My, my, my.This place used to be one of our favorites! We had not been here in several months, but so much has changed. From the plastic silverware to the dirty paper menus, we immediately noticed a difference from our previous visit. The biggest let down of all was the chicken biscuit. This chicken biscuit used to be my favorite of all time, but now it is easily my least favorite and I could get better from a fast food restaurant. I don't know what has happened but this place has lost its shine. read more

Walked in and waited 15 minutes. Would not seat us. Not even an acknowledgement we existed.

Came here on our way to Nashville and let's just say, was not impressed. Being an out of town visitor, I saw many mixed reviews and decided to just see for myself. The biscuit sandwich was stale, the sausage was over cooked and the mimosas were insanely overpriced... $9 for a small little glass?! read more

I am a new fan. The restaurant was decorated so cute for Christmas. The staff were very friendly and we were able to sit down right away. I had the tequila sunrise and it was really good. My husband had the Tennessee peach and it was good as well. The steak & eggs were TOP TIER. The steak was not over cooked and you didn't need steak sauce. The breakfast potatoes were delicious and so were the grits. The bacon and sausage were not overcooked. And I can't forget how soft and tasty the biscuits were and how well the strawberry jam complimented it. I really enjoyed my experience and I look forward to coming back. read more

Supporting black business today. Me and about 35 of my friends supported B&J today. Food was SUPERB!!! I had the Rum Boogie French Toast, bacon and potatoes. The French toast was off the charts delicious!!! The coffee and service was great too. It is no small feat to serve that many people. We had a fantastic time. I recommend reservations before heading there. Give them a try!! read more

We finally got the chance to check out Biscuits and Jams after hearing nothing but great things about it. We made reservations ahead of time online for Sunday at 9:30am. Upon arrival, there were quite a few open tables, but since we made reservations, we were seated at the table near the window. I ordered the Yardbird and Waffle, my son ordered the OG Waffle with sides and my husband tried the Blueberry Hill waffle and added sides. The server brought out some mini biscuits while we waited for our food, which did not take long at all to come out. The chicken was fried hard and was super juicy. The waffles were great. I'm not sure if the taste was a bit different due to the batter or the syrup that they used, but we loved them! The Blueberry Hill waffle was tasty and already a little sweet so there was no need to add anything to it. I noticed on their menu that they had vegan options, so that was a plus. Overall we were satisfied with our meals and the service. I loved the fact that they yelled to us "Thanks for jamming with us" when we got ready to leave. Highly recommend! read more

Shoutout to the entire staff & owner!!! Thank you for such an amazing breakfast experience. This place is jammin!! I am a 1st timer but this is not my last. The service was great, and the atmosphere was festive, light, and family friendly. Parking is tight but still worth it. The food was so darn good!!! The menu selection boasts a range of options that is sure to delight your mind and mouth!!! The pictures do it NO justice, you just have to go and taste for yourself. The alcoholic beverages were yummy yum too. read more

I have visited both locations the establishment is nice and clean the waitress we had our last visit was kind and was on top of her job I had the Rum boogie French toast it is delicious but my date tried the chicken and waffles and I must say they need to get a better quality of chicken it is very low grade it had a lot of fat we don't know if it was a thigh or breast no clue what it is.. if they would fix that it would help!! Please get better chicken read more

Brunch with my bro was a HIT! We share a plate of loaded fries. Then Donald had shrimp and crawfish benedict and I had steak and eggs. To drink, I was given a mocktail of a whiskey drink. Everything was delicious! We'll definitely come back!! read more

After being seated we were informed that they were out of chicken (a majority of the dishes included chicken). We opted for biscuits and gravy and a side of bacon. After the food arrived and trying all of the biscuits on the plate, they were all severely undercooked on the inside and solid biscuit dough. After showing this to our server she brought the manager out and she informed us that was a result of the gravy. Now I have eaten enough biscuits and gravy in my lifetime to know this is something that I have never encountered before. Then she tried to tell us that they used a lot of butter and that was why the inside of the biscuit was like that. They comped the meal although we offered to pay. We had high hopes for this place, but were disappointed. read more

