I'm going to start off with this disclaimer on my review: Playing Bingo, Gambling, and/or games of chance are not for everyone. And even if you enjoy the games, still, Bingo World is not for everyone. First, there is something nostalgic about playing Bingo -- brings me back to the rainy days of grade school when it was too cold and rainy to go outside during recess. On days like that at my elementary school, we would play Bingo every once in a while. There was always a certain thrill in calling out, "BINGO", when you connected 5 in a row. Fast forward now. Bingo World is located off the major beaten path, though not far from the interstate or Richie Highway. You can see it when you are driving on the Harbor Tunnel highway, I895. I had played Bingo for money in Atlantic City casino invitationals, so I was familiar with the concept. In my mind, Bingo didn't have a classy reputation, and thus, I didn't have high expectations. Going to Bingo World with an open mind, I had my socks knocked off. You know what they say about first impressions - Bingo World certainly started off on the right foot. First, the facility is CLEAN. I expected a lot less in appearances. Bingo World is near spotless - if BW boss is reading this, the men's bathroom is cleaner than almost any public bathroom i ever saw -- I even complimented the cleaning staff as they are in and out frequently. Second, the staff is FRIENDLY. I couldn't even imagine that any venue in the Baltimore-Washington corridor could be this friendly. Everyone seems proactive in making your visit enjoyable, and with a smile. With recent developments of gaming legalization, Bingo World also has extensive slot machines and sports book. I think slot machines are self explanatory -- Sports book lets you enjoy a beer or other adult beverage while you watch and bet on sporting events. I think with all that said, the snack bar was the finishing touch. While the food is your typical short order menu, I found that the bang-for-buck was an eye opener. I feel that the prices are so reasonable, that, they want you to have a bite to eat -- without getting raked over the coals. My friend and I got the Nachos, Fries, and Steak Sub. We were pleased with the quality and the cost. Now for the Bingo - since this is my first time actually paying to play Bingo, I couldn't be any happier. There is a first-time visitor bonus which basically paid for the entry. You get 9 bingo cards on a small book of sheets. Each sheet plays several games. I was used to bingo being just 5-in-a-row but here they play some variations to spice up the game from your elementary school style bingo. I found the games exciting and fun - and it was a lovely way to spend a few hours on a lower budget especially if you go with friends and chit chat between games. There are probably a handful more positives that I forgot to mention but this review is already TL-DR. Came here for an event on January 7th to help raise money for special Olympics. Played a couple of games of bingo. I really like how they have both paper bingo cards as well as electronic bingo tablets that show you how to win each game. Friendly staff. Also good food too. Only thing that I would complain about is that they call numbers way too fast and also they don't explain the other games they have besides bingo that they have going on. read more

Not going to lie when I think about bingo I usually picture little old ladies, mostly because its what my mom and her friends love to do on weekends. A friend planned a bingo night in their private party room for her birthday and I was excited mostly because I enjoy doing little old lady things. Since it was my first visit I got $10 off and it was mid week so I only paid $6 for my package including a computer. I didnt win but a few in the group did and the payout was quick so thats always a plus. I will say the package was too big to keep up (three pages of 9) but I felt like i had too, what if the winning board was on one of the ones i didnt do? My biggest gripe is the concession area doesnt take cards! I almost never carry cash so if i didnt bring food I would have had no options. read more

I love it here. My friend and I came to check out their 730pm bingo. This place is huge and very overwhelming. All the staff are friendly and helpful in interpreting whats going on. Since it was our first time, we got $10 off. For $30, we each received 27 tangible bingo cards (three large sheets with nine cards), a bonus pack, and a computer with more cards. It was a lot of work. The computer was helpful because it does the work for the bingo cards programmed in. The 27 tangible cards that I had was too much. I could not keep up. I ended up giving one board (9 cards) away to a pro and told them to give me 10% if they won. There are boards everywhere that allows you to see what balls were called and what ball is to be callednext. There are a plethora of knowledgeable staff members who walk the floors selling additional cards, answering questions, and confirming people's bingo calls. One of the things that I absolutely love is that you can bring your own food and snacks. Having snacks is critical because you are there almost 