My experience with Access Eye was not pleasant. I scheduled the cataract surgery for August 13 and the second eye on August 20th, 2025. Paid everything that was due plus additional 700 per eye for laser correction on distance. This cost was out of pocket which I understand. After the surgery I was told even through I have 20/20 I would still benefit from glasses. Not sure what the laser for distance that I paid for. On a September follow-up I am told that the lens that was placed in my eye have a buildup of debris and would need polishing. The tech. said its a simple procedures that will be performed on my December 4th appointment. It would be done in the office by Dr. Mansouri. After my September visit, I received a balance after insurance had paid its part of approximately 1100. The The following month which was October I started paying a $100 monthly on the bill. On November 18th I received a email saying the appointment was cancelled unless I pay in full. I called the office and informed them I would be making payments on the 22 which is my payday of every month. I was told she would speak to the higherups. The next day she called me back and informed me this was not acceptable. All future appointments was cancelled. I wrote a letter to the Access Eye stating my concerns, no response. My vision is getting worse, I am assuming debris is continuing to build on the lens that was in put in my eyes. Things that was clear after the surgery is now becoming blurry. I sent a payment of $100 on line December the 22 and it was not accepted. On Jan 2, 2026 I got Care Credit to pay off the total left of 800.00. The billing office does not reflect my balance so I called the office on plank road and was told they could not accept the payment because it is in collections. The collection agency has added an additional fee of over $300.00. I will try to work out with the agency to pay what is owed, but am not willing to pay the additional fees. Related to this surgery is also the surgical center and anesthesia cost. read more

I was going to be a new patient. I scheduled the appointment. I didn't realize there was a $50 cancellation fee. I had an allergic reaction so I went to urgent care so I wasn't going to be able to make the eye appt. When I called to let them know I wouldn't be able to make the appointment later on that day they didn't care. She just wanted me to come in anyway. Mind you I was groggy and already loopy from the meds. She seemed irritated that I couldn't make the appointment and let me know at that time I'd be billed $50 cancellation fee. I've never seen them before and at this point I never will. I've never experienced such horrible customer service from a Dr office. I paid the $50 and they never have to hear from me again. We are a family of 4 so I'm glad my husband or kids didn't have to experience this. We gladly found another eye doctor. read more

It's been over 4yrs since ive been to access eyes, I have insurance have had insurance for over 25yrs . Ladt time being here doctors were wonderful staff was wonderful. There billing department sicks obviously can't get it right. There saying i owe them still well they sent it to collectors and they contacted me about 8 months ago . So instead of arguing I agreed to pay the 10.00 co pay again nothing more. Now here comes another letter saying I still owe 49.00 more dollars. This is ridiculous they waited 10yrs to do this to my daughter. A 120.00 dollar billed turned into 700.00 that they garnished. First off access eyes wont let you see the doctor before verifying if you have insurance and getting your co pay. Beware . Will never go back nor will I recommend then. ​ read more

FYI- your appointment time is not really your appointment time. They "require" you to come in 20 minutes before your appointment but what they don't tell you is even you check in online and come at your appointment time they'll send you home and make you reschedule for being "20 minutes late". I was sent home for being at the office at my appointment time and pre checked in. It didn't help the receptionist was rude and short with me when I tried to understand how a 4pm appointment "required" me to come in at 3:40. A waste of my time, energy, and gas. This is what the email confirmation says- Step 1 Confirm your appointment and pre-register for your visit. If you are unable to pre-register for your appointment, you must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment. Pre-registration is required to maintain your appointment time. read more

Do not ever go to this establishment. Doctor Tardus ignored decades of treatments that help me with a better quality of life. The type of care I received seemed already decided before my arrival and no matter what I tried to tell the doctor he just ignored me, then told me to come back in a year. After dilating my eyes they did not provide any plastic sunglasses and I had to go outside and wait for my pickup. My eyes burned and I could hardly see and it's the worst customer service and medical care provided!!! DO NOT GO! The meds that have brought me what little relief I could get over the decades from my combat time have now been taken away from me! If I could give zero stars I would. My daughter who is a wheelchair user had an appointment this morning. I arrived ON TIME with no place to park at all... it put my daughter's appointment 13 minutes late when we rolled in the office(no 15 minute grace period). Another patron who was watching on the sideline-watching me go in circles trying find a parking spot- said the handicap parking spot just became available and actually went up and stood in the parking place so that I could park to drop my lift and unload my daughter.The rude receptionist Laura told us they would work my daughter in, but we could be the last patient of the day- all due to their parking so disappointed I don't think I will back here in the future I would rather drive in traffic to Virginia and go elsewhere read more