Biscuits and Jam's food was pretty good! I love the theme. The staff were friendly. The place was filled up to capacity and the wait was extremely long. For the most part it was worth the wait. My French toast was amazing and cooked with love. My other dish was a bit salty (shrimp and crawfish creole Benedict) and I didn't like the Benedict because it was dry, but it is a good concept and if done correctly could be delicious. Overall it's worth the try. read more

Hubby took the weekend off and decided he wanted to visit Biscuits & Jams for brunch on Friday (9/3). We made a reservation but got there a little early. We had a little bit of a wait because they were seating people with reservations before walk-ins. We were seated outside but wanted to move inside because of the flies trying to get a taste of what was going on. We were told the only table available had been reserved...turns out, it was our table LOL They're serious about making sure that there's seating for the people At the time of this posting, they've only been open about a month and are still working out processes to make sure that all of the guests are being served. Ariel was our server and was so incredibly kind...I'll definitely ask for her section when we go back! **update** We've since visited this restaurant 4 more times and have gotten more of our friends and family on the bandwagon! We lucked out that this spot is in our neigborhood and we can get there pretty often. It's quickly become one of our favorite places for brunch in the city. read more

First time me & my family ate here. Not really sure what I have to say for real but pretty much the service was alright it just depends on who is waiting on you and if they want to be of assistance or not, the food was pretty okay to be honest I think I should have ordered the breakfast burger instead of the chicken waffles, I like the chicken but not the waffles for real. read more

Not my first time here but it was my first time getting the Rum Boogie French Toast! Hearty serving. We also got the biscuit and jam. Unfortunately, the jam is always underwhelming- due to the portion size- looks like a tablespoon worth. Come here for the biscuits which are scrumptious , but not for the jam - unless you want to purchase extra jam for an extra cost. read more

Food and service were okay. Some food was only lukewarm and could have been better, but still tasted good

Food was great, but the customer service was horrible. It's always disappointing when you try to support a black owned local business and they don't seem to understand that customer service and great food goes hand in hand! I will never eat at this establishment again and I won't recommend anyone else to eat at this restaurant. And management should really consider firing the server with blue hair. She lacks professionalism and doesn't seem to understand how to treat customers. I wish I could give this place a zero star!!! read more

I came on a Saturday morning as soon as the open (I was really sitting outside waiting on them to open). I was in the area and wanted breakfast but didnt want a chain. LAWD behold, Yelp helped me find this gem. I didnt have reservations but because I was there like I worked there I was able to get a seat. I ordered the shrimp and grits. The rouge on that shrimp was so flavorful and good. I am not a grits person (I normally order because of the shrimp and rouge - weird I know) but I ate all of the shrimp and grits. I can see why reservations is highly recommended. By the time I finish eating the place was almost packed. I look forward to trying their brunch menu and bringing the girls to try. read more

I met the owner ,while having lunch at Stackers one day. I love to see business owners patronize other businesses, even tho they have a few similar items. Anywho, the hours of operation need to be updated on Yelp, so call before going just to be on the safe side. The establishment is so cute, I was too cold to take pics, sorry. Its a spring green n white theme. Just an adorable breakfast/brunch location. Like a gud girlfriends time. The staff is friendly. The have boozie beverages, coffee, yummy sandwiches. Had a great breakfast and was happy for support this black owned business ! There menu options are quite extensive and contains many options - various breakfast biscuits, sandwiches, waffles, french toasts and egg based plates. We ordered and shared - cajun style eggs benedict w/ grit cake, bourbon french toast, side of sausage, scrambled eggs and a separate biscuit w/ peach jam. Everything was super good but the star of the meal was the cajun style eggs benedict, one of the best that I've ever had. Doing to try and fit in another visit before I leave Memphis ! read more

