    High-fashion walker balls.

I would describe this store as warm encouragement to aging gracefully. This isn't a chain, it's a family run incredibly stocked emporium to assist us in living longer and more comfortably. Angie, the self-proclaimed "worker-bee," carefully measured my mom's legs for the exactly-right compression socks. Angie wanted the fit to be exactly right and it was. Bischoff's is for all ages. A teenage girl was getting her sports injury walking cast adjusted while we were there. I highly recommend this place. Lots of free parking also.

Comfy recliner/lift chairs in showroom to try. Some have massage function and adjustable lumbar/headrest.

Delivery was on time, price is reasonable. Customer service was friendly. The bed we rented was working fine.

    Do you refill oxygen tanks?

No, I do apologize we no longer provide oxygen services. You may want to try Brannen’s medical.

    We do not bill Medical.

Do you carry blood pressure monitoring devices? My doctor wants me to monitor my blood pressure at home and I'd prefer buying one from a store instead of ordering on line. Also, if you do carry them, do you have larger cuffs? Thanks!

Months would go by and we would call and literally the *day* we called was the day they would *start* the process. We got fitted for a chair and everything by March of 2025 only to be told at the last minute that they ran the insurance incorrectly and showed us the incorrect model. We came back and looked at a different model and got fitted again and now it's JUNE 2025 and we're being told that *on that day* it was just sent to the doctor for authorization. Hahaha. This is a joke. Compete joke. The first slip up of taking months to initially put in the referral for occupational was already enough of a mistake. The accidental insurance mix up and getting us the wrong wheelchair so we'd have to go and start the process alllllll over again is enough of a mistake. BUT... now to just forget about us after 3 more months of waiting and getting a notice that the process has been restarted and the doctor needs a new signature. This is ridiculous. We've been forgotten about completely. This is horrific clinic and it's being poorly managed. How is the office going to voicemail at 2pm on a Wednesday? The corporate office connection number told me that they were unable to reach that branch. Do NOT go here if you want a wheelchair. I think they're possibly mismanaging money or committing medical fraud. No amount of niceties are worth the level of negligence with regard to care. They should be reported.

The owner of the company, Craig Coogan, came to my apartment late and smelled strongly of alcohol. He was visibly under the influence. My caregiver was going to be off her shift, and I let him know. He aggressively insisted that she put me in the sling, because I weigh 130lbs and that should not have happened. I told him that my next caregiver was on her way to my apartment. He insisted that I should get in my hoyer lift again. While we were waiting for my next caregiver to arrive, he stated that he works with everyone in the Bay Area for Lift and Transfer and has been doing this for 28 years, and then said for 25 years a few minutes later. My next caregiver came in, and I was put in the hoyer lift and raised up as high as I could go. There was nothing underneath me, and my caregiver stated that she wanted me to be in my wheelchair while we discussed options. Craig declined, said I was safe, grabbed the sling, pulled it hard, and shook it back and forth. As a reminder, I had fallen out of the sling because one of the straps came off the hook. He then put his hand on my upper leg close to my vulva and my shoulder without asking for consent. He left it there for roughly 3 minutes. As a disabled woman who cannot physically defend herself, this caused alarm because there was no reason to touch me. Also, because he seemed drunk, I couldn't predict what he was going to do. He would ask my caregiver to adjust the sling and then proceed to do it himself in a rough manner without asking for my consent. He was aggressive when telling my caregiver she was doing it wrong when she stated that she did manual transfers. She stated that we preferred it that way with her, because she can pick me up. If he had come at his scheduled time, then my previous caregiver, who uses the hoyer lift would be able to show him how she uses it. He would not offer different solutions for how my caregiver could transfer me. It got to a point where they got into a verbal argument, and I had to raise my voice at him to tell him that he is not here to discuss this. I was then put back in my wheelchair. My caregiver stated she has another client with a different hoyer lift that might be a better solution. He kept pushing her to tell her who it was because he had been working with everyone for 25 years. She was hesitant to tell him because she did not want to violate client privacy, and then he stated again that he had been working in this company for 28 years. After that, he gave her his card so she could send him a picture of the hoyer lift. Afterwards, he was drawing a map of my room to demonstrate other options for hoyer lifts while my caregiver was doing work around my room. He would not move out of the way when she politely asked him to move multiple times to where she had to squeeze behind him and brush against his body. He would not acknowledge her. When he drew his map of my room, it did not make sense of what he wanted to do. He had this idea of putting the hoyer lift in the ceiling, which I stated I was not comfortable with. He gaslit me by telling me that it was fine and I had to tell him that my ceiling would not be able to hold a hoyer lift with the poorly designed ceiling in my apartment. He then continued by suggesting putting me in a hoyer lift that could put me further down in my bed. When I told him that I would not want that, he then suggested putting me in a hoyer lift where I could park my wheelchair in the hallway. This did not make sense because my staff would not be able to safely get me out of my chair or bypass my wheelchair to get me to the bathroom on my commode chair. His next suggestion was to park my wheelchair facing the wall. This would not make sense because my caregivers would not be able to put the straps from the sling on the hooks safely. I stated that it wouldn't feel safe doing it. He then suggested, again, placing the hoyer lift in the ceiling and parking my wheelchair in the hallway. It had become more obvious that he could not think logically due to being under the influence. Afterwards, I walked him out of my room, where my caregiver was cleaning dishes. He kept talking to her about how she should not be manually lifting me and mumbling that it wasn't safe for her back. He then tried to give her his card again. At this point, I understood that he would not leave without me forcing him to leave. I had to walk him out of my apartment building to make sure that he was out of the building. I did not feel safe until I knew he was out of the building. Not only was I concerned for my safety, but I am still concerned for the clients that he continues to work with.