We will no longer be going to Access Eyes. Our family has been patients at Access Eyes since the early 2000's and have loved the care and staff. We moved to Fairfax 3 years ago and had made the choice to continue. Unfortunately, the new policy is moving away from Patient Focused. We arrived right at appointment time, stood in line and then were informed we were 2 minutes late so would not be seen. I had completed all documents online - so in the 5+ minutes the front desk took to explain that we would be cancelled we could have been roomed. There should be some grace given in the winter months with traffic. What is worse is I just received a bill for $50 no show fee. The explanation given by staff for the new policy is to keep the doctors on schedule - further proving that Access Eyes is not patient focused. read more

I have been a patient here for almost 20 years and they dropped BCBS (my insurance) about a year ago. They said I was sent an e mail to inform me, but I never received it. Why not pick up the phone or drop a letter in the mailbox! Trying to call the office and speak with someone is nearly impossible. I even went to the Plank Road office to discuss and the women at the desk acted helpless. It is so sad these companies make changes for monetary reasons and use nothing more that text messages and on- line booking to communicate with patients. I remember when I had Lasik surgery in the house on route 3 many years ago. Dr. Coleman and the staff were first class. I have been a patient for years. I was 19 minutes late to the appointment. They said I needed to pay $50 and then proceeded to not even try to get me in that day. I can tell you that 100% of the time that I have been to appointments in the past that I have had to wait 15-20 minutes every single time. By their calculations, they owe me hundreds of dollars. Needs to be investigated for insurance fraud. Charged my insurance for Keratoconus, first time, no issues with paying co-payment. Second time, charged my insurance and sent my lenses back. Stated the couldn't get in touch with me. Requested to have lenses returned, no follow-up. Third time, has to schedule another appointment in the same year even after sending lenses back for same condition. Charged my insurance, then stated I needed to pay up front for lense fitting. Refused to pay front, pushed appointment back to have the VA write a referral. VA called and said all information was in the system and appointment was set. Twice insurance was charged and i never receive the product. I will be following up with BBB, DHHS, FTC, and AAOEC. read more