I'm very confused why this location doesn't have 5 stars. I'm very pleased and grateful I overlooked these funky little 3 star rating. The decor is welcoming, cozy, trendy, and the location address is confusing to a no sense of direction person like me. It's on stage but behind some brick and mortals. Just go ahead and get over there. You will thank me later. My waitress Kesha was top-notch and unmatchable. She knew the menu, great suggestions, SOFT spoken, hospitality with southern elegance while paired our food with the right drinks. By far, the best Rum French Toast I've ever ate in my 45 years of LIFE! I mean fluffy, soft, crispy edges, and that RUM SAUCE just pass the pot! The Lemon Blueberry Waffle is absolutely delicious but should never be served with regular syrup, just disrespecting the quality of the ingredients, request the Rum Syrup these pair like pockets on jeans! The Roasted Potatoes are actually Smothered Potatoes with peppers and onions cooked to perfection brown edges and soft in the middle. The drinks are unique, paired well with quality ingredients and taste delicious! The ambiance is relaxing, and groove! read more

Food was hot and fresh. We had the 3 little pigs waffle and the shrimp and grits. Both were delicious. The staff was nice and on top of refills. The food was delivered quickly. The only complaint I have is 9$ for a single waffle is a bit crazy and the shrimp and grits was on the small side for 17$. Otherwise it was a good experience. read more

They have great selections on the menu. The food was hot and freshly cooked; merely edible. Not horrible, but not memorable either. What was memorable was the fact that we arrived when they opened -while the restaurant was mostly empty. Two black gentlemen in front of us asked for a different table and were denied the option to move TWICE -to two different tables. They didn't like the fact that their table was right next to a different party. I mean if you saw them sitting there, you would have thought it was one big party. So, I don't blame them for wanting to move. The hostess denied them twice even though the restaurant was half full and stayed that way until after we ordered, ate, and left. Originally, we assumed that she put them there because they were a party of 2 and their policy is to seat parties based on party size: i.e. 2@2, 3@3, 4@4. However, there were several tables for 2 that remained empty. And after a while, she seated 2 white gentlemen at a table for 4. In addition to that, we asked for a couple of adjustments at our table, but were denied. No big deal, but overall, I think this place is unwilling to accommodate guests' needs- the rules are the rules. +2.5 stars for fresh, hot food. -2.5 stars for customer service. read more

I've been wanting to check out this spot for about a year. I really forgot about it because I don't play in Bartlett too often. I highly recommend making reservations if dining for Saturday or Sunday brunch, however I did not like the reservation process. There's a $25 reservation fee that doesn't go towards your meal and you get back within 7-10 business days. I mean I get it, guaranteeing reservations and all, but make it benefit both you AND THE CUSTOMER. That policy SUCKS!!! Anyway, the food was pretty good. We started with the pancakes shots. The "syrupy" whisky wasn't strong...at all. But it was a cute $6 experience, nevertheless. The Bloody Mary was tasty but again, not strong. Perhaps they should upgrade their liquor selection? I ordered the shrimp and crawfish Benedict. I wasn't expecting the cornbread in place of an English muffin but it was tasty and filling. The roux was soooo good y'all! I had to order a biscuit just to "sop it up"! read more

Hwy64 Service was terrible: we waited 30 mins and then had to ask who would be serving us? There were enough servers standing behind the counter and taking multiple breaks to at least check on us. Instead the one man doing all of the work had to take our table. The food: the turkey bacon and waffle were as cold as if it came out the refrigerator. The chicken with the waffle had more grease than meat, eggs were soup-not scrambled. The grits were good and creamy. read more

I was excited to visit this restaurant after many people recommended it, but I refuse to go anywhere that charges me to walk in the door. I was meeting someone for breakfast and the staff (per owner's instructions) wouldn't seat me until "the whole party is here". my whole party of two. TWO. if this weren't an important-to-me person, I'd leave. they said they'd only seat me now if my dining companion didn't show up. so tell me - what's the difference?! if it was a large party, that makes sense. but for a table of two?! nah. cause if my dining companion doesn't show, I'm not staying. loss of revenue. read more

