get fast food ambience, and I have yet to have anything but a tired, rushed waitress. Two strikes - you are out, my doughy friends. Best biscuits I have found, now actually authentic real Southern biscuits and gravy to be found - of all places - at the Hot Diggity stand in Tigard Home Depot parking lot!!! Five stars to its Georgia fella owner! read more

I've been here for breakfast once and lunch twice. Each time it was fine and about what I expected. The food was alright and I would come back, but I'm not excited or raving about it either. The one thing I will say is the portions are huge, so you certainly get your money's worth. Service speed is reasonable, again about what you would expect. read more

One star because the pancakes are good but my god everything else tastes like cooking spray. The eggs and hash browns especially. How anyone can give this place 5 stars with their breakfast tasting like Pam is beyond me. I also asked for extra crispy hash browns and received soggy hash browns that were still raw. Sent them back and received the extra crispy hash browns I originally ordered after about 10 minutes. I've now been here a few times times and each time I'm reminded of why I only come here when my family wants to eat here and they're footing the bill. read more

Great breakfast. Not greasy etc. Straight forward menu choices and good food. Casual, family friendly atmosphere. It is usually quite busy here, so you prob will have a wait on the weekends. The corned beef hash was great and their French toast was also excellent. It is pretty hard to do breakfast badly, and this place does it well. I read more

Our family moved to town about 6 months ago and this has become our breakfast spot. We come in almost weekly and always greeted with friendly staff and quickly service. I always order the same dishes...but my favorite is the brisket benedict! The chicken fried steak is also a favorite and the coffee is great! But I fo want to push the service here is wonderful. We had family visit from out of town and we brought them here for breakfast...they talked about what a pleasant experience they had and how they actually loved the comfort of the restaurant and layout! Thanks for great service! :) read more

The waiter was very nice and friendly, made us feel welcome. He gave great recommendations and we ended up trying two items off the specials menu, the Apple French Toast and the Biscuits Sliders. Definitely LOVED the apple french toast, probably the best I've ever had at a restaurant. Tasted the sliders on hubby's plate, and they were good. I only give it 4 out of 5 because while it was very good, it probably won't be a place I make a destination when traveling back to this area. Also, we couldn't find parking and had to park across the street on a rainy Sunday morning. read more

I eat here a lot. I order the chicken fried chicken. I like it a lot. They know me here. I have a problem. Pls halp.

We had such a wonderful breakfast here ! Great food, spacing from others and customer service !

You're definitely not going to leave hungry at this place. I had the breakfast burrito and it was excellent as were the hash browns. My wife had eggs and sausage. The sausage was addictive. Service was very good even though they were packed and their menu has just about anything you could possibly want for breakfast. They have seating inside and outside as well. It was a gorgeous day, so we chose to be seated outside. There are some very good breakfast joints within a 2 mile radius and our first choice was just too packed so we ended up at this place and definitely didn't leave disappointed. I'm sure their lunch menu is just as good. Great food; great service and reasonable prices...We'll be back! read more

I've eaten at a couple of these over the years. They are definitely a notch up from Denny's or Shari's. But not as good as an artisan resteraunt. I recently met my very conservative (both politically and societally) and biscuits was their suggestion. And it was perfect. Decent, consistent foods. read more

This is a big hearty breakfast kind of place and the food is the same as other Biscuits Cafe's in the area. I went for an omellate smothered in gravy and it gave me a stomach ache it was so rich and filling. THe only complaint is that they were heavy on the onions and green peppers. Red potatoes are made fresh and tasty. Price is reasonable for the amount of food you get. And I love the jam you get with the biscuits...although I prefer their biscuits with honey. read more

This is your standard American diner experience. Large portions and unlimited coffee. I came here for breakfast, no wait, lots of open tables. The service was very friendly and attentive. I also loved how they have different flavored creamers on the table (I happen to be a big hazelnut fan). Small, but nice, detail. I ordered the turkey sausage omelette and veggies. For your side, you can choose between hash browns or red potatoes. Definitely get the red potatoes! They are seasoned with rosemary and spices and just delicious. The omelette was tasty- nothing to write home about, but it's pretty hard to screw up eggs right? The real star of the show was the jam! Fresh strawberry jam. I loved how sweet and flavorful it was. Not the tiny Smuckers packets we always see cluttering the table. I ordered wheat toast with it and ended up eating both slices. I would come back just to put that jam on everything! The prices are right, the food comes out quickly, and very friendly service. Will definitely be back on my next visit to Lake O. read more

Decent diner food with good service. Even when this place is packed they still seem to seat you quickly.

