I hoped this place would end my search for dog grooming. Unfortunately I don't think it did. First off, whoever booked grooming session for me was someone from corporate centrally or something. She's not specific to this location and failed to realize the groomer was double booked. So when I dropped Caesar off around 10:30am in the morning for his supposedly 11am grooming session, Katerina (the groomer) told me she probably wouldn't get to him till way later, maybe 1 or 2pm. Not her fault at all, and they tried to make it up by offering walking Caesar home for free. With that said, get the booking sorted out. Secondly, after Caesar was dropped off by them post-grooming, at first glance he looked great. So when they called and asked how his haircut was, I had no complaints. Then when I had more time to stare at Caesar in the following hours without my baby crying in the background, the hair cut looked VERY choppy. His face was cut uneven, one side had more hair than the other. His legs were cut uneven as well. Just in general a very rough cut. Now this could be also due to the groomer was in a hurry and couldn't do what she intended to. Again I had high hopes for this place. The location is near me, staff and groomer were very nice and tried to make things right. Unfortunately the actual grooming was just not there, and the whole double-booking situation was a bit annoying. read more

I thought I'd post about the Biscuits & Bath grooming service since most of the other comments here relate to their other services. I took my puppy there for a haircut and bath. This service includes many of their "spa" services baked into the price. I dealt with three different managers over the course of two days (registering and booking on day one and then the grooming on day two). They were all very amiable and helpful, explained the fee structure clearly, and seemed to know and greet in a very friendly way all of the dogs and owners who were coming in to drop off their pets for daycare. But I was particularly impressed with their groomer (Katerina). She spent about 10-15 minutes the first day when I was booking the appointment just reviewing what she thought needed to be done. She then spent over 20 minutes the next day reviewing with me grooming techniques for my dog after she had groomed her and assessed errors I was making. My dog is a Shih Tzu which is a breed that requires a lot of grooming attention on a daily basis and Katerina gave me numerous tips on daily care for my Shih Tzu's coat. I was very pleased with the service and the care and attention given to my puppy. read more

While I always appreciated the care my pet received. I was very shocked at my last bill where the billing appeared excessive. Some days were billed $100 for day care. I'm gobsmacked. The staff was always supportive and friendly. There were times I would come home and find my door unlocked. Weekends were always a problem. Scheduled dog walks would mysteriously get cancelled requiring a follow-up call and pick-ups often didn't occur till after 10:00 a.m. despite a 9:00 scheduled opening time. The dog walkers were great but there seems to be some higher level management issues with Biscuits and Bath. read more

Biscuit & Bath riverside boulevard location - Terrible service I hired your service for a month of dog walking. The person who talked with me on the phone said that the location on Riverside boulevard had just one dog walker (name Luis) that would walk my dog. I said that was fine, and I explained to her that I was going to travel for four days, and during these four days, I would need the dog walker to walk my dog in the morning and the afternoon. She said okay. I requested that the dogwalker come and meet my dog while I was still in NYC. He came to my house, we adapted, and everything went well. I went traveling calmly, confident that everything was fine. However, on Monday, December 5th, I received a call from the store manager saying that the dog walker had not been able to walk my dog, as my dog was very agitated. I found it very strange. But the manager said it wasn't the dogwalker that had come to my house before, but a new dog walker. I was shocked as the person on the phone did not say that another dog walker would walk with my dog. Obviously, my dog wouldn't go for a walk with someone he didn't know. I was working out of NYC. I had to cancel the meeting to get in touch with a friend who could walk my dog in the morning. The store manager apologized and said that in fact, this could not have happened. Tuesday, the biscuit & bath dog walker (Luis) came again and managed to walk. However, I got a message saying that Luis would not be available to walk my dog on Wednesday. This message was, for me, the apex of the irresponsibility of your store. I was apprehensive about my dog and couldn't believe what had happened. I trusted your store. Again the manager apologized. I was extremely upset and disappointed with what you did to my dog. In addition, the manager informed me that another dogwalker tried to enter my house, and my dog ran away and pooped with blood. This happened because my dog became very anxious with people he had never seen entering the house and, without the slightest experience with dogs, tried to take him for a walk. In conclusion, I missed more meetings to call my friend, and I had to pay my friend again to walk my dog. I advanced my flight back to NYC, where I had to pay the costs of changing tickets. I canceled my service with your store on Thursday and asked for my money back. Today the same dog walker that stressed my dog came here to walk him. My dog was very nervous to see her. Again, this whole situation demonstrates a lack of organization in your store and a lack of responsibility for the welfare of animals and their owners. I'm still waiting for a call from someone from the store, and I am still waiting for someone to contact me. I asked for a refund for the service I purchased, which did not occur, and I received NOTHING. Do not use this company! And please, Biscuit &Bath, be responsible and give me my money back! read more

