    Historic home to Bill's Restaurant.

Billy's Restaurant on H St in Lincoln stands out among the others in the crowded beef-heavy restaurant scene found in Lincoln. But, Billy's isn't content to be one of the best, offering the perfect steak, homemade sides, mouth watering chicken and salmon, it also provides a welcoming atmosphere in a beautiful historic home that provides that "welcome home, supper's ready" feeling from the moment you step inside.

This was so close to being great. Appetizers of crab cakes and coconut chicken were some of the best. Unfortunately the chicken was sadly dry and pork shank wasn't cooked all the way through. It was actually cold in the middle. But the rice was mouth watering, the seasoning they used..delicious! The chicken carbonara we would order again. Dessert was hard to share, wanted to eat it all myself! Service was friendly and helpful. Great experience but I would order something different for my entree.

Everything was fantastic and cooked perfectly from ribeye that rival the finest steakhouses, to the desert, which was phenomenal!

The ambience service and food were all phenomenal. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the dessert was over the top. If you're in Lincoln, Nebraska, you have to stop at Billy's.

Yes, yes, a millions yess's!!! Being in town for my sons graduation, I went to Yelp to find a great option for our celebration meal. Billy's isn't a gem- it's a diamond!! Located in a beautiful historic house, surrounded by beautiful landscaping, and a stones throw from the capital, Billy's was one delicious and heartwarming surprise after another. Jordan, our waiter (and son of owner/chef, Nader), was gentle, kind, knowledgeable and charismatic. He was so accommodating to the preferences of the group. Shrimp bisque soup of the day was phenomenal! Fresh house salads had fresh veggies and dressings. Brussel sprouts appetizer were giant portions of expertly sauced sprouts. Tossed with onions, peppers and fresh tomatoes, the balsamic, almost general Tso sauce was perfect. I would have loved a little more crispness or char to the sprouts, but my opinion was outnumbered at the table. Ribeyes, lamb, pork shank, salmon and Parmesan carbonara were our menu picks. The portions were CRAZY big. You would think that with portion sizes so big, the quality would suffer, but NO. It was bite after bite of heaven. The owner/chef Nader came out several times to mingle with customers and won over our hearts with his sense of humor and stories. He even sent out a personal congrats on my sons dessert. In an era where multigenerational businesses are rarely found, Billy's capitalizes on it, and makes everyone feel like family. Go, enjoy, and remember what dining out "experiences" are supposed to be like!

I had a wonderful friend buy me a lunch via Grubhub to eat at this restaurant. I do lots of walking and didn't realize this is a former house turned into a restaurant. Three workers there... Alex, a lady, and another gentleman were all great people! Gave awesome service!!! My friend tipped them on line and I had to tip them even more as the food was definitely great tasting as well! I had the Bacon Cheeseburger on Pretzel bun, which had very much flavor. Burger was cooked perfectly and still juicy! The fries were even done well and the meal was also served with a good sized pickle. I really enjoyed the looks of the outside of the place and the inside gave me a simple, elegant feel. I appreciated Alex's communication with me and when my water glass was half full, he was at my table to top off! Alex is a good sport too. After having a few little mini conversations when it wasn't too busy yet, I told him he could pretty much be a Parick Mahomes look alike and we both laughed about it and he said he gets told that sometimes :) ... I definitely recommend this restaurant and can't wait to try more items here in the near future!!!

All were delicious and I would have each based on my mood. My starter drink was a Blueberry Mojito, which hit the spot. Rum, blueberry, lime, mint, and soda. Refreshing, mild, and on ice. My wife had a cucumber gimlet. "It was incredible." Food started with a unique "flight of three" soups. We each got to taste the Lobster Bisque, French Onion, and Roasted Red Pepper Gouda soups. We each picked the French Onion as the clear winner, but the others were expertly made and tasty. My entree was a starter offering, the Tuna Poke Bowl. Scrumptious, light, and filling. Served chilled in a stone bowl with chips. The Atlantic Cod and chips were great, with a couple of dipping sauces. Perfectly fried. The third dish was a lunch special, it was a pasta dish with sun dried tomatoes, roasted baby tomatoes, in a red sauce sprinkled with feta cheese. This was so good. We broke down and ordered desserts. The Green Gateau cake is chocolatey with a hint of pistachios. Also had the Apricot Napoleon Torte which is baked up in Omaha and is renowned. Service was superb, thank you Ben! with a relaxing atmosphere, classy decorations, and fun time. We will be back!

