Checked out their buffet this morning. What I really liked about the buffet is the variety of food they have. I have come across Indian buffet that have more number of items but this one have variety in dishes. They had rabbit curry, crab curry, fish curry, chicken curry, fried fish, fried chicken, lamb biriyani, rice biriyani and so on.. I loved the fruit custard in it end, it was delicious. They had a diss station and made fresh dosas right in front of you. I loved the freshness of the food. Now I'm not giving five stars since the food is very spicy and although they open at 11:30 on Sunday the buffet was not ready till 12:30. The buffet is a little expensive which is $17. But that is not the issue since they have such variety. I would go there one in a while to try out crabs and rabbit curries since I don't know if any other Indian restaurant does that. !!WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! My bad experiences with takeout's at this restaurant 1. HUGE WAIT TIME irrespective of whether you place your order 30 min back or 1 hr. back. It doesn't matter, they literally CANNOT MANAGE the orders, that's all. 2. They have a habit of surprising you with a different dish than what you order. One day, I ordered Goat Dum Biryani and as usual had to wait for almost an hour in the restaurant and finally the receptionist came and handed over Goat Kheema biryani. When I asked, why I was given a different biryani, their answer was Kheema biryani is costlier than dum biryani, so enjoy sir'. Who the hell are they to decide what customer should eat. Worst attitude and behavior towards customer. Last, but not the least. 3. After above two experiences, this time I did not want to risk waiting for biryani's and just ordered their so called special Double ka Meetha and I found a special guest(Cockroach) in it, DISGUSTING. This is for the Weekend buffet. To start with the buffet here is very famous. There is a live dosa stand with different types of doses made fresh and hot like chicken 65 dosa, pesarattu(Andhra spl), egg dosa.. made spicy with some powder sprinkled on them. The chef will ask you if you want the extra spicy-ness. They have a good number of veg and non-veg dishes for the buffet. There are soups and chutneys.There is hot Indian Tea as well. Coming to the food, it was good. Both the veggie and non-veg. The food is well cooked, may be little greasy for some. It was very tasty. The chicken is very well done both in curries and Biryani. One of the best Biryanis and curries at Indian Restaurants. They are little slow to refill the empty bins unlike other restaurants. Also they have to work on the cleanliness. The vessels are dirty especially the soup cups and big bowls are all stained. May be they should change their dish washer. We have been there twice in 2 months now for the lunch buffet and we were not disappointed. But let me warn you that the food here is spicy that is "Telugu(Andhra) Spicy", so be careful if you like smooth versions of Biryanis and curries. read more

I love this Indian spot. The service is slow but the food is phenomenal! I had the Punjabi Chana masala and it was incredible. The food is fresh and packed with flavor. I'm a huge fan of ginger so this plate was right up my alley. I was nervous but so glad that I took this chance. I got a side of garlic naan which was sensational. One of the worst Dum biryani's I ever had. I have ordered spicy chicken biryani and they have made it with "double masala". You can see in the attached photo of the receipt that it was made with double masala (I never heard of adding double masala when order it spicy). It felt like I was eating only masala and I could not even finish half of it. The stomach is upset. We have been ordering from years and the biryani was always good but from last couple of times the Biryani is really bad. Probably their cooks might have changed and it does not even look like Dum biryani (as you can see from the attached photo). I would not recommend ordering from here at all. read more