I wanted an energetic dog that would be able to run with me when it got older, but I didn't have a well thought-out plan for what to do with that dog when it came home with me as a 2 month old puppy from the North Shore Animal League. After 3 painful months of adjustment with ruined work schedules, a frazzled dog walker, two unhappy owners and neighbors who complained, I stumbled on Biscuits and Bath while I was out walking (trying to tire the puppy out). I immediately took B&B up on their free three day trial offer. I was hooked. Our puppy --who is smart and strong and very interactive-- immediately began to thrive when given the opportunity to hang out with other mutts all day (okay this is the UWS, so most of them are pure breeds). Instead of US being exhausted and worn out all the time, now it's the PUPPY who can barely keep his eyes open. After a vigorous "workday" of being a dog all day at B&B, he comes home to us happy to rest and hang out and nestle with us. The staff --plainly stated-- love dogs. They love our dog (who wouldn't!?) but they speak warmly and caringly of the other charges in their care and you can tell that they are genuine about it. For dog people, it's really important to know that you are leaving your little one in a supportive, pleasant environment. I'm inclined to knock off one star because B&B's prices are so breathtaking, but in their favor: 3-day free trial + first month half-off. Once you're hooked, they soak you for all you're worth, but at that point you really know exactly what you're getting. (Unlike that stupid gym membership I bought and am unable to cancel). Also: I've used the overnight services, which the dog also clearly loved, but found that the $75/night price was a little hard to stomach. Petsmart Pethotel is LESS THAN HALF the cost. I have been a member here since January and my pug goes in for daycare three times a week. The staff is caring and attentive and love him almost as much as I do. They take great care of him and I feel comfortable knowing he is in their care. I have taken my maltipoo to biscuits & bath since I brought her home from the breeder, and I am pretty satisfied with all the staff. I am at work 9 to 6-7pm, so it is great that my puppy have a place to play with other dog while I work. She goes there 5 times a week, and she loves going to the daycare. Whenever she is near the area she gets all excited. She also have her best friend at the day care and they post up pictures, and you can check out the pictures in your account. Biscuits and bath did made a mistake once by not picking up my puppy for a pick up, but they explained the situation and the manager sincerely apologized and gave compensation for their mistake. I do agree with past reviewer that the price is bit high, but it is super convenient that it is near my house. I also did private training with Allyssa who is at upper east side now, and patrick who is new to the riverside blvd location, and both of them were great to work with. Updating my review of Biscuits & Bath, now that it's been nearly a year since my last review. Our dog - no longer a puppy - still loves going to daycare just as much as when she was little. I strongly believe in the value of early socialization, as Adelaide is the most social and friendly dog you'll ever meet, and she's great with all other dogs, from the youngest and most timid puppies to the obnoxious and big dogs. She loves them all and is great at playing with them all - I owe a great deal to Biscuits & Bath for that! Since my last review, we've also used Biscuits & Bath for their boarding services. On more than one occasion, we were stuck and unable to return home on the date planned (including during Hurricane Irene). The team at B&B was incredibly accommodating and kept us informed and updated every day. They care so much for the dogs, and I feel secure knowing she's in good hands. We've also had to leave unexpectedly for family emergencies, and they are great about accommodating us last minute and being there for our dog in every possible way. If you can afford it and you live in the city, I recommend Biscuits & Bath for all your grooming, boarding, and daycare needs! read more

