I have been bringing my dog to this location since late 2023 and I have seen a remarkable positive effect to his behavior. He has improved his socialization and behavior with other dogs. The staff has been excellent with him. An example that he enjoys himself at Biscuits is when I tell him he is going he is jumping around all excited and drags me to the Murray Hill location. The worst groomer ever. The groomer ruined the haircut of my Australian shepherd's rear leg cuts, the haircut is so bad that my dog doesn't look like an Aussie anymore. And they charged over $300 for a grooming that other places in Manhattan normally charge $100-$150. Plus, they don't clean anal glands and didn't brush my dog properly. You can see the quality of their grooming is obviously way worse than their peers that I have taken my dog to. However much they charge doesn't make any sense. read more

After researching and being disappointed in many doggie daycare facilities/trainers and not hearing back from people after explaining my needs, I was pleasantly surprised to hear back from Amy in such great detail about their services. I adopted my almost 2 year old dog Ruby (who is completely blind) in February and was looking purely to socialize her and do some training. Amy responded to me and totally empathized with me and my reservations about using B&B's services after reading some questionable reviews. She took the time and explained all of my options and the benefits. Long story short, Ruby absolutely LOVES going to this place and she also loves the people who work there. The staff is lovely and so down to earth and take such great care of Ruby (not to mention i enjoy chatting with them and look forward to dropping her off!) I took my mini goldendoodle puppy to this Biscuits & Bath location twice. The first time, the cut was fine, but the business forgot to notify us that he was ready for pickup, so he sat alone for 30 mins. The cut was also pricy - $180 for a 15lb dog. Since this was his first haircut and he came out seemingly happy with a decent trim, we decided to go back again. The second time... his cut was just plain bad. He was trimmed like a poodle - not a goldendoodle - and a chunk of fur on one of his legs was shaved down to the bone. Clearly, the clipper slipped. The cut was, again, $180. The staff isn't particularly friendly, either. Bottom line, you're overpaying for a poor cut. read more

I like this location a lot. Not only are they personally invested in my little puppy's life, they are constantly available on text to let me know if he's showing signs of being sick, etc. they also are always posting him on social media and even kept me informed when my dog walker didn't pick him up on time. The management and the staff are so sweet and chewy loves daycare. He has made so many friends here and when I walked him home once, he dragged me back to the daycare's entrance. I don't trust many people with my little guy, but B&B Murray Hill is definitely a place I trust. They also are very accommodating for last minute baths or haircuts and will get it done while Chewy's at daycare! read more

The worst place possible to take your dog to for grooming, daycare or boarding. They tell you one price over the phone and when you check out it is double the price. At this location the groomer was bitten by another dog so my dog was shuttled to another location and I was charged for the shuttle. I don't even think the groomer cut a centimeter of hair off his body and they charged me $140... I brought my dog food for daycare and the girl at the front desk looked at me like I had 12 heads. When I went to pick him up I asked her if he ate and she said yes but very little and didn't give me the food back? Never ever going back here and wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. read more

There have been many times where the team at MH B&B goes above and beyond to help make our lives easier. They take care of our dog as if he was their own. We first started going to Biscuits in Murray Hill when our Puggle was 4months old. We couldn't go to their Sunday puppy kindergarten class but shortly after I inquired, a new class opened up on a Monday. Tricia and Sarah were wonderful trainers and we learned a lot about our patience as well as our little Moose. They went over and beyond to make sure that we were receiving the best instruction catered to our dog. We have also dropped Moose off for daycare a few times when at the last minute we realize he would be alone for way too long. They have always been accommodating and I love being able to check up on him via their Instagram and the emails I got periodically throughout the day. I can not sing enough praises for the passion and enthusiasm everyone brings to their work, and you can really tell that they all have a deep love of dogs. read more

