Very good eye dr. Coat without insurance was $180 something out of pocket…read more Went in room he squirted some solution in my eye and had to put in a lens in my right eye like a contact. it was a bandage to cover my eye ball. Before he put the lens in he put some liquid in my eye and had me rest my chin on the chin holder and look into this area where he had a light and I think A bluish color light too and he saw where I had the injury. He wrote a prescription to get some antibiotic drops to help my eye. He gave us an RX card to help with the price when picking up the prescription. He had trouble putting the contact bandage in my eye due to me and my reflexes where going all crazy, I guess I don't like people messing with my eyes. Haha. I told the doc he has a lot of patience for me haha. I said if I was in his shoes I would have knocked me out so I could put it in with out trouble. Haha. But anyways he got the job done and my eye feels a lot better. I had to go back the next day so he could take out the bandage contact lens he put in and it was a $30 outta pocket price. He took it out and put some solution in my eye and asked me to move my eye around and tell him how I felt. Felt all better. And I was good to go. He was a very kind dr. And we had great conversation. Oh and I gotta tell y'all how I injured my eye! I was weed whacking and something flew up and hit me right in the dang eye ball! No I didn't have eye protection on. Stupid on my part. I didn't have anything, so lesson learned after the injury I said I'm going over to Home Depot to purchase some eye glasses for protection. And that's what I did. Now every time I'm working on something in the back yard I have those suckers on protecting my eyes. Had to learn the hard way, but hey lesson learned. Thank u for ur help Doc. :

Two patients in my family had eye exams here, and neither was automatically given their eyeglass…read moreprescription after the appointment. They both left with no prescriptions in hand! We only received the prescriptions after my daughter had to call and request them. When the prescriptions were finally emailed, the PD/pupillary distance was missing from both prescriptions. When I called after my daughter had called to request the PD, I was told the patient had to come back in person and sign something before the PD could be released. This is extremely inconvenient and unnecessary, especially when the patient needs glasses and cannot see clearly. Their glasses were also very expensive, the frame selection for my husband was very limited, and our insurance did not cover the glasses there, so we had to purchase glasses elsewhere. The missing prescription information and PD runaround made that process so much harder than it needed to be. Patients should leave an eye exam with their prescription without having to ask or sign anything, and they should not have to jump through extra hoops just to buy glasses somewhere else. The process felt like a lack of transparency and a barrier to shopping for glasses outside of their office. I would not recommend this office to anyone wo wants a simple, clear, and patient-friendly experience. By the way, I still do not have the PD to any of my husband's or daughter's prescription and probably won't get it. FYI - The FTC (Federal Trade Commission) says patients must receive their eyeglass prescription immediately after the exam, at no extra charge, without having to ask, so they can shop around. The FTC says suspected Eyeglass Rule violations should be reported at ReportFraud.ftc.gov

I am out here in VA getting to do childcare for my 10 month old grandson from birth so I wasn't relishing the thought of finding/searching for my ugly backup glasses for the remainder of my visit. Fields Family Eye care was the closest optometrist so I went straight there for help. Not only were they THE friendliest business I've had the pleasure to have visited...they put new nose pads on, cleaned the glasses & tightened all the micro-screws too. We visited a bit and there was NO charge. I asked them what they wanted for Christmas and was on my way in just a few short moments. This staff was so wonderfully proactive, beautiful office I can only say that I've already recommended them to my son & his entire family! WOW does NOT even start to say it. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

I was on the phone with the staff while pulling into the parking lot and asked if they could still accommodate me. I genuinely hoped for a little flexibility, especially after waiting three months for this appointment. But they refused and were told to reschedule. The next available is 1.5 months out. This was already a rescheduled appointment, since my first appointment had been cancelled when the doctor suddenly became unavailable. Very frustrating experience.
