Wow, this place has some good food! Husband and I had catfish, kids had grilled cheese and corndog. Everyone was very happy! Small portions are still a little more than we would eat in one sitting. My reason for 4 stars rather than 5 was the service. Hold on... everyone was VERY FRIENDLY and polite. However, they seemed a bit overwhelmed with the house full, and no one ever really checked on us. This place is small so 3 waiters should be able to tend to everyone easily, but when I have to flag someone down to get my check it's a problem. It will not stop me from going back, I'll just make sure I choose a table that is in clear sight of the staff instead of a quiet corner. read more

Always great food and service is exceptional. I've had both steaks and they are seasoned perfectly! We try to visit every month.

Visiting with friends and enjoyed a Saturday evening dinner at Billy B's. Ordered a juicy hamburger which was perfectly prepared with fries . The burger was as large as the bread and the bread was soft and yummy. The small salad bar didn't have many options but it was a welcomed change to a side salad. The decor is rustic being in the front portion of a stockbarn. The vibe is small town TX all the way. The desserts are home made cakes, though I didn't try a piece, our friends raved about their taste. Our waiter seemed to know everyone in the restaurant which made for a pleasant experience. read more

We stumbled in while passing through on our way to Waco, and were tempted to check out the auction but ordered lunch instead. My husband had the ham and cheese sandwich, made with real grilled ham, not your deli style, and said it was the best ham sandwich he had ever eaten. My chicken salad was very tasty. The enchilada soup is the bomb! And do yourself yourself a favor and save room for desert. Coconut creme pie. Your welcome. Billy B's is now our go to stop when traveling to Waco. read more

Best service and fried catfish around! The coleslaw is AMAZING! If you are ever near central Texas, this is the place to go! Family owned and operated, they always make you feel welcome, and are super sweet ;) read more

Two nights in a row for dinner so it's gotta be the best restaurant in town. Lots of people here eating, nice salad bar that holds you over until dinner. Everyone is friendly and the food is hot and filling. This is five star groesbeck all the way. read more

Bucket list double meat