BnB definitely capitalizes off the fact that solo NYC yuppies fill the holes in their hearts and the resultant excesses in their bankrolls with pyuppies. It's a one-stop shop - there's in-house vets, obedience trainers, classes, walkers, and groomers. I'll assess the services I have sampled at the Murray Hill outpost: 1. Doggie Daycare. The intro rate is tough to beat ($200 for a month of all-you-can-eat "supervised socialization"; $650+ / month following). This would be a room, filled with dogs and staffed by 1-2 folks who mop up the occasional wee (no relief walks included), and distribute time-outs to troublemakers. Pros: my Wookie was daily totally tuckered out - fantastic for working gals. The staff was personable and sweet. Cons: BnB says that they'll send you daily photos and videos of "your son" at play. Turns out they were overpromising and underdeliverying on a cute, but unnecessary service. I got about 6 videos over the course of 30 days. The greater con is how good the supervision is - after a week, my dog had learned to bark, snarl, hump, and eliminate at will. I did NOT send him to school to become sexually active (says the woeful parent); therefore I would ask that the trainers understand and actively curb aggressive or destructive behavior. 2. Puppy Kindergarden ($350 for 6 sessions). Being a ferocious natural at tiger-mommying, I'd read a good deal about training and obedience, and administered homeschooling accordingly. When my dog matriculated at 16 weeks, he could sit, lie down, and walk well on a leash. Puppy school was somewhat unnecessary, but it was vindicating to sit smugly at the head of the class while the other parents struggled to maintain control over their (lesser) pyuppies. 3. Groom ($65 + tip). Now here's a deal. A cut includes tooth-brushing, ear-cleaning, and butt-gland-squeezing (if you don't know what this is, I'll be happy to not show you). It's no Unleashed, but I'm not the type to fuss over what my animal looks like. She did a nice enough job; I'd come back for more. 4. Thursday night "Open House" playgroups (FREE). From 7PM - 9PM, the establishment turns into an indoor dog run. I'd encourage anyone feeling a little down to come check this out, because it's damned cute, and you can plop your sad self down in the middle of the pee-smelly floor, and let the pyuppies climb all over you, and envelop you with warmth and joy and pee. All in all, I'm glad to be aware of BnB - it's priced competitively for a number of Manhattan-centric dog services, and certainly convenient and friendly. I'm a satisfied customer. My deepest complaint is that many of the folks there don't interface with dogs in the proper way (i.e., as dog lovers, and not pack leaders!) They coo and administer affection often and at will; they pick up the pooches at the leastest sign of distress. They coddle frightened pets, and aren't generally aware of / prohibit dominant unwanted behavior. Is it just me, or is it a shameless ripoff to charge $135 (not including tip) for a dog bath--no haircut or tooth-brushing--that took less than one hour and was just so-so? Went to the Biscuits & Bath in Murray Hill for the first and LAST time. My dog came out still damp, smelling ok, but there was nothing superior about the job they did. Oh, and they charged an extra $5 for "whitening shampoo." Please. I love my dog like crazy, but I hate to be taken for a ride. Avoid this place for bathing your pooch. read more

And my dog, who generally detests grooming, loves to go see Gaspare. He has changed the game when it comes to Squid's grooming experience. This place gets mixed reviews on the interwebs and while I understand why, I would like to clarify some points for those considering using services of B&B. So, why would I think I know what I am talking about? I am an owner of super-energetic 3.5 year old Shih-Tzu raised in a small apartment(s) who really goes bonkers if left alone for 10-12 hours while I am at work. She has been in puppy day care since she was 3 months old and this is our third daycare (our first place only catered to puppies, the second one was the fabulous K9 Playtime in San Francisco that we were sad to leave.) We have joined B&B about a month ago, shortly after moving to NY. I have toured the facilities and took my dog to the evening play group before committing to the day care services. The place and services of B&B are great for the money we're paying. However, there are things that are important to understand: Yes, your dog WOULD get more attention if you hired a personal doggy nanny. Yes, your dog MIGHT come home with a scratch -- these are dogs. They play and they use teeth/nails from time to time -- it is physically impossible to prevent all of them short of putting dogs in solitary cages. You would not want that, would you? Yes, the place vaguely smells of dog pee and cleaning solutions -- they have 40+ dogs inside every day and no matter how quickly all messes are cleaned up, it is also statistically impossible for the location not to smell like dogs. Go hire yourself a butler in white gloves if you don't understand this point. Yes, your dog MIGHT catch a cold from another dog, just like your kids can pick something up at school, just like you can pick up something at work. B&B can try minimize this exposure but they're not able to prevent it 100%. But look at the bright side -- your puppy is happy playing with her/his pals all day. The workers do truly seem to care about the fuzzy ones ( at least the ones at my location -- Murray Hill). Just don't forget that for the money you're paying, these folks are not there for the riches but for the love. Your dog is supervised, they have groomers and vet on staff, so you don't have to feel nervous/guilty that you abandon your best friend for 10 hours of every day bored in the apartment. Finally, just a couple of things I wish they could do better -- the sales pressure is high until you buy a package (I understand why they do it but it is still annoying). Also, i wish the space was a little bigger so they can put some day beds into the playing rooms for the dogs to rest and give them some toys to play with. I was told that dogs have aggression issues if the toys are introduced, but I think with proper training and supervision this can be managed. Bottom line -- we're long term clients. You will like it too if you have realistic expectations. And if not, good luck finding that doggy butler! read more