Biscuits & Bath @ 160 Riverside went above and beyond with my dog, a large Rhodesian Ridgeback. He was experiencing a great deal of separation anxiety having just moved into the city, and the team was just wonderful in welcoming me to the neighborhood and assuring me that he would be in good hands, and he was. I was so grateful to utilize their services while adjusting to the neighborhood temporarily. While I have since moved a bit further North, I will be utilizing biscuits & bath in the other locations again--just knowing that they were so accommodating at this initial spot. My puppy (well, she's not really a puppy any more, but she'll always be one to me) adores me. And I mean REALLY adores me. She has separation anxiety and gets upset if I leave her in the apartment for even thirty seconds to take out the trash. She sits next to me on the couch when I'm on the computer, like now, and paws at my hand so she can hold it between hers. She wakes me up each morning with a kiss and often jumps straight into my arms when I get home. And yet she bolts out the door each morning when the driver for Biscuits & Bath calls her name. I think that pretty much says it all about this place. The staff here are real dog lovers, and it's clear that the dogs (or at least my dog) love them as well. I get a video update of my dog at play or in a training session about once a month (and they can send you more if you request them-- for example, to do "homework" with your dog). Those days are always amazing for me-- I can't stop smiling-- and maybe just a little bit annoying for my friends and co-workers, who are then inundated with videos and pictures and, "Isn't she the cutest?" demands. I work long, sometimes unpredictable hours, and Biscuits & Bath really gives me peace of mind. They have a great pick-up and drop-off service, and they always feed her dinner before dropping her off, so I don't have to worry if I have an unexpected late night. There's an in-house groomer and even a veterinarian, both of which are incredibly convenient. And the staff calls me if Marshmallow seems unhappy, if she has an upset stomach or got into a bit of a tussle at daycare or even if there's unexpectedly heavy traffic on the roads, all of which I definitely appreciate. Every morning I smile to see my dog excited to go to "school." And every night they return her to me, happy and tired and ready to snuggle. It's expensive, but, in this case at least, you really do get what you paid for. read more

Puppy play group is just about the greatest thing ever when it comes to providing socialization for your puppy! We started going to the UWS location last Thursday, and the staff has been so friendly and welcoming, offering training tips, reassurance, and supervision for all the little pups. We signed up for training class at the Greenwich Village, and are so pleased with our trainers, Tamar and Christine. They tell it like it is and are so knowledgable--there doesn't seem to be a question they don't know the answer to. I have to say we are 100% satisfied with the service we've received from both B&B locations and would highly recommend! read more

So, yes, this place is pricey, but honestly, the comfort I have leaving my dog with them is worth it. The entire staff treats her like she is their family; they are kind, warm and professional. She sometimes stays with my parents for extended periods but everyone at B&B remembers her by name as soon as she walks in, even if it's been months since last seeing her. I know she is happy there because she always runs in as soon as we get to the door and comes home so tired after a long day of playing with her best friends. I love that they post pictures and videos on their Instagram page throughout the day so I always feel like I know what my dog is up to and how she's doing. Occasionally, I can't make it in time to pick her up before B&B closes so they will drop her off in my apartment for me. I've come home to her food and water bowls filled. It's SUCH a relief to have a place like this in the neighborhood. read more

The best part was that my flight home was delayed preventing me from getting there in time for closing. They did a good job on grooming my puppy but I found a tiny scar on him after they groomed. I understand that he might be anxious that time and you accidentally hurt him a little bit (but actually I feel like it is still lack of professionalism) but they didn't say anything about it when I picked him up. The fast answer is no. I gave them a healthy dog and they returned one that could not walk. The communication is late to non-existent, misleading and changes ask questions. Ownership does not return calls as I have left two and was not asking for anything besides assurance the communication would approve. I rarely write reviews and it is generally driven by superb service or by extraordinarily poor. In this case communication was poor to intentionally misleading and our pet could get hurt. They are not below market in pricing, but higher. I boarded our dog st the UWS location and was impressed with the detailed questions they asked about my dog, such as behavior, health issues, preferences etc. I made it clear he is healthy but he is a shepherd and might try to break up fights and does not back down if he becomes part of it. Overall he is sweet and gets along well with other dogs. We dropped my dog off on Tuesday with instructions for a daily walk. On Wednesday I received a nice picture and an update. I inquired upon receipt of the same if they had a doggie cam that I could access but received no answer. Most days I received a picture with only a mention that he threw up his food one day but no injuries. Sunday as we were headed home I received a call from the kennel that Seamus was limping and they thought it was due to old age. I told them he had slowed, but doesn't limp, so did something happen, get in a fight, etc.? She said that no, it just started. When I picked him up the answers from the manager Patrycja were thin and she said the vet briefly looked at him and could see no marks or breaks. I then asked if they checked his paw and she did not know & said the vet looked at him briefly which seemed odd. On Tuesday he still couldn't walk and I called and asked to see the log on Seamus. I reiterated, as I had said on pick up, that accidents do happen but knowledge of the accident would be helpful. Also if this was a two day problem then I would wait before seeing the vet and hope for improvement. Could this have occurred earlier, in which case I might see my vet. I was told there was no log on each dog but as I stayed on the phone the manager Patrycja said that it looks like it might have been a problem on Saturday and then she said she would have to talk with the walker and call me back. She then left me a message that it actually happened on Friday but they had no knowledge of any accident. Here is the problem. They never called me but walked my dog again on Saturday this in spite of noticing a limp on Friday Then they tried to walk him again on Sunday & one block away he just fell down on the street. When I complained about the lack of communication they credited me for Sundays walk that he didn't take. I questioned their policy, if they had one, on communicating and reporting injuries. They then changed the story that on his limp on Friday was old age and being not an energetic dog. What struck me as odd is that a business that dings you with ancillary charges did not answer my question about a doggie cam until after I picked up my dog. I would have paid for a membership so I am left wondering if that was part of the coverup or just more incompetence. read more