3 hours. Trust me, time goes really fast. They also have an intermission. Here is where people play slots, buy more bingo cards, purchase food from the canteen or smoke. Lol. The place is so large, I used intermission to walk around to get my fitbit steps. Surprisingly, I won a game. Because others simultaneously had bingo I had to divide the pot. I was cool with that as $166 is not bad for a days work. My biggest takeaway is that this is not for the elderly. Bingo is really fun. For $15 - $40, you have hours of opportunity to win money. I would recommend keeping it light and only spending what you are okay with losing. Ask yourself, "If I do not win a game, can I be okay with losing $30." If the answer is yes, then come, play, eat, and be merry. The players here is very serious and very nice at the same time. If things get confusing, you can ask the experts and they will gladly give guidance. Experts are those who have five or more daubers, trolls, 50 bingo cards in front of them, and wears a rosary. LOL. Tips: 1) Sign up for their club immediately for a $10 credit. 2) Follow their Facebook for weekly deals, there are days when it's free! 3) Grab a paper with the games listed on it. 4) It says no outside food or drink, but no one seems to follow the rules. So... what were a bunch of 30-somethings doing at a Bingo hall on a Friday night? Well - we were trying to spice things up - you know, try something new; add a little flavor to our lives. Bingo World did just this. What we didn't know is that it would also add a little anxiety. Bingo is a very serious sport for the elderly and the lonely, which is why the atmosphere is so intense. We were a very rambunctious crowd and quite often disrupted the people's mojo around us, but for the most part, people were very friendly and would answer any and all questions we had, such as: What's a postage stamp game? What about a round robin? Why are all these cards different colors? What game are we playing?! For those of you who have never played bingo outside of wedding showers and elementary school, make sure you show up early so you can ask the staff plenty of questions. There are both computerized bingo games and the traditional paper bingo, but I would suggest getting both - the computer helps you keep track of what numbers and letters have been called (the caller is no joke, and won't slow down even if you ask). Bring a dauber, or you can buy one there - but I'm guessing a marker would work just as well if you want to bring one from home. I would suggest playing just 2 of the large cards at a time (that's 18 bingo sheets, so 18 chances to win). The front desk will try to sell you a pack of 3 large cards - but don't be fooled. Unless you're a pro this is WAY too much and you get behind, become anxious that you're going to miss a number, and then lose the $500 jackpot. Don't by with winners pool sticker thingy - we all bought it because it sounded like a good idea but we didn't even figure out what it was and just ended up looking like we were wearing name tags all night. The front desk takes credit cards, but everything else is cash only, so you'll want to bring cash with you. If you forget, there is an ATM in the hall, but it has a surcharge. THERE ARE SLOT MACHINES! I say this with great enthusiasm because I can crack out on a slot machine like a fat kid on cake - but fortunately I bypassed them last night and stuck with bingo. So, when you think the evening couldn't get any more intense, you come to the final rounds of bingo where the big jackpot prize of a couple thousand dollars is up for grabs. The whole room becomes silent as everyone pays close attention to their cards. You can sense everyone's anticipation as your card begins to fill up with dots and you know any minute someone will win - but will it be you?! Then you here it - 'BINGO' from across the room, and you're heart sinks as you realize you spent an entire evening with the elderly and you aren't even going to walk away with any money... but then something goes wrong with the rules and old people start yelling, someone gets up and starts pointing and head bobbing at the caller, the caller then yells at the front desk defending their ruling, and a crazy lady runs up to the front desk to yell at the police officer who is on duty in case things get out of hand. You then realize that you're evening was not a loss, and very rarely do you get to see old people fight, and it was well worth the $20 you spent on bingo cards to witness this old people insanity. read more

Negatives: -No bars and it's not BYOB however I'm pretty sure you could easily bring in a flask. -It's quite confusing the first time around. -If you pay for the "base" deal, the timing isn't helpful. You'll play for 30 minutes straight and then sit for 20. They really need to space out the extra pay games. Despite these negatives, I still love this place. Some fun things about Bingo World: -The people working at Bingo World are so helpful and will explain how to use your cards. If not, the people around us were also very helpful. -I would suggest getting the computerized Bingo the first go around to make things easier, however I'm unsure I will get that next time I go. -There's a round you can buy-in to where the computers light up and the lights dim. This is pretty awesome. A red light moves around the room from computer to computer and finally lands on a lucky winner. -They have Hershey's ice cream. For some reason, this makes me very happy. -You can get a membership, however I still haven't had any deals text or emailed to me. :( read more