My normal dog groomer was unavailable before my week vacation and I needed to wash my baby (English Bulldog) before I dropped him off with a dogsitter. Biscuits & Bath was incredibly accommodating. They didn't make me feel like a crazy person for stating all of my dogs needs. For one, he needs to not be in a cage because he has a terrible nervous habit of trying to itch his face off on the bars. B&B went out of their way to make sure that my baby was taken care of the way that he needed. Margie was super sweet and made me feel more comfortable and the groomer did an excellent job! I have been going to B&B for 10+ years with my dog who passed last year and have had great service. This review is for my puppy. Got my dog groomed there, she looks great! She seemed fine after, but 5 hours for a small dog to get shaved is insane! As well, in two days I received 10 promotional emails from B&B. Unsubscribed, but 10 emails in 2 days is insane! I always felt extremely comfortable leaving Leroy at Biscuits. All health issues were treated with urgency and were followed throw in a thorough and timely manner. Erin, Nicole, Casey, Josh, Amy, the vets and the rest of the crew were just fantastic to Leroy and I. Most importantly, Leroy always tried to pull me down the street when he saw Biscuits and he'd come home exhausted from a day of playing with his friends when the day was over. We'll miss Biscuits when we move out of NYC but highly recommend it to anyone looking for a home for their dog when they are at work or on the move. read more

STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!! My profile picture explains it all! I own a German Shepherd puppy which we regrettably decided to leave with this establishment. We purchased their introductory package for the month of December for $326, and after the 4th day of use my wife gets a phone call at work telling her they found our puppy with a TORN, BLEEDING EAR. This place has a vet on site and to add insult to injury they charged our credit card AGAIN, over $300 for stitches and vet charges. Not to mention the injury was so bad that they had to sedate the poor guy. Our German Shepherd's right ear is NOW SCARRED FOR LIFE. To this day they do not have any explanation why and how this happened. They refuse to show us the surveillance video. They tell us the video shows nothing. For all we know this injury could've been caused by one of the employees and not another dog. Who knows, if they, who are in charge of supervising your dog, don't know then its open to all sorts of speculation. We were told they FOUND him like that! Come to think of it. its really no different than some stranger finding your dog bleeding from his ear roaming around in the streets. Why did we hire them for their services? We paid to have our dog supervised, and the least they could do is have an explanation as to HOW this happened. All they know how to do is bring up the injury waiver that every customer has to sign. The waiver only holds if they know HOW your dog was injured and in this case no one at this godforsaken establishment knows how our dog had his ear torn and became scarred for life. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS! Your dog is not safe here and if something does happen to your dog, they'll be quick to charge your credit card for THEIR NEGLIGENCE, waive the waiver in your face, and tell you "oh well this happens when it comes to dogs". I'll be more than glad to share pictures of our dog's injury if anyone cares to see or needs as proof. When we asked the employees at the local chain pet store, they all told us to stay away from B&B, now we know why. STAY AWAY IF YOU LOVE AND CARE FOR YOUR DOG! read more