I'm highly protective of my beautiful pittie rescue, who was attacked by off leash dogs in 2012 which affected both of us. The attention, care and love they gave my girl warmed my heart. Their attention to detail is a lost art. They noticed and noted when she was better and when she required more care. They are incredibly attentive, not just of the dogs but us crazy parents, too. The updates encouraged me and helped me feel better, especially from those who really "got" how wonderful my girl is. I will say I would have liked to see pics of her ;) but I was understanding of the circumstances. None the less, I feel confident and comfortable in knowing there is a place I feel safe leaving my precious cargo when we're out of town. And the more she goes the more comfortable and familiar she'll feel. It's a relief that can't be put into words. They quite literally moved me to tears when I dropped her off for the first time, watching her go through the motions and begin to get comfortable and I noted that the handler never took her eyes of my girl. They are the epitome of what it means to be a professional, and passion for our beautiful creatures. read more

I have been a member of Biscuits and Bath for 2 years now after moving back to New York. My puggle spends 3 days a week there and since I travel frequently she often stays overnight at the UWS location. The staff is attentive and caring and my puggle is quick to respond to them. They work with a sense of urgency if she is not feeling well and never hesistate to call me to fill me in or check up on her. LOVE B&B! I cannot speak for other locations, but the B&B at 160 Riverside Blvd is amazing! I have two dogs. Took my first one to B&B for about two years when I "met" one of their dogs available for adoption. My heart melted when I saw the second/ "rescue" dog but I was not sure if I could handle a new puppy. Getting the second dog was the best decision I ever made and I could not have done it without the help of the staff at B&B. (My first dog is not affectionate and is also very difficult, something that B&B just accepted and dealt with for the two years before I got dog #2.) During the early months of training a new puppy they had great trainers to help (Patrick is great!) and people available whenever I needed some extra help for dog walking, late nights at work, or just some support with "new puppy issues" ... they were always there. Manny and Lynn are FABULOUS!!!! They are almost like my second family ... yes it is pricey but well worth every cent! I know that if I get stuck at work or delayed for any reason my dogs will be well taken care of and, if I ask, taken home, fed and happily asleep when I get there. Sam (the manager), Manny and Lynn are great! There are also a number of other people there who seem to really care about dogs (my pups love Oscar!). They do a good job of managing staff turnover and dealing with the occasional staff who should not be there. The B&B at 160 Blvd is very well run .... the number of people standing outside everyday watching dogs play with big smiles on their face tells you how much people in our little corner of Manhattan love the place and people who work there. read more

Love this place! Staff really loves dogs and it shows. Manager is really responsive and on top of it. They were very accommodating and we were able to go to a show and have fun knowing our dog was having a playdate and a bath. Truly the best grooming he has ever had. One tip, better to call the locations directly than the main number; never did reach a person on the main line, but the staff at this location's direct line were terrific. If you care about the welfare of your dog and your mental reassurance about your pet's safety while traveling, go elsewhere. The personnel have proven incapable to follow simple instructions. We asked that our deadbolt was locked upon drop off. It wasn't. As a result, our dog was found wandering our building. We are beyond lucky she didn't end up on the street. This is after they forgot to pick her up on Friday. And this all followed a weekend stay were we got an email saying "don't mean to alarm you, but your dog got into a fight and was bit." We are done sending our dog here. When you go out of town, all you want is to feel like the people you leave your pet with care for him/her the way you would. Biscuits and Bath just categorically doesn't. read more