Tasted biriyani from biriyani pot earlier at an event and liked it, so we decide to try dine in and try other items from their menu. We travelled John Creek all the way from Brookheaven reached at around 7.45 pm, very few customers, greeted and we were directed to our table, placed order and waited for food to arrive but then quite shockingly we got our appetizers at 8.30pm they took 40 mins just to serve us appetizers. Indian food where quantity reigns over quality. I've heard from coworkers that Biryani lunch specials are the place to be. Heeding their calls, I decided to go for lunch! I ordered the Chicken Lunch Special, and boy was it a lot of food. The Chicken Lunch Special had: Non - Veg Appetizer Non - Veg Curry (Chef's Special of the day) House Special Veg Curry Naan / Roti / Poori Chicken dum biryani / Jeera rice / Plain rice Mirchi ka salan and raita Papad, Dessert All of this for under 10 dollars! I could not say no. The portions were plentiful and the food had a good aroma so I was excited to chow down. When I started eating it, I realized that the quality of the food was not as I expected. While there was a lot of everything, nothing really stood out in terms of quality. Service was also quite bad, I had to ask for refills of water myself every time, and I had to go out of my way to get anything that I wanted. Also I'm personally not sure about this but I did not believe I got dessert, but other people at the restaurant did. Recently I visited this place again, and this time for a weekday lunch. And my experience was completely different from the last time. During weekday lunches they have special veg and non veg thali. Few of my friends ordered non veg thali and I ordered the veg thali. The thalis come of variety of dishes and portions are pretty big too. Surely you will leave the place satisfied. You start your meal with a sweet dish made of apple and yogurt. After that they bring your thali which consist of: - Jeera Rice/Biriyani - Dal - 2 types of curries (For non veg people, one curry and one chicken item) - Papad - Naan - Two types of starter - Raita (yougurt based salty dish) - Salad (made of onion, tomato and cucumber) - Dessert Service was great. I'm not sure how many had had this experience but this is the second time I was told they were out of food I wanted to eat and I'm free to chose from rest of the menu. This doesn't bother me because sometimes you just can't avoid these kind of things. However, this time I believe I would have had my fav food if the host or waitress or someone from the restaurant had payed a tiny bit of attention to a customer waiting in the booth waiting eternally to have his order taken. The time taken from having told by a guy to go chose whatever seat we like to get a glass of water on the table was 20 mins and it doesn't end there, I had to crane my neck at least 10 mins before someone bothered to find out what I wanted. During this Time I heard the guy take several orders over the phone for biryani and at least two of them were family packs. So, finally someone deigned to take my order but only to be told they were out of Biryani. Which was the very reason i steeped out of home and chose this restaurant. If there is one place someone asks me "to go for" "Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani", this would be that place I can recommend; at least outside the perimeter area. We had ordered Chicken Biryani and chicken 65 for a large social gathering, and we were not disappointed. The taste was liked by the entire gathering. The meat was cooked to right tenderness, had the right spice, was hot enough for the taste to linger for a long time and was quite large in proportion than expected. Following this, we visited it a couple more times and were pleased with the consistency in taste. The curries were cooked to right spice level and flavor, rotis were tender and nice. This is my favorite Biryani place in and around Atlanta. Chicken biryani is absolutely terrific. It's cheap and with good tummy filling quantity. I agree with a lot of the reviews, the service leaves a lot to be desired. Like a lot of Indian restaurants, I've come to expect below par people skills and hospitality. In a lot of ways this is a typical Indian joint. Come, sit, order, wait a ton, expect something missing from the order that you'll never get to eat, carefully check your check, don't expect small talk. Expect a customary question from the owner asking how everything was, even though they aren't really listening. Don't take your date to this place. Take your newly arrived parents from India to this place, to make them feel at home. Also, if you just care about your biryani then this is the place to be. read more

Went for a quick lunch meeting with 2 co-workers. We were seated immediately and were served water. The server gave us sufficient time to go over the menu and place our order. We all ordered Lunch combo. I ordered Chicken and the rest ordered Vegetarian. The combo offers a lot of variety as well as quantity. The Chicken combo comes with, Chicken Curry, Dal, Vegetable, half a Naan, papad, 2 Kebabs, Veg Pakora's, Chicken Biryani, Payasam, Milk-Shake, Salad, Salan and Raita for Biryani. Everything on the plate had flavor. I did not try the vegetable (mushroom gravy) simply because I was overwhelmed with the quantity of food on my plate. Biryani alone would have been enough for me. The chicken - both in the curry and the Biryani - was very well cooked and was moist and soft. The Biryani came with two large pieces of chicken and plenty of rice. As far as service is concerned, it was efficient but not personal. We were given to-go boxes even before asking for them. The place is clean and spacious except the corridor leading to the washrooms. The corridor was clean but also doubled up as a storage facility for disposables. The men's washroom was spotless and very clean. I do have a few feedback: 1. Please do offer an option of water with ice. Water what we got was at room-temperature tilting towards being warm. 2. The spice level was on a higher side. Is there a less spicy version? If there is we were not asked. 3. Improve your visibility. That part of the strip-mall does not have many businesses, don't miss out on customers because of poor visibility. Good food. Ate there a couple times. But the service (from the manager, himself) was absolutely horrible. Utter disregard for peoples time, and unabashedly prickish customer service. The last (and final) time we dined at Biryani Pot was when we ordered take out. We were told our food would be ready for pickup 45 minutes after we placed the order. When I got there, the man at the front told me that it would be 10-15 more minutes -- I ended up waiting close to 1 entire hour (it wasn't just me, there were three or four other customers in my same predicament). The manager wouldn't even give me a refund when I asked, saying some BS about not knowing how to give refunds. He then made up some excuse about the food I ordered needing fresh ingredients (biryani... the namesake of the restaurant... saag paneer... and bindi masala). There are quite a few other options for Indian food in the Johns Creek area. I suggest everyone try those first. Biryani Pot may have good biryani but they specialize in wasting people's time. read more