I really like the people that work there. My chihuahua mix is always excited when I bring her in. That is really my gauge. They have alot of different services besides day care. It is expensive but it is worth it to socialize my dog and give her some extra stimulation. I use B & B as an addition to my personal dog care routine. Our French Bulldog, Bear, has been going to Biscuits & Bath (Murray Hill location) for 3 years now - since he was 6 months old. He goes to daycare MWF and a staff member picks him up and drops him off at our apartment. Any doggy daycare is an investment, but B&B is truly the best investment you can make for your dog. The staff members are so incredibly kind, and truly take care of your dog as if it were their own. I will always be the dog mom that worries, but I have never had to worry about Bear when he's at B&B. Bear is seriously the happiest dog, and I owe that in part to our friends at B&B. Our rescued Yorkie, Xena, strolled into Biscuits and Bath for some doggie day care last week. We had never left her with anyone in the six months we've had her because Xena was a puppy mill dog, had never been socialized with other dogs, and was still nervous around people other than us. The staff member who greeted us instantly read her body language and picked her up and held her while he talked to me and took her information. He then inserted her into the (constantly) supervised play group where another staff member stood over her protectively until she seemed able to integrate herself with the other dogs. I watched for 20 minutes while Xena alternated between apprehensive watching and tentative playing, and when I returned a few hours later, Xena was a different dog, interacting with the rest of the pack and seeming to have a wonderful time. We brought her back the following day to take advantage of her new found confidence and she again seemed to have a good time. Best of all, we discovered that the first three play dates, if they fall within a 7-day period, are free. Xena is back there again today and we look forward to using B&B for babysitting when we have to go out of town for a day next week, and to give us peace of mind when we finally take advantage of the chance to go out for dinner at our leisure. Altogether, our experience, although limited, has been overwhelmingly positive, and I have no problem recommending Biscuits & Bath to everyone. read more

This place has taken amazing care of my puppy and helped turn her into the amazing little dog she is today. Short version: my experience with classes, puppy play group, day care and boarding have all been excellent and I would highly recommend B&B (Murray Hill location) and Erica Wittenberg. Long version follows: I was referred by a neighbor only a few weeks after my husband and I got our puppy. Once she was old enough to be socialized we took her to the free puppy play group. I was truly amazed. I expected total chaos (and to be fair there is a lot of puppy craziness) but there were always staff members supervising, making sure no one got too rough or too loud and encouraging shy puppies (like mine was at first) to play with the calmer and gentler dogs. I credit B&B with a lot of my puppy's good socialization skills. My husband and I decided to take a puppy Pre-K training class as well. Again, I was amazed. There were only 4-5 other dogs in our class at any one session, so our dog got a ton of individual attention. The instructor, Erica Wittenberg, I cannot recommend more highly. She was patient with all the dogs and all the owners. Every dog learned all the basics and seemed happy doing it. Our friends were amazed that our puppy could do tricks as well as sit and stay at such a young age. We also send our puppy to day care about 2 days a week. It is a life saver. The puppy loves to go, she cannot wait to play with all her friends. The staff is incredibly attentive and loving. Everyone recognizes her on sight and she is always happy to see them. They have also been great with separating her for a short time if she got overwhelmed or over-excited. We have boarded her there once for 3 days and the experience was equally good. They gave us progress reports and took great care of her. My only complaint is I wish it was a little cheaper, but it is no more than any similar place in the area, so I really shouldn't gripe. read more