I made reservations due to it being around the holidays and on a Saturday morning. I dine alone quite often therefore when I arrived I didn't mind being seated at the bar. The staff was really nice and welcoming!!! Let me be honest yes I've had this place bookmarked for a while but when I saw they had a seasonal Moscow mule...this won me over. Coming here pretty much ruined my Sunday. It was suppose to be brunch with the girls but instead we left hungry, frustrated and flustered. Let's start with the reservations, shall we? My friend made reservations for 5 people. When we got there they sat us right by the door with only 4 chairs. When asked for an extra chair the manager said she'd bring one but never did. They were not very accommodating when it came to seating. The drinks were good. The food came out 45-50 mins later and not all at the same time! After 30 mins two of my friends were still waiting for food. My waitress forgot to put in 3 of the entrees. It was a mess! I was annoyed by the racial remarks the manager made. No need for an explanation just fix whatever needs to be fixed! I don't know where this place is headed but it's not going in the best direction that's for sure. read more

I wish I took pictures of the inside of the building because I love the design. I really like their design on the wall, and the pictures of the singers as well. The staffs was very friendly and welcoming to me and my friend when we walked in. The reason this is a four star review is because we did have to wait an hour for our foods, but I understand the situation due to short staff issues. Once we got the food it was so good. I had the Hearty Bowl, The Side Biscuit, and the Mini Biscuit. The Hearty Bowl that I had got bacon, pepper, scramble eggs, and cheddar cheese in it. The flavors matches so well together with the crispyness of the bacon, the scramble eggs, the fried potatoes, and pepper. The Side Biscuit was so fluffy and good especially with the strawberry jam. The Mini Biscuits had cinnamon and butter in it which matches so good. I wash it all down with Water and Orange Juice. read more

Ive been here on multiple occasions, usually good food and service but not today (12/26/24). Our waiter was servicing the bar as well as our table so I get that our service was impacted by that. Newest restaurant in town!! Sunday brunch with friends, we did have a reservation that was set a week a two prior to the brunch date. I arrived and the place was not crowded however I could tell that crowd control was going on. It was 930 Sunday morning and no lime out the door!? I can safely say that if you don't have a reservation for Saturday and Sunday, you will be tuned away. I did notice some ppl were turned away, but later returned, so they were able to make a same day reservation. I witnessed alottt of people leaving after speaking to the hostess, so just MAKE A RESERVATION, so you won't make a wasted trip. We were seated as soon as we walked in and placed a drink order right away. I ordered Alotta Potata for the table and the crawfish Benedict for my meal. Both dishes were really good and you also get a basket of mini biscuits for the table. Their butter is definitely not the butter packs, but it's delicious and like honey butter with their own twist. Service after I placed the Alotta potata order was very slow, but improved. We had to summon the waitress back to the table to place our orders and she said " oh you haven't ordered?" "Ummm maaam, you are the waitress and well no we have not." Can't say she was overwhelmed with tables because like I said "crowd control " was definitely in effect! After we placed the order, service was better and we finally got the mini biscuits that we asked for 15 mins prior. After placing our actual order, our waitress became attentive and checked in as needed. I will return hopefully soon, the menu is limited and "no substitutions" on many menu items. I suppose that's to keep the kitchen flowing and not chaotic with a bunch of random orders, which is understandable especially with it being a new restaurant. I like the reservation option and how it seemed organized, and the steady flow of people without the place feeling crowded. Oh they also had live music...warning tho, the place is loud when the music is playing and even when the radio was playing, so be prepared to speak above a whisper! Don't let the negative reviews deter you from trying this place out, try it for yourself! Remember though, if you don't have a reservation, there is a chance that you will be turned away, so don't take it out on the hostess. The website has the menu available and you can make reservations online. read more