Was good for the price. I got the veggie head omelet and the Mister got the spicy chorizo. His had a kick but good none the less. The portion was average. Not worth $11, maybe 8 or 9. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Would most likely return but not much to boast about. read more

Wow. My dad have to use the restroom. So we stopped by and I ordered a coffee out of courtesy. The smiley waitress Amy, give me the coffee and said " no need to pay, just come in for lunch sometimes." I will definitely be back read more

Basically exactly what it states. Good food fast. It's a simple sit down restaurant that has a quick turnover so there's usually not a wait and if there is it's not as long as some of the other places that are close by. Of course it's not the farm to table gourmet stuff you find at the places you really have to wait for but it's not fast food either. The staff is friendly and they have a rewards program. read more

I go out looking for breakfast often enough! I am a bit of a snob when it comes to my gravy as well as my eggs Benedict. So for the two: Gravy, AWESOME! it is clearly home made as well as creamy and delicious. The fill the gravy with spices, including rosemary to complement any dish. 5/5 stars The Eggs Benedict: Ok, the eggs were cooked right, the English muffin could have used a bit more on the toasting side. The ham was moist. The over all flavor. Meh, nothing special or amazing. Will I get it again, yes. 3/5 Stars Waitress: Slow to come in and out, but nice and was working alone to cover the whole of the out side. Indoor seating as well as a bright patio, which would be nice if the sun was not blairing down into our meal. Or if the umbrella would adjust. read more

Had breakfast/Sunday brunch. The space is nothing special unless you get an outdoor table on a lovely day. The food wasn't special either but I liked the variety of choices on the menu. Yummy jams. The service was friendly but not especially fast. read more

Everything that you'd expect as far as cleanliness, good service, and good food; however my favorite part is that their breakfast offerings have some originality, but it actually tastes good. Having been burned by Denny's (I know I know) frequently by their 'edgy' breakfast dishes which are just variations of their same five subpar ingredients put together in different variations I was very pleased with the fresh taste at Biscuits Cafe. read more

We are new to the area and discovered a great breakfast and great service here. Would recommend and will return.

It was not bad. Not the best either. The food was average in taste and portion but above average in price. The service was okay, and the waitresses were all very nice. They did screw up or order slightly but fixed it right away. Some of the items were spot on, like the cafe mocha which is made from half hot chocolate and half coffee. The jam they served with the biscuits was delightful, and masked what was a somewhat dry and boring biscuit. The huevos rancheros were advertised as a special at the front of the shop but were exactly the same price, portion, and ingredients as on the menu which was confusing. We were not sure if it was really so special! I dunno, with so many great options around I don't see myself going back here any time soon. Too expensive for the Denny's like food that you get. read more

Super fast service with a smile right when we needed it!! We were having kind of a tough trip to the Portland area. Mostly our map applications were letting us down and because we could not find our first breakfast choice we were running late for my son's competition. My son had been training for this competition for 6 months so stress levels were HIGH! We explained out situation and had two plates of excellent breakfast in front of us 5 minutes later. They literally saved the day and the trip. Thanks! read more

This place just serves good breakfast food. I love biscuits and gravy, and I love how now I can find them somewhere that's not the south. Their portions are very big and the food is fairly cheap. It's tasty and a good value. I will say that sometimes the service can be quite slow. If they don't have enough people working and there just happens to be a large amount of people during a non peak hour time, service can slow to a crawl. I had to wait a lot to get my coffee refilled several times, but that's life. I dealt with it by eating. Other than that, this place is good. Not gourmet, but the food is more than passable. read more