Let me start by saying I have been using B&B for years now and have been somewhat satisfied with their treatment as far as boarding goes. I have a male Boxer and well, they are very high energy so the play time definitely helps wear him out. The reason for this post is from a recent boarding I had with them and their horrible treatment of a situation that occurred, and while I am at it I might as well mention some other issues that i had previously let slide, but no longer as I'm I boarded my 6 1/2 year old Boxer there while i went away on a business trip. As i was at the airport to return I received a call from B&B stating that my dog had been in a fight but that it was nothing serious and just some superficial scratches were inflicted on both sides of the scuffle. 30 minutes later i received a second call from the B&B vet stating she had checked Marley out and the wounds were superficial and that they applied ointment and prescribed some antibiotics just in case. Um, OK, I thought that you told me it was no big deal, why the need to have my guy checked out by a vet and for antibiotics to be issued??? Alright - I was at the airport and figured i would asses the situation when i got home later that evening. I had set for a friend to pick him up and for Marley to hang at her place until I got in town since I wasn't going to get home till midnight. When i arrived at her apartment my lovable high energy boxer did not even get off the floor to great me but instead just turned his head barely acknowledged me. I went to him and as soon as I hugged him he started yelping in pain! I examined him and found approximately 8-10 puncture wounds on his front right leg and armpit as well as shoulder blade! in addition his leg was visible swollen and he yelped every time any pressure was placed on it. Minor wounds my ass!!! Here is my 65 lb boxer in very visible pain and discomfort! It broke my heart to see my strong healthy 6 1/2 yr old Boxer in such discomfort that he wasn't acting himself! I took him home and brought him to my vet in the morning, they did in fact confirm that the wounds were not very deep, and for him to rest and stay on antibiotics. My vet tried to get vaccination records from B&B but could not get a straight answer on dates several times, nor could I after several attempts. After informing B&B I was very upset over incident they simply stated that these things happen and that they are still charging me in full for boarding. I paid ~$75 a day to watch my dog and this happens and this is how you treat me! This is bullshit! Never Again! Over the years I have had other dog owner around the city warn me about B&B but I always just thought they were being too sensitive so I kept using them. But now, for me to return home from a business trip and find my 65LB boxer with multiple puncture wounds, in serious pain, and then for them to treat me and the incident like it is no big deal is just unacceptable to me. I am paying you good money to watch my loved one while I am away and this is what I get for my money!!?? Matter of fact, the following day I had to call B&B to follow up and inform them I was very unhappy about the incident and that I wanted to talk to someone senior. The manager Sam G. didn't even call me back until the next day, and when he did it was the same response, "these things happen". Bullshit, I am paying you good money to ensure that these things DO NOT happen!! I consider B&B unprofessional, unsafe, and seriously lacking in customer service! In addition from a previous visit my dog received bad kennel cough from the place. On a separate boarding visit when I picked up my boxer he looked so skinny that i was concerned he was ill!!! If you expect to come home to a happy healthy best friend this is not the place to go. read more

If you love your pet, please read this before you consider using Biscuits & Bath. Last Saturday, 09/27, I was walking by B&B with my boyfriend. I always peer in because I love animals and also because we thought about putting our chihuahua in daycare there. Well, while I was walking by, out of the corner of my eye, I saw one of the employees wind back his leg and kick a small brown/black puppy in the stomach. This dog was no more than 8lbs and was shaking in the corner. My first reaction was to scream - and when the employee heard me through their glass windows, he tried to casually walk away (while the puppy still shook in the corner). I immediately ran in and pointed out the person to whoever was at the front desk. He was obviously surprised and immediately went to go talk to his co-worker (the one who kicked the dog). I was so mad that I had to leave, but looking back, I wish I would have stayed and made sure I told the dog's owner. Anyway, while I appreciate that the man I told at the front desk took immediate action, I would not be shocked if his colleague was still working there. If you have a puppy, please please please do not keep them with B&B. They clearly are not selective about their employees and must not give 2 sh*ts about the pets. Just thinking about that poor shaking puppy now makes me upset. read more