Let's clarify some of the points you tried to make: It wasn't 20 min that you were trying to "calmly" explain how the machines work, that's how long we waited for you come help us after the machine shut down because every machine running was having problems and you and the staff could barely keep up. My husband did not say the "F" word or mention that he was retired police to intimidate you, he said it out of frustration. He felt like you were basically calling us liars and he thought maybe the fact that he was former police would dispel your notion that we were being dishonest about inserting the voucher during free play which you emphatically accused us of . I find it quite bemusing that your security camera could see me flipping you off (which I never denied and again was out of pure frustration at your indignant attitude) yet when we asked you to review them to show a voucher was not inserted after the free play had begun your answer was that the cameras were of such poor quality that they wouldn't be able to show that. Now the story has changed once again and you claim that my husband was blocking their view, well which is it? Poor Quality or blocked view? I guess they are magic cameras, they can see the things you want them to and not see the things you don't. As for your 'white trash' comment, that only leads me wonder what you would have called me if I was a person of color or any other ethnicity. Not that it matters what you call me when considering the quality of the source, If you are in fact the owner, which contradicts what another staff member told me and what the property tax records show, that only makes your derogatory comments that much worse. I may have dropped and "F" bomb but I certianly didn't make it personal and resort to name calling like I was still in the sandbox. If have documentation from the MD State Lottery Commission that I was paid correctly, that's wonderful because that's all I was asking for from the get go, proof the machine paid correctly and proof that I didn't enter the voucher after the free play began as you kept accusing me of doing, So at least your 1/2 way there. No one was disputing Mr. Clemens account of the altercation, what was being disputed was the initial outcome. With every machine having problems it wasn't out of the realm of logical thinking to question the integrity of the machine and it's payout. If you look closely at my yelp reviews you will see there is a total of 6 over a span of years, not months or weeks which really isn't all that many in the grand scheme of things. As I have frequented many, many, many businesses over my lifetime (at least more than 6) calling me hard to please isn't exactly an accurate observation, almost like calling me white trash which was again, far from accurate. To warn other consumers when businesses are run poorly, when businesses are subpar, dishonest or when the "owners" resort to name calling because they have zero people skills? Wedding ring jackpot About two weeks ago while visiting a family member in Delaware I lost my wedding ring. After two weeks of searching I told myself just let it go. Working the night shift I have found Bingo World to be very relaxing and I have had better luck there than most of the larger casinos. Bingo World has a coin cash machine, as the last coin was being counted I saw something flash. I was amazed to see it was my wedding ring. I asked a manager if they could check the machine; everyone was amazed it was my ring and it was not damaged. these are the facts. the evening started around 8:30pm on January 13th, 2017 with both parties hungrier than they were willing to let on. it was a temperate night for the dead of winter. after finding an O.K. parking spot, they headed to Hersh's in Federal Hill. Hersh's was not crowded ("do you have a reservation?") and the waitress quickly informed the two people that they were out of the octopus appetizer and the clam pizza, which both individuals would not have ordered in any case (hep A). after considering for a couple minutes ordering those things anyway (as a hilarious joke), both people involved were overcome with trepidation and thankfully one of them exclaimed, 'let's not do it! let's just order.' when the waitress returned, they ordered a margarita pizza and two beers to her apparent dismay ("that's all you're getting? it's not a lot of food."). the uncut pizza arrived quickly, the people ate, and they decided to move along. the night continued with a search for an appropriate spot to grab one drink. after passing on No Idea (too crowded), a bar with urinals under the tables ("closed") and Delia Foley's (way too crowded), the people decided on Muir's Tavern on Fort Ave. They each ordered a Bud Heavy ($2.50) and individually felt