I didn't drink, but my friends had lots of lovely concoctions floating around. We shared the Parmesan Sirloin Fondue as an appetizer and WOW--this was a favorite. The house-made green chile cheese dip is basically a spicy, savory roux topped with crispy steak tips. It was rich, a little spicy, and incredibly satisfying. I really loved this and would absolutely order it again. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan, and it came with a nice, thick piece of chicken--always appreciated. The San Marzano tomato sauce was good and flavorful, and the dish was well-balanced overall. I'm a little picky about breading, and I didn't love it but flavor-wise it's spot on. I had total plate envy for the teriyaki steak bowl. It looks phenomenal and I will definitely be ordering that next time. One friend had the Moody Bleu Burger (without the jalapeños) and said it was still a bit spicy but tasty overall. Another friend ordered the Veggie Burger, and she said it was really good. She often orders veggie burgers and felt this one held its own. Someone else at the table compared it to the veggie burger at Leadbelly, with high praise. The Bistro Burger was also a hit flavor-wise--Swiss cheese, caramelized onions, and mushrooms worked well together--but the only downside was that the bottom bun got pretty soggy. Fleetwood is definitely worth checking out, and it's a little bit tricky to find, but it's right under the bridges under O St.

The head chef stopped by our table to personally explain the two specials for the evening, which was a great touch and made the meal feel much more personal. We started with the potato cakes, and they were excellent -- perfectly crispy on the outside, tender inside, and topped with sour cream that brought everything together. A simple appetizer done really well. For our entrées, I had the pasta special and my wife ordered the Chef's Chicken. Both dishes came out hot and were full of flavor. You could tell everything was freshly prepared and thoughtfully executed. We were genuinely impressed with both meals. The service was just as strong as the food. The wait staff checked on us regularly, kept our water glasses full, and were attentive without being intrusive. Overall, L's Kitchen delivers outstanding food and hospitality in a comfortable, refined atmosphere. We'll definitely be back again.

It's almost like they tried to make it more "fancy" (yellow bell pepper, herb sauce) when all you really need is the essentials. The highlight of this meal was definitely the french onion soup, it was perfectly burned with plenty of Gruyère cheese, loaded with onions. Pricing for the wagyu Philly ($14) is pretty reasonable as this came with a side. The soup was $8 which is a bit pricy for just a side of soup, although it was a pretty solid bowl. I also got a blackberry mule, it was okay but seemed a bit watered down. Service was pretty lackluster and the reason this review stands at a 2. We came midday past any viable lunch rush (130pm onward) so it was us and maybe 1-2 other tables. Taking that into consideration service should have been much better. Our server (he) was impersonal and unbothered by doing more than the bare minimum. Water wasn't ever refilled and he was inattentive unless we asked for something, but was quick to grab the checkbooks after. Per their website, Monday is all day happy hour, but we received no HH discount on the drinks. As for my own family, we've learned to schedule later dinner reservations because once we're there, it's hard to leave! Some of my sweetest memories are from bringing my mother here while she was still with us. We often ended up being the last ones there at closing because we were enjoying ourselves so much. Kevin and his staff were always incredibly gracious, never making us feel rushed, and consistently treating us like family. That kindness leaves a lasting impression. Reading some of the less-than-positive reviews honestly surprises me because our experience over the years has been consistently wonderful. We've always received excellent service, enjoyed the entertainment, appreciated the comfortable atmosphere and beautiful views from every table, and loved the nostalgia throughout the restaurant and memorabilia. And the food? Absolutely enjoyable every time. Considering the unique experience, atmosphere, entertainment, and very reasonable pricing, I think expectations should be balanced accordingly. It is 6 o'clock on a Tuesday night and it is my table and one other in the restaurant. The floor is carpeted and there are booths along the wall as well as many tables 6 top and four tops. The silverware is located in a cigar box on the table. The menu is viewed by scanning a QR code. You may ask for a paper menu as well. We ordered 6 wings half with barbecue sauce and half with Annie B's sauce. Annie B's sauce is a combination of honey mustard and barbecue sauce. We also ordered the Haystack barbecue chicken sandwich to share. It comes with fries. You're able to substitute it for mashed potatoes, green beans or you can get salad bar, or you may get mac & cheese. Not sure if the last two are an up charge or not The servers periodically get up on stage and sing. They will take requests. The barbecue wings are very good. They are double fried which gives a crisp outside skin. Comes with three celery sticks. The blue cheese and the ranch dressing are very thin. Very runny. Not much flavor to the salad dressing. Chicken sandwich is a very thin piece of chicken. I think it has too much barbecue sauce. I do like the smoked Gouda on it. However, the sandwich was cold. It should be a hot sandwich and it would get a much higher rating if it were served hot. The french fries are a thick cut curly fry. They have great flavor and great crunch. It's nice to bite into a fry and feel the meat of the potato. The wait staff is kind and they all help each other. They take turns going up and singing. It could be a request or something they choose. Oddly enough, the four songs that we recommended they knew none. So we told them to pick some thing of their own liking. Overall, the food was much better than I anticipated. Out of five stars, I would give the wings five stars but the chicken sandwich would be a 3 1/2, because it was served cold and the chicken was thin and dry. The french fries were a five. Service was definitely a five. The staff is very friendly. This would be a fun place to visit with people from out of town. It is unique to the area and the food overall was worth going back for.