Then, I looked up on Google: "Electric Scooter Shops near me". The first result was "Electric Transportation Repair" located at 1181 N. 4th St, Ste. 10. I called the listed phone number, and made an appointment with them. The next day (Friday, April 17th), I went in with my rear wheel rim and a brand new SOLID tire (I had to buy a solid tire, because the "Tubeless Tires" cannot prevent even the tiniest punctures, especially a nail that is 2mm big), I asked them to install the solid tire onto the rim, that was all I wanted (I went ahead by removing the tubeless tire myself, with an insurmountable amount of brute force, I even had to use a torch and even a power saw to cut it off). I gave them $70 in cash up front. They had me fill out the documents (Name, Phone Number, E-Mail), and they told me to come back today (Monday, April 20th) to pick it up. Fast forward to today (Monday, April 20th), I went back, it was ready and done. I took it back home, re-installed the rim and wheel back on the Segway. I tested it out, it still showed the red "Tire Pressure Check" banner on the screen of my Segway MAX G3, but at this point, it is just a mild inconvenience, and just to not pay any attention to it anymore. I rode my scooter for a bit, it was a little slow to start, but that is because the battery was at 10%, and I forgot about that. But other than that, it runs smoothly. I am deeply excited that I get to ride my scooter again. I HIGHLY and STRONGLY Recommend this place if you want your scooter's tires replaced. The staff here were very welcoming and enduring to converse with. I'm glad that these small, mom-and-pop businesses are around in this day and age, at a time when owning cars is becoming a luxury rather than a necessity, as well as gas and diesel prices are expected to increase significantly over the next several months. I think it's best to purchase an electric scooter (or electric bike, either way), because its much easier to maintain service and repairability compared to a traditional, gas/diesel-powered car or truck. I cannot believe they have been around for 10 years now (since 2016). They have come a long way, repairing electric transportation machines, and even selling them at reasonable prices rather than paying markup at big, faceless corporations who only care about selling their products just for money, not even caring about the integrity or principles of the products they sell to us. I am so glad this business is around. Thank you very much, Electric Transportation Repair, you're the best! Keep up the amazing work!!