They lost my glasses when shipping them to the building. Then when it got here the lenses were too small. They also didn't alert me that this happened. Then when I did an appointment they said they removed my appointment even though I was only one minute late. I have had set an appointment a while ago but they said it had to be canceled. I have been a patient of Access Eye for many years. Most recently the Doctor I had been seeing retired. I started seeing Dr. Cameron Rowe within the last 2 or so years. I have to say he is quite simply, awesome. Not only is he concerned and knowledgeable about eye care, but wants to make sure YOU are doing ok. That means a lot to me. For a busy Dr to take the time to listen about my concerns etc. I have never felt rushed going to this practice. The entire staff at Access are hands down the best in the Burg. Awful Awful Awful!! The physician was rude, the service felt rushed, and the tech insulted me. I will never return. As a nurse I know what to expect from professionals in my field of work and then was behind the lowest I've ever encountered at this particular office. Reaponse to Manager Thanks Michelle for looking into my complaints. It's greatly appreciated. 1. I personally didn't see the looks from the attendant but my daughter l did and I'm not sure why she would have to tell a story about that, maybe you didn't look at the right camera. 2. The physicians delivery was poor when advising me of her recommendations. I am also in the medical field and would never use that condescending tone with any of my patients. When I advised her of a particular eye drop that my former optometrist had prescribed at a previous appointment she spoke over me and stated that it was an over the counter medication, as a licensed nurse myself I know for a fact that it wasn't. She's rude and that I know for a fact. 3. The technician was trying to get her commission, I was trying to get the basic pair of glasses for my 10 year old, no she doesn't need blue ray lenses or transitioning lenses, I advised her several times just the basic and she still tried to upsell me. She's 10 and I didn't want to spend a lot for her glasses which happened to be a light prescription. She had made such a bad impression that we never even got to quote my purchase of contacts and lenses for my glasses which in fact would have cost a Pretty plenty. After advising her that I didn't want to use any of the services and that I would just pay my copay for the exam and take my prescription to Lens Crafters ( where I've been going for years) she then advised me that Lens Crafters didn't take my VSP insurance. Well after the service I was given I would've paid out of pocket no matter the price. I went on to Lens Crafters and purchased glasses for my daughter, had my lenses installed in my frames , and also purchased a pair of Michael Kors sunglasses as well and my VSP insurance was applied to my purchase at the time of sale. The best $286 I've spent that came along with great service and a smile. By the looks of it, I am not the only one who's had some customer service issues at this location. This is the third or fourth local vision center that I have tried outside of the military/PX channels - and I think they are hands down the best by far! Yeah, you can probably get cheaper, but when it comes to your vision, cheaper is not necessarily better. Matter of fact, it's usually just cheap. It's like wearing a cheap pair of shoes when you have to be on your feet all day. I've been wearing glasses since I was a kid; headaches and eyestrain are just not fun. And now that I have to look at a glowing monitor more times than not, and peer over my students' shoulders trying to figure out just how the heck they came up with THAT answer - well, I need glasses that are going to do the job right the first time I leave the office with them. And I need the customer service that takes into account how I am using (or abusing!) my glasses to help keep me straight. Darlene, Katelyn (or is it Caitlin? Ouch!) and Company have always been so welcoming and patient. I'm not a stylish or trendy dude by any means, but I have always had the hardest time and often the worst luck picking out frames. It really became a chore. I always wound up with buyer's remorse a week or so later. But on my first visit, Darlene looked over the few I had chosen in my hand, listened to me babble on about what I thought I wanted, came back with a couple of other suggestions, and methodically and patiently narrowed everything down to just two pairs of frames. I bought them both, and my favorite is the one she had first suggested. Their testing is thorough. They actually talk to you to find out what kind of needs you have based upon what you do. And the after-purchase care is so refreshing. All I can say is as long as I'm in this area, I'll be coming here first. True, I'll still use my military bennies here and there (after all they don't do motorcycle googles here!), but these folks really are the best. Would not recommend this location at all. The front desk and person helping with finding glasses is the worst. Ive been calling with the promise to receive a call back every time ive called for the past 3 weeks. No1 has reached put and when i call no1 seems to know what is going on. Now with the virus going on its even harder and I'm just frustrated. This is for a case that I was supposed to receive when i bought my glasses and have received nothing but the runaround. Please check your cases when you receive your eyewear. They will give you a off brand case to not match the brand of glasses you've paid for. So distasteful!!! Update: 4-13-2020 I was never told that the glasses would not come with the case they were sent with. If i was - I wouldn't have been asking for them nor would I have wasted my times 3 weeks before this pandemic came about. However, once i called for the case the lady said that they were discounted due to there only being two pair left and case should come with them but she couldn't find in office but would need to check warehouse. So not sure why you feel you know what was discussed when I never even spoke with you EVER! My purchase was way before this pandemic and I've been given not so good customer service. No communication within your office.,I received multiple calls from people stating different things. Yes we are going through pandemic now but your office had almost a month to get it right before this. I will try to find my receipt or statement to validate this claim. You are unprofessional and there is no excuse. I will gladly find a practice that is communicative and treat their customers with integrity instead of not resolving the issue way before this virus came about. Horrible experience. This was my 2nd time at Access Eye (1st at this location) I thought it would be a better experience than my 1st but it was just as bad or worse! Customer service is horrible everyone was rude. I put in the contacts the Dr. Gave me and told her they hurt. She snappes at me and said "take them out, wash them and put them back in." I have been a customer for years but this will be my last time here. I broke my glasses 3 weeks ago and went here for a prescription and new glasses. I was told it shouldn't be more than a week on the glasses. 7 business days later couldn't reach anyone on the phone to confirm they were ready despite calling 3-4 times. I went into the office and was told they just received the frames and it should only take a day to put the lenses in. 3 days later I still hadn't heard back so I called and managed to get hold of someone. This person told me they just received the glasses and they had to go through some sort of QA process and it would be another business day. They're not open over the weekend so it's another 3 days from my point of view. I don't appreciate being given the run-around and will be taking by business elsewhere going forward. read more

I visited twice, one for an issue I was having and the other was a follow up. Didn't have a great experience, the staff was very kind and friendly however, Dr. Deas was curt and condescending. I left from there thinking maybe she was having a bad day. The follow up visit was no better. She seemed irritated and rushed like I was an idiot and the issues I was having were no big deal.
