Impromptu stop this past Sunday, as we were leaving VT for home. We knew we wanted to enjoy one more Maple Creemee before exiting the state, but did not expect to be eating some amazing seafood, and bonus! The Market Prices are high, but you will get one heck of a stuffed roll. My wife decided on the whole belly clam roll and I had to try the CT Style Lobster Roll and both were fantastic. Clam roll had about a dozen whole belly clams crammed in that roll and my lobster was overflowing with a nice side of butter to pair perfect with that toasted bun. The rosemary fries were kill and the sweet potatoes were as well. Maple Creemee for dessert was top notch and the service was friendly and had us in and out within 30 minutes. The back space with multiple picnic tables needed a table or two to be cleaned up, as a previous guest(s) did not clean up after themselves. Recommend! read more

We had the Connecticut lobster rolls. They were delicious. The fries are fresh hand cut. For dessert we couldn't resist the Maple Creamies. They were delicious. They have lots of flavors of hard and soft ice cream. The property they rent has been sold. They close in September 2023. Go while you can. read more

On our way over to NY, we stopped at Billy T's Northside Dairy Bar for a lunch break on a "scorching hot" muggy day. We ordered 2 Steamed Hot Dogs, Sweet Potato Fries, and 2 Soft Drinks for under $10. The food was up and ready in about 7 minutes. It began to sprinkle as we got our food and decided to eat our lunch out in the back of the building since the picnic tables are covered. The hot dogs were very tasty as we were hungry from the long drive. I got my hot dog with the works (extra charges), which was loaded with a sweet meat sauce, cheese sauce, sauerkraut, onions, mustard, relish, & ketchup on a soft hot dog bun. My friend got a hot dog with the standard relish, ketchup, and mustard. We shared the sweet potato fries, which were very good, very crispy and not greasy and were eaten very quickly. It stopped raining as we finished our food, great timing to get back on the road! Next time we stop here, we will definitely get 2 orders of sweet potato fries. Also, they now serve Wilcox Premium Ice Cream (hard serve) and Upstate Farms Ice Cream. read more

I visited the Dairy Bar with my boyfriend and his family while in town as it's apparently a staple up there! The staff was very pleasant and took our order quickly and efficiently - even putting up with us taking entirely too long to decide on what to get. They had our ice cream out to us very fast and it was all delicious! I ordered the German chocolate soft serve (after confirming there were no actual coconut shavings on it!). It was a good amount of ice cream on the cone, and at a good price. It did have a very strong coconut flavor to it (didn't taste any chocolate) but I honestly didn't mind - it still tasted very good. I can't wait to stop by the next time I'm in town to try some more flavors! read more

$20.11 for a fried seafood platter and a bottle of water at a "fast food" joint? ?If it was really good, I would not complain. I requested a platter with fried fresh haddock and fried clam strips. What I received was a platter of very salty, dry, fried shrimp-- ( lots of 'em if you like fried shrimp) you might be happy....and totally dried out, over- fried-like-leather strips of fried clams (skimpy amount), and good Haddock. I will say, the fish was fresh, not frozen. The dinner came with both French fries and onion rings - and both were good. Coleslaw would be extra...gosh, for the price, you would think they would include a tiny dollop of slaw! The inedible fried clams ruined the experience. I wont' order dinner there again.The fry cooks need much better training for how to fry seafood. And what is up with all the salt? The ice cream is pricey. The hard ice cream is good, the soft ice cream is not very flavorful, nor is it a rich creamy consistency. I prefer Tastee- Freeze down the road. I ordered a small ice cream with hot fudge and marshmallow. My friend ordered a small sundae which had ice cream, hot fudge and whipped cream. Hers was under $5 and mine cost just over $7. If you don't ask for a sundae they won't tell you to order one to save you any cash. They charge you for each individual topping and hot fudge runs $2.50. In my opinion, they should've offered a sundae as an alternative. I don't plan on returning. read more

Mixed review. I loved my peanut butter cup chocolate flurry. The only issue with this was it was served with the ice cream all over the cup. Not sure how you serve something like that. It was a mess. My sister got a medium pistachio frozen yogurt (very bland would not order again) and my son got a small chocolate vanilla swirl ice cream. They were the same size. This place is overpriced. I thought the value for the flurry was good but not the small or medium cups. The staff working was wearing masks and there were picnic tables out back where you could eat. read more

Went to window to order two ice cream cones with sprinkles or nuts. The server/cashier returned with two servings of ice cream in plastic bowls. We immediately objected, saying we ordered cones, and were told "there were no cones available" and "didn't you see the sign explaining there were no cones." Upon examination we saw there was indeed a sign but it was one among perhaps 50-60.....and why didn't the server/cashier TELL US there were NO cones? One of us refused to eat out of the plastic bowl and wanted their money back. They stubbornly refused to refund until we became vociferous. My guess is that this is an old business started years ago by a WW2 Gen or a Boomer but is now in the hands of rude, clueless, incompetent Zoomers. The product is over priced but very good. We had to go elsewhere to get an ice cream cone in order to re-set the wheel of Dharma. Stopped at a place that served hard ice cream with three types of cones for half the price of Northside! We will never return. read more

The lobster roll is a small hot dog roll with an average amount of lobster stuffed in it. The price, however, is well above average at $11.95 each. The board says "market price;" I think they could find a less expensive market across the road at Price Chopper. Regretfully, I also ordered the fried whole-belly clams. I got about eight, sad, overcooked clams for my $8. That's a dollar per clam! The other stuff may be fine, but if you're looking for lobster or clams, go literally anywhere else. read more

If there was a negative star scale I would have put negative five stars. Five of us all ordered a flavor burst soft serve. Mine was the first of all five to come in the same condition mine did. The young lady served one first already melting off the cone as if she tried to put a shake into a waffle cone. Now any server would think this isn't frozen there's something wrong with the machine. As she realizes she asked if I want a bowl, this is a joke right? So we all get the milkshake cones in a bowl. All were a different flavor yet all tasted suspiciously like vanilla. Listen if your ganna F me at least give me a hug when your done ripping me off. Last time here, pic up a pint at your local grocery store, trust me it'll be better. What a joke read more

$10 cash or credit minimum? Ridiculous I got ice cream for my kids and fried pickles to make up for the minimum. Came to $9.55 so uped the size of one of the ice creams to make up for the $10. Well the ice cream is good. But it took forever to make the fried pickles and when I got the it was an embarrassing amount you get like 8 pickle chips for $5. Never going back. read more