Horrible! I should report Biscuits and Bath for animal abuse! In September I dropped my miniature poodle off to be groomed, I briefly met the groomer and the receptionist informed me my dog's grooming would take longer than usual since the groomer was especially busy that day. I let her know that was not a problem, and returned to pick him up once the receptionist called to let me know he was ready. Once home, I began to notice the "whites" of his eyes were blood red. Both eyes were so bloodshot there wasn't a spot of white to be seen; it was painful to look at. Concerned for his health, but before jumping to any conclusions, I made an appointment with the vet to check out his eyes. I took my dog to be examined by the vet and was shocked and horrified when I was told his blood red eyes were caused from being muzzled (most likely in an ill-fitting muzzle) that was repeatedly banging into the corners of his eyes, causing pressure and severe redness and inflammation (similar to a human getting punched and getting a black eye). I was extremely disturbed and angered to hear this news, I was under the impression I was taking my dog to a top notch dog spa, yet he came home looking like he'd been involved in a street fight. Perhaps if the groomer hadn't been so "busy" and possibly overbooked, he could have taken the time to groom my dog carefully, gently and slowly, and therefore a muzzle wouldn't have been needed. This type of care I wouldn't even expect from a bargain price dog groomer, let alone a grooming session I paid $140 (+ tip) for. This incident happened several months ago, Biscuits and Bath was notified about what happened and had no explanation or apology for what happened to my dog. I've noticed this place getting tons of flack and I'm not sure why. Maybe a couple people are trying to run a smear campaign against it, I don't know? Anyway, my dog has gone there for day care a couple of times and has gotten groomed there. Each time, he seems extremely excited to be there and wags his tail from the moment he enters. The staff scratches his belly and gives him treats and seems to be attentive to him. They take pictures of the dogs through out the day and my dog seemed to be "dog smiling" in many of the pictures. My dog has been through a lot and was at a kill shelter and was a little distrusting of others at first and can be aggressive if he's treated badly. However, he wasn't ever aggressive towards anyone there and I never heard of him biting anyone or growling on any reports. The people who work there seem very caring and friendly. But I mean I don't think they pay very well there and I'm sure the customers are ridiculously demanding... I think people have to remember that these are DOGS. They are not children! You do sign a waiver when you enter because animals do get sick and pass it along, animals do bite one another....they're ANIMALS you guys. There was also a complaint about dehydration, but my dog never showed any signs of it. When he returned from the shelter, he drank and drank and drank and was dehydrated. When he returned from Biscuits and Bath after day care, he drank a little bit, but mostly just wanted to sleep because he'd had a fun day! The allegations about dogs being placed in driers too long seems ridiculous as well. My dog was groomed at PetCo and it took them 3 hours and he was one of two dogs there with two groomers. When he was groomed at Biscuits and Bath, he was ready in 1.5 hours. They informed me of a possible infection in his ears as well and seemed to really care about my dog. They are a tad pricey, but I do trust my dog there. I don't like to board my dog anywhere just because it's expensive and he usually comes with me or stays with a friend, so I can't speak to the boarding experiences. Also the allegations that the day care workers smoke pot at lunch break seems a little too...hyper. I kind of take the attitude that I don't really mind because they're dogs, not children. As long as they're not getting my dog high or something, then it's fine. My dog went to day care for a promotion though, so I don't think I would ever actually pay to take him to day care.... We try to get socialization in from their small dog play group and the doggie run. read more

I have been using the Murray Hill B&B for almost a year now. Alejandro, my Chihuahua mix senior citizen goes everyday for daycare - and loves it. Everyone there treats him with such care and they completely understand his old-man quirks. E.g., he is not all that interested in playing with the other dogs, he mostly just a nice bed and cuddles throughout the day. Everyday when we arrive he can't wait to get in the door and then does his tail-wagging wiggle-butt run to greet all the ladies. NEVER take your dog here!!!! I saw a dog walker from BIscuits & Bath lose a dog today on 2nd ave and almost get hit by a cab. The dog kept running down 2nd ave into traffic, who knows if the dog survived. This company is extremely wreckless and they should be out of business. read more

Our pooch came home a few nights ago with an adorable holiday scarf, which is indicative of the kind of personal care he has received at the 33rd/3rd Biscuits and Bath location for the past few months. Our dog spent his days this summer at BB as we prepared to move into a new home. He received excellent care and lots of individual attention throughout. We received emails several times a week during the day with updates and photos of our dog in action with new friends he met, quite a feat for a fiercely independent Chihuahua. The staff also paid close attention to our dog's health and even minor changes in temperament. And best of all, he always came home tuckered out, ready for a good night's sleep. Even though we have moved out of the city, we continue to bring our pooch in periodically so that he can meet up with his friends at BB, dogs and humans alike! read more

I've been using Biscuits and Bath's services since I brought my dog Bogart home in December. We started out with dog walking service but soon learned that Bogart has some separation anxiety problems and have since enrolled him in full time daycare while we work to make him more comfortable being alone. We've been using their in home training services to work on the separation anxiety and hope to have him down to 3 days of daycare in a few months. Their trainers have been amazing! Always willing to talk to me on the phone or answer questions via email. You get the feeling that the REALLY care about your dog. I don't plan on taking him out of daycare completely because I think it's great for him to play and socialize with other dogs during the day. Bogart can be a handful - to say the least - he is a large excitable dog who can be a little too excitable for certain dogs. This means that sometimes he does spend time in time out if there isn't another dog that matches his play style around. The staff has been amazing in indentifying dogs that Bogart plays well with and making sure they get time together. And of course dogs will be dogs. They fight, they spread germs, they don't always get along with every dog they meet. It's like having a kid, you have to communicate with the people watching them all day. I feel like my husband and I have really developed a relationship with Biscuits and Bath's staff - from the handlers, to the trainers, to the customer service and front desk staff - and we really appreciate everything they do for us. read more