I finally tried the Biryani pot. If you are a fan of Biryani (Basmati/saffron rice) you can't go wrong here. I also think the food and restaurant is a copy cat from BAWARCHI BIRYANI POINT IN Dunwoody. Their special food is Goat Dum Biryani and Chicken 65. Chicken Biryani is awesome too. The only negative side is the booth seats pretty cramped to accommodate too many in numbers. Once you seated you pretty much stuck in the seat. Other than that the food is really GOOD. read more

Overall meh, I've experienced better is about right. Food: Chicken 65 - Really different than what you get at other places. Not deep fried but excellent flavor. So overall I think it's better. Did seem to make my husband's tummy upset though. That said, this is what made is 2 vs 1 star. Butter Chicken - It's pretty meh here, don't bother. Goat Biryani - It was quite good, however the flavor of cardamom was overwhelming. Maybe that's how they do it in the particular region of India this place hails from, but I'm used to more balanced flavors in my Biryani. Naan - It was actually crunchy vs soft, not in a they meant to do it sort of way, in a, we make shitty naan sort of way. Mango Lassi - It was pre-made, sitting in a plastic cup waiting to be ordered. That would have been ok, but the flavors also tasted like it may have been purchased vs made in house. Not great, just meh. Service - Atrocious, literally felt like we were bothering them and they couldn't wait to get rid of us. Ambiance - Dark and slightly run down. Back again today! Ordered takeout. Chicken korma and Goat Vindaloo. Both were amazing! Very spicy, just as they should be. Only thing I would keep in mind is to watch out for the bones in the goat. Oct 7th 2018 : Ordered a Take out mutton biryani, was up sold with family pack because they said it will come with an appitizer. Ordered it, got food home, no appitizer. Called the restaurant, they said they ll give a free appetizer next time (what about my appetizer now?) the mutton in the biryani was done medium rare. If you are eating a steak, that's great. we were lured to this restaurant by the promise of great biryani. We got the goat and chicken dum biryani, gongorra curr, fish curry, chicken kababs and mirchi ka salan. They were sadly out of goat chops. I personally liked the goat biryani and fish curry. The chicken biryani I felt had too spices and the chicken kabab too much raw spices on top but everyone else enjoyed it.The mirchi ka salan was a big let down for us, it was nothing like Hyderabadi mirchi ka salan we had expected but more like raita served in cafes. The service is not good, especially this waiter who liked standing and leaning over ladies. Really? We were celebrating our friends moms birthday and they were nice enough to bring it out and provide us with serve ware. The manager there was also attentive and nice. Check out their health score (not good)- the entire facility is not clean. Water was dripping down from the ceiling onto my table. For food- I enjoyed their goat soup. Not sure why their masala was so sweet. It threw me off big time since I thought they serve authentic Indian food. Sweet masala was difficult to tolerate... the lunch buffet price was not cheap ($11.99?) for the experience I had. I left feeling pretty grossed out. Sorry for leaving a bad review, but when it comes to sanitary of a restaurant, I believe people should know. I'm glad I didn't get sick. read more
