Their house wine is phenomenal and they take great pride in finding the grapes/different varietals to make it come to life. They have a both a red and a white house wine option. The second time we went - and yes, we went more than once in the four days we were there - we enjoyed one of the sandwiches and it was absolutely amazing. The bread, I can't even explain, the bread it's so flavorful and so good and so light. That paired with the delicious meats and cheeses were 100% worth it. You get a prepaid card, anything from 5 euros up to 50 (may go higher, but I didn't ask), or you can leave your credit card with the staff upfront and pay at the end. They have several wine 'vending machines' that you stick the card into and get to try out the wine in various amounts. You can have a sample, half glass, or full glass. The screens will tell you how much each sample will cost. Each 'Vending Machine' is sorted into categories like bubbles, whites, reds, dessert wine, etc. It's a great way to try different wines in various regions! If you like the wine you try, you can buy the bottle to take home.They have big leather couches and chairs to hang out, sip, and relax. Ever try a $100+ bottle of wine? Now is your chance :)

Dirty plates cleared right away bread refilled right away, everything was fast. Now to the food, I had the Caprese salad to start, the tomato was bland, thankfully, their balsamic vinegar was delicious, and allowed me to spruce up the dish the way I like it. Since the tomato didn't do the talking, the balsamic vinegar did. Then came the pasta stuffed with pecorino cheese, and served in a cream sauce. This was the highlight of the meal my wife, had the white truffle pasta and a cream sauce. Normally,she doesn't like a cream sauce, but this was the exception a week later and she still can't stop talking about how good the pasta and the sauce was. Onto the main course, my wife had the Seabass, which was cooked perfectly, drizzled, and vegetables. Amazing! The most underwhelming part of my meal, were my lamb chops. I think they gave me the thinnest lamb chops, like they were leftovers ! not only that, but they cooked it way too fast, kind of a metaphor to their service, which was fast. This was evident and the texture. And the sinews and small fats did not break down with the meat a true sign of cooking the lamb too fastly and too thoroughly. We had dessert, tiramisu, which was average for the city of Florence. When a nice place is recommended by the concierge, you don't expect to be served disappointment with a hefty bill. Back then, I ordered the Osso Buco, Lasagna, and Tiramisu--and I still remembered how incredible everything was. So, of course, when I returned nearly 10 years later, I had to order the same meals... and yes, I said meals! Fabrizio, the same server who took care of me in 2017, asked, "Are you sure you want two dinners?" I told him, "Yes! I want to try them both." Fast-forward to 2026: I walked back in two days ago, reminded Fabrizio of our conversation, and told him I was ordering both again. He immediately started laughing. Some things never change! My boyfriend ordered the pappardelle and instantly fell in love with it. We also shared a delicious cheese and meat platter and, of course, finished with Tiramisu. Nearly 10 years later, Pensavo Peggio still holds a special place in my heart. Highly recommend this cute little spot!
