I was pleased with their appetizers of squid and eggplant rollatini, but the rollatini was better. Our main dishes were very good - monkfish with shrimp and pork ossobucco. I would say the monkfish dish was light but with all the other food you won't be hungry. I had to take the ossobucco home became it was so much. I was surprised by the selection of desserts. We waited 40 minutes for our food. The restaurant was not crowded, in fact it was a quiet evening. The stuffed shrimp were not great and were accompanied by the most unappetizing looking mashed potatoes I have ever seen! They were awful! The Osso Bocco had a strange flavor. This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I had in awhile. The odor of the restaurant was not neutral and very food based, which tells me that the kitchen was not ventilated well enough to manage the seafood smells. The tables were too close, the lighting was too bright, and decor was very dated. Our server never came to ask us about our meal or how things were going. She took our order and then came with the check at the end. I started with the beat salad, which was really just a gigantic pile of arugula with a handful of over boiled sliced beets, flavorless feta, and stale walnuts. My husband got gnocchi and it was overly doughy, the vegetables were overcooked, it lacked flavor, and had an aftertaste to indicate the vegetables were not fresh. I got the stuffed shrimp and the shrimp had that chemically aftertaste to indicate they weren't fresh either. The spinach mashed potatoes that came with it were too bitter and lacked necessary fat to balance out the earthiness of the spinach. We will not be returning. read more

This has really gone downhill. It used to be an elevated dining experience where everything was done to perfection. Now it is disgusting food that I could order in a public cafeteria. I got the fettuccine with squash and "fried" squash blossoms. What I got was a plate of overcooked fettuccine to where it was mushy and falling apart. Squash blossoms were not fried or crispy. They were in the soup of the thing they were calling pasta and frankly the texture felt like when I cough up a ball of phlegm and then have to swallow it again. Had the texture and mouthfeel of mucous. Utterly disgusting. My husband ordered gnocchi and it seemed tolerable but was in a giant puddle of olive oil. Our entrees took more than 30 min to arrive the restaurant only had about 3 other active tables so they were probably busy overcooking the pasta. Otherwise no idea what could take this long. On a positive note they did give me a different entree which looked edible at least. Was ravioli, overcooked, drowning in cream sauce. Our waitress was not good. She was constantly bringing spoons to all her tables but I don't know why. I received three spoons over the course of dinner but didn't need them and didn't use any. Overall I used to love this place. I don't know what happened. Service is poor and inattentive and food is something I could cook at home so I am no longer coming here. It makes me sad because it used to be really good. This was my anniversary and frankly it was very depressing. The waitress should have gotten the manager because it was clear we were having a bad experience. Instead she just got me another spoon. I don't know what happened here. This place used to be perfect and top notch. Very inattentive spaced out waitress and bad food. I also edited to add that the manager was there and knew we were having a bad experience and avoided us. She went to the table next to us and started talking to the people there. I really wanted to like this place because it used to be really good a few years ago. The food is good but it's nothing to be blown away by. The service was terrible! We visited right when the COVID-19 breakout first became a thing in the US so it really wasn't that busy. Our waitress seemed all over the place. The table next to us came in after us and had much more attentive service by another waiter and actually left before us. They even got read off different specials than we did! Figure that... it took extremely long to get our drinks/refills and food. We waited probably about 30 mins between our appetizer and meals. She seemed to know her service was poor because she offered us a free after dinner drink since we waited so long. We shared the fried calamari for an appetizer. It was good and we liked the dipping sauce. I had a pasta meal with scallops which was good and a decent portion but on the pricey side for only a few scallops. My husband had the lamb which was outrageously priced and a super tiny portion. He frequently orders lamb on any menu so we were comparing this portion to what you get on average. We had a gift card to use so we decided to go to here last night. When we walked in, we were greeted by the ladies at the front desk who were all were very nice. We had a reservation so we were immediately seated in a area that was new to us. This restaurant has really expanded since we were last there, which was many years ago. It was packed! The room was very contemporary. The bread that is served was very good and there was a lot of it and we ate it all. There was a bottle of olive oil on the table for the bread that was very good. Our waiter was George and he was very nice throughout dinner. We shared the Pane Cotto appetizer. It was a casserole that consisted of escarole and cannellini beans baked with bread and cheese. It was very good. I had the pork Osso Buco served over risotto with vegetables with a very light tomato-based sauce. It was very good and the pork was very moist, the meat was falling off the bone. My partner had the Mediterranean shrimp, which consisted of four jumbo shrimp with artichoke hearts, arugula, grape tomatoes, and feta cheese and also Kalamata olives tossed would linguine. He thought his meal was very good also. For dessert we decided to share a piece of the très Leche cake, but this was a big mistake. First of all when we put the fork in it just crumbled and to us that signaled that it was very dry or stale. I really didn't get any creamy milky taste. It was topped with caramelized, cinnamon, bananas, and the cinnamon was just so overwhelming it ruined it. We told our server it wasn't good at all and we gave our reason why so they took it off the final bill. I've had quite a lot of très Leche cake in my time and this one doesn't cut it. We have been twice, once a few years ago and then again recently. I was looking forward to dinner. Overall mixed experience due to what was ordered: They have a price fix menu. Just under $30 you get an app, salad, and dinner. A great value! Many choices. Hubby had: mussels, they were good House salad, just the right amount of dressing Osso buco. Hubby like it. While it was tender, the taste was a little tinny for me I had: Zucchini flowers, they were very doughy, more than I would have liked. Well, it was okay. I would describe Bin 100 as a restaurant with nice, new decorations, trying to be high-end--but the food was sub-par as far as this type of cuisine is concerned. The service was fine, we had used the new part of the restaurant, which was completely updated. I had a fried eggplant caprese, the rolled chicken, and a brussel sprout salad, all of which weren't anything memorable or worth going back for. It wasn't bad, don't get me wrong. But, the eggplant in the caprese wasn't really seasoned, and I hate balsamic reductions with tomatoes (though it was fried well, and crispy). The brussel sprout salad was just okay, with too many big chunks of brussel sprouts. The chicken dish was reminiscent of chicken marsala, with a beef broth-based sauce, and just lacking anything more. It was also a bit dry. So, I don't want to hate, and maybe it would be a more pleasant experience if I return, but because of proximity to where I live, I don't see myself going back any time soon. I heard good things about this place so I thought restaurant week would be a good time to check it out. First of all, my friend called to make a reservations and was told they don't accept them. But when we got there they asked us if we had them?! I order eggplant rolotini, baked stuffed shrimp, and German chocolate cake. The rolotini and shrimp dishes were incredibly heavy dishes, not well balanced at all. The rolotini was like eating a log of ricotta cheese... little eggplant and boring sauce. The stuffing for the shrimp was bland and very bready. I could only eat one of the three. I asked for lemon but by the time I got it I was so over this dish. And our water didn't ask how we liked the entrees, either. At least the bread and chocolate cake were good. But I wouldn't call it German chocolate cake, it was not that style. read more