I finally tried Biscuts and Bath on west 13th street after getting a part time consultancy job..the Staff could not be more friendly and hospitable. Not only were they warm and outgoing to me...but to Dudley, my tibetian terrier..they were and are incredible!! I am not currently working and feel so guilty since I cannot afford full time day care..nor is it necessary..yet I think Dudley would prefer to be at Biscuts rather than with me.... I love everybody there!! They ALWAYS extend themselves and are more than helpful...they treat Dudley as good as I do..they treat me better than my ex-husband!! I would suggest if you love your pet and cannot be with him/her during the day...the better thing to do is drop them off at Biscuts and Bath....I love everyone there..they are the best and take such great care of our Duddles and of us!! The staff is always on alert, friendly and will ALWAYS go out of their way to please and do anything to help!! If you love your dog..then get him/her to B&B...it is one of the best treats available!! Biscuits & Bath (13th street location) has basically raised my 5 month old goldendoodle puppy with us. As soon as we got him I knew he needed to have social interaction with other dogs so after a few referrals we tried Biscuits & Bath. It was the best decision. He comes home every day exhausted and tame. B&B takes care of everything; last minute boarding, the vet if he is sick, grooming and training. I have used all services and they are fantastic. It is expensive and the fees do add up, but if you are going to get a puppy and you work out of the house, I personally believe that this is the only solution. Allegra Quinlan and Jonathan Horan are two employees that stand out at B&B. I feel that they know my dog well and go the extra mile for him which is really comforting. The only constructive criticism I would offer is that they should assign one person to manage their regular accounts. I find that there are many people calling me about the same things (mostly billing issues and upcoming membership fees). read more

Katerina is fabulous with my dog. He's a nervous dog and he warmed up to her straightaway. She is patient and loving towards him. She does a fabulous job trimming him. We have been to many doggy spas and my dog drags his feet when entering any of them, but he gets really excited when he see Katerina wagging his tail and licking her. I lived in the Trump buildings and this doggie daycare was so convenient! I do think its a bit pricey, but it was worth making my life easier and hassle-free! They open early and close late, which was great since I would often have to work overtime. They would even walk my dog back to my apartment when I couldn't make it home in time for them to close or if I made unexpected dinner plans, etc. My old doggie daycare would close at 7pm and it was too difficult to make it there on time every night! David, Sam, and Anthony are so nice! They always understood my strange work schedule and kept my Max's best interests at heart. They always wanted to make my life more convenient. I would even often stay and chat about life at length with them after a long day at work and picking up my dog. All of the dog walkers would wave to me when I would see them on the street, and everyone who worked here had a very positive demeanor- something that I appreciated my dog being around. If ever Max wasn't feeling well or something was wrong, they would call me and let me know. They also have a vet on staff which was very convenient for a second opinion (Max gets ear infections a lot). Max loved going there, as soon as I said "its time to go to school" in the morning, he would start going crazy and got so excited! He made lots of friends that we would see around our building. Our Great Dane Maximus loves the welcome, the care and attention he gets from the Professionals at this location. They clearly know their dog clients in terms of personality and behaviour as well as their human clients expecations. The professionals really go above and beyond in service and truly do their best to make it a personal experience so that you dont worry about your best pal while he is in their care. The professionals act on their own initiative to reach out just to check in, and/or if they are concerned or otherwise share photos of a special day of play. My little Coton, Mishka, comes here for grooming, and for day care 3 days a week. I'm ashamed to admit that I don't know too much about the place's inner workings, but Mishka seems to love it - she bolts like crazy to get inside, and jumps all over the staff kissing them. There are 2 playrooms, one for big dogs and another for little ones, and they seem pretty closely supervised. Everyone working there is extremely nice and seems entirely competent. Their groomers are great, and take instruction very well. My only complaint would be that, when we pick Mishka up in the evening, they sometimes bring her out of a back room - where I expect she's being crated. Still, I trust the staff here enough to plan to leave Mishka with them when I'm on vacation, and she came back from boarding healthy and cheerful. The staff even gave me updates when I called to check on her. The on-site emergency vet is a big plus. I haven't tried their training services, so I really can't comment on their quality, but I do love that they give regular reports of Mishka's behavior, mood, and health. read more

I moved to New York in July as a traveling nurse. I needed somewhere to take my puppy, Daisy, to wear off all of her extra energy. I found out from someone about Biscuits and Bath puppy promotion.The promotion has expired, which was sad, but I continue to bring her to this site. I have her enrolled in the Unlimited Monthly package which is perfect for me. I can bring her anyday that I want. I like the fact that I can make appointments for grooming while she is in their care. I also like the fact that I can call and have them drop her off when it is raining (my dog is a complete snob when it comes to rain). The staff are very nice. They greet Daisy and I by name when we walk in and leave. I have even been stopped on the sidewalk so that a staff member can say hi to Daisy. When Daisy gets home, she is exhausted and sleeps very well. I know she has a great time when she is there because she gets so excited when we walk up to the entrance of the building. I can't imagine taking Daisy to any other place. I will be sad to say goodbye when Daisy and I do leave New York. read more