For anyone reading this, I urgently recommend that you take your dog elseware for grooming. And stay away from the anal gland expression option anywhere you go. My dog and I had a horrific experience at Biscuits and Bath grooming service at 38th and 2nd Avenue on July 5th. I chose B&B because I am new to the neighborhood, it was convenient in terms of availability and location, and I thought that this bright and friendly looking "neighborhood gem" would do a good and functional job for my 16lb dog who has been groomed many, many times before without incident (and simply needed a basic cut for the summer), and quite honestly because I didn't know any better. This was a MAJOR mistake on my part. The staff was warm and friendly and I did not think twice about leaving him there. But when I picked him up after his appointment at B&B, he had been shaved down so close to his skin that he had razor burns all over the back of his legs, a patch of hair clipped off under his chin, and a walk so impaired by a faulty anal gland expression job (this was later confirmed by a visit to my Vet) that he could barely walk home afterwards without stopping to sit down every 2 feet. I carried my dog home from Biscuits and Bath that day cause he could not walk home himself. Now, I understand that any matted fur needs to be shaved, but seeing him with razor burns was just uncalled for and completely unacceptable. As for the scrape under his chin, I was notified of this by the Groomer who, upon my pick of of my dog, asked if I "was aware that my dog had a bald spot under his chin." Even more frightening was that his happy, solid, sturdy gait had somehow been injured. Why would his walk be injured from a grooming?? Horrified, I called B&B customer service to learn about each step of the grooming process of my dog, and then called my Vet to set up an appointment to make sure there was no internal disruption of my healthy little's dogs body as a result of a nightmare grooming experience. The Vet examined him and found that only one of his anal glands had been expressed, leaving the other full, which had contributed to his staggered walk and discomfort. She also told me to continue applying vaseline to the razor burn and scrape under his chin to assist with his discomfort and to "give him time" to recover and feel like himself again. Either way, my dog and I NEVER should have had to go through all this as as a result of a grooming. I will never come back to B&B for any service and by writing this hope to prevent anyone from having a similar traumatic event. This event has made me either want to learn how to groom my dog myself or hire a service to come to my home so that I can supervise what should be a normal process and ensure that he is not impaired in any way or manhandled. read more

B&B is my dog's home away from home during the busy work week. Actually, they treat her so well there, she thinks it IS her home! My English bulldog attends B&B for "school" every workday and the occassional weekend. She loves being at B&B and all of the staff is so wonderful to her. She plays with the other dogs, sleeps, and bonds with the staff. We never have to worry about her while she is in their care. The staff keeps an eye on her if she is under the weather and they call us with updates. The pictures and videos are great to receive also! It brightens my day to see my dog having fun and happy (instead of being home by herself sleeping). We can always have a vet check on her as well. All in all, don't hesitate to bring your pet here. They will have fun while you are busy and the care is outstanding. The team at B&B are fantastic!!! Thank you for taking such good care of LB. read more

What a great place! I have a 9 year old 60 pound Standard Poodle and I am very fussy about her looks. Well these people could not be nicer and know more about dog care. Rob, the groomer spent tons of time listening to what I wanted and did it perfectly. But just in case he had anything wrong, he waited for me to pick her up, past his quitting time, to make any last changes. Can you believe that? In NYC no less! You know I am a customer for life! read more

Just came into NY from Chicago and on a whim thought it would be great to have our 2 golden doodles groomed. We went to biscuits and baths hoping the dogs to have our dogs groomed before the New York relatives saw them. We dropped the dogs off and hoped for the best. They called us 20 minutes before the dogs were ready so we could head over -- which is great. The dogs were calm, not stressed and seemed (omg) happy. And....they looked adorable. Ok, I'm biased -- they always look adorable but they can get stressed at the groomer. Kudos to this place. We would be delighted to go back! read more

Horrifying -- day care is dangerous for all dogs. We found out that there are two people watching about 25 dogs. Our brown lab had his ear bitten off by a nasty Vishla -- these dogs have a history of not being sociable and safe around other dogs. No screening before dogs are socialized together and this is what happens. Moreover they don't pay the veterinary bills that they are liable for. This is not a company focused on the care of animals it's a bunch of creepy business people who have probably never had a family pet in their lifetimes. Please NYC health and Avery shut them down. We have absolutely nothing good to say about them. read more