guilty about their motivations for choosing such an establishment. just when the mood in the bar was noticeably dropping, a Dixie Chicks song came on the stereo, and everyone in the bar was immediately lifted. except one person, that is. the bartender was not feeling well. a few minutes into "Landslide", she started to vomit copious amounts of fluid, mere inches from one of the individuals. the other abruptly stood up ("we need to leave") and they scurried to the door, leaving two half full Bud Heavys. the time now was 11pm. the people walked back to the car, chatting about norovirus and whether or not it would be O.K. to arrive a few minutes late to the 11pm session of bingo at Bingo World in Brooklyn, MD- a suburb of Baltimore. the drive took about 15 minutes from the Federal Hill neighborhood, with the driver sticking to the speed limit and abiding by 75% of traffic laws. the establishment is located in a neighborhood (seemingly safe) but the parking lot is grim, with flickering lights, patches of complete darkness, and no hints as to what is lurking the shadows. although they had been warned by previous Yelp reviews about the difficulty of navigating Bingo World's pricing and packages ("it's bingo- how hard can it be?"), the people were unprepared at the checkout counter. they decided to stick with the paper cards and forego the computers ("we want an 'authentic' experience"). this was the wrong decision. upon taking their seats, the people were immediately alerted to this fact by a new friend and clear bingo regular. she called the manager over and it was at this point that the people were first alerted to Bingo World's Member Rewards Program, which includes a free night of bingo on each member's birthday. the manger hooked the people up with a couple of bingo simulation computers (2k17) and they were ready to begin. right now, I will take a hiatus from the story to describe the venue, so you (the reader) can visualize the following events in the appropriate setting. Bingo World is located in what can only be described as gutted ice rink filled with cheap slot machines (2/6 of the room) and long tables at which approximately 50 people were sitting with bingo supplies (3/6). there are two "restaurants" (1/6) that seem to serve the exact same fare. each menu item boasted a 33% increased risk of developing CAD. that was an insensitive joke, but I wanted you (the reader) to be able to understand the nutritional nuances of Bingo World's food options. O.K., it's time to proceed with the story. the people borrowed bingo markers from their new friend and sat in anticipation for the game to begin as she gave them a tutorial on the (complex) bingo computers. the games started suddenly and the people were immediately overwhelmed; they were working with 5 cards each plus the computers. it continued in this manner, with periodical interjections from the new friend and manager (also a friend, at this point), for about one hour (approximately 6 rounds). there was no end or win in sight. the people thought about leaving, but one of them said, "let's stay for one more game." the final game started like any other, with little promise and 25-30% of the numbers missed on the paper cards. however, one of the individual's computers was having some success. "look at this," one said to the other, "I don't want to get my hopes up but I think I might win." with one number left on the computer, tension was running high. and then, the number needed to complete the bingo appeared on the screen. the people started yelling, "BINGO!" before the number was called out by the MC ("be quiet!" I have played a lot of bingo in VA and MD and decided to try Bingo World last weekend. My cousin is an avid bingo player, so she flew in from New Hampshire to play all four sessions in one day with me. Needless to say, we had a long day but we LOVED every second of it. The staff is very helpful and encouraged us to sign up for the free membership which gave us some free play. I was also given some free play for my birthday. A nice lady working the desk also told us about charity coupons we could purchase which saved us a lot of money! The nice manager even gave us free daubers for spending the day there. Unfortunately we did not have any big wins, but that's just luck of the draw. After our day of bingo we went back to my home in VA and played a local session, then floored it back to Bingo World for the late night session. i go to bingo like 6 times a week i am not happy with the same players winning all the times it might be cheaper but if you are not in the click you will not be winning that is for sure you put suggestions or complaint in the box and no ones ever get back to you so that tells me how much you really care about your patrons you swipe your card several times a night and once again the same people win what is the point you spend your money just to give it to the same winners over and over again and for the pull tabs they should not be playing downline when there is a tab with the winning numbers behind it and once again of course all the buddies always winning them too the staff are friendly but the cheating need to stop read more