The pane cotto was super hot, crispy cheesy and tasty. I make mine a bit more chunky but it was delicious just the same. We ordered penne a la vodka but had to send it back. The pasta was crud, a step above al dente and was just grossly undercooked. The sauce was amazing but under or overcooking pasta is a rookie mistake and we were very surprised . My pork chop Sicilian style was very dry, overcooked snd tough to chew. I didn't send out back- I was hungry and didn't want to send both entrees back, in retrospect, I should have. The sauce and vegetable were so overbooked and black snd the sauce really not that tasty at all. It was a dish that couldn't ever be great the way they served it. Totally disappointed. What an awesome experience. We were a large group of 6 and the service was excellent. I recommend you call and make a reservation especially during Covid-19. We did and our table was waiting for us in a socially distanced manner. For starters we had the calamari, spring rolls and eggplant rollatini, both of these were delicious. The calamari was lightly breaded and cooked perfectly. The spring rolls were so packed with flavor (highly recommend) and the eggplant rollatini were off the charts. For our entrees we had the pork osso bucco, grilled octopus, penne a la vodka and steak medallions. The pork osso bucco was so tender and delicious. The meat fell off the bone and was packed with ridiculous flavor. The grilled octopus was very good as well. My son enjoyed the penne a la vodka and mom said her fillet mignon medallions cooked perfectly and accompanied by a spinach mashed potato. The waiter was phenomenal, he dealt with all of the orders and special orders expertly. Matter of fact he was super helpful with the menu, actually offering suggestions on what would work best and he was right. We will definitely be back!! read more

Decent restaurant with decent food, however, I would not call this a true Italian restaurant. We ordered three entrées and two desserts through Uber Eats which ended up costing over $150. I would rather go to a five star, Italian restaurant and pay that price, the price that you're paying for the food here is not represented in quality or taste of the food. German chocolate cake was in a true German chocolate cake, all around just pretty disappointed in this restaurant both dine in and take out. I dined in here for my first time this evening and was very impressed. Fresh bread and olive oil is placed on the table immediately upon being seated. I honestly could have had three baskets of bread as my meal. You can't beat that warm, fresh out of the oven goodness. We ordered the fried calamari, octopus and mussels for appetizers. Every dish was served hot and tasted incredibly fresh. The calamari and octopus was so unbelievably tender. Fresh ingredients and impeccable preparation are clearly the standard here. I ordered the paella for my entree and was blown away once again. The dish was packed with fresh seafood and meats all cooked to perfection. My first visit to Bin 100 was almost ten years ago, when I first moved to CT. I have been back numerous times, had various items on the menu and is yet to be disappointed. The food, no matter the choice is amazing, the staff, is great as well . I know my old company books the entire restaurant for the Christmas dinner. You have to try it. I took my daughter there in May for her birthday. I stopped at the restaurant first with flowers and balloons.
