Stopped by this place as the restaurant we were actually looking for was closed. Similar experiences to some of the other Yelp reviewers, we asked to sit outside but told by the waitress the tables had been reserved so we were seated inside an empty restaurant. Upon asking if we could sit near the window, we were told that as a 3 we were only able to sit on the smaller tables and the bigger tables were suitable for parties of 6... We later saw a young family of 4 seated on the table we had our eye on... OK... Prices are reasonable and the food was actually quite nice but probably the only redeeming factor as service was slow and we often felt overlooked. Our table was located in a dark corner of the room, another reason why we wanted to be sat outside. Hello mosquitos!! We weren't the only ones that had a good meal that night. Go if you can get a table and want traditional Italian food, avoid if you don't want to be participate as part of the buffet for the local Italian mosquitos.

Melon prosciutto and burrata salad

Yum yummy! I was on the hunt for a good gnocchi - ask and you shall receive! I even ordered off the menu and the waitress was happy to accommodate, plus pricing it very well. We also ordered the pesto gnocchi and the prosciutto melon salad - both so delicious. Great portion sizes too...even us glutinous Americans couldn't finish So far the best meal in Italy and not confident anything can top it...we'll see!!

Good food. Large dishes. Had the ham for an appetizer and then had the lasagna. The kids had hamburgers. Everybody was very happy.

Archea Brewery - Bar is so fun!

In typical fashion, I had to find a brewery in Italy and had heard great things about Archea…read moreBrewery. After a long day of museums and pizza at Gustapizza (which I will post about separately!) we made a stop for a couple of beers from a craft brewery in Florence. Located in a city surrounded by wine makers, Archea Brewery is knocking it out of the park. They are an independent craft brew pub founded in 2012. They have a combination of house made beers and other artisanal beers focused on Italian producers, but do have others from across the region. We had two of their beers, which were extremely flavorful, and two beers from other craft breweries. Beers: Archea Melissa | Honey Ale Archea Salniette | Blanche Con Salvia Cantina Errante Saison Du Coupage 2021 | Lambic Blend / Saison Barrel Aged BFM 225 Saison | Sour Saison Oak Aged We loved both their own beers and the other local breweries with Brasserie des Franches-Montagnes (BFM) being a small, artisanal brewery in Saignelégier, Jura, Switzerland winning global acclaim with their unique offerings, and Cantina Errante located in Florence, Italy focused on exploring their surroundings through their beers. Highly recommend a stop here if in Florence and needing a craft brew!

This is a great place to have a few beers. The bartender…read morespoke English and was very patient. They carry several of their own beers which are solid and a must try, as well as guest beers. 16 in total including a beer engine which you don't see everywhere. They also offer a flight of 4 beers, but it is not posted. It was a narrow bar that went deeper and dark, just what I like in a bar. I walked in at 6 as well as a dad with 2 toddlers, in need of a beer No one even turned an eye, in fact they seemed to like the kids there. They open everyday at 6pm

My wife is a cocktail and wine person. I'd much rather have a beer any day of the week. So when we…read morewent to Florence, I checked out all the notable beer places on google and Alibi was the first one we went to (it's closest to the train station.) Well, they really set my expectations high for the rest of my list. Between us, we had about six different types of beer, each more delicious than the last. And we ordered food as well - her burrito was fine, if unexciting, but my cheeseburger with an egg on it was honestly the best burger I've had in a long time. The Italian cheese on it was phenomenal. We had to go back before we left cause it was just so good. The bartenders were friendly and helpful, and the bar itself was kinda cool and industrial, but you're going here for the beer and the food. You won't be disappointed.

Although there's nothing particularly 'Italian' about this bar - it has that BrewDog vibe which could have been plopped down from anywhere on the globe - it's a great, casual place to pop in for a pint. Although we didn't try the food, we did indulge in a few rounds. The beer is always fun and intriguing, as expected from the brewery. A worthy way to kick up your feet and while away some time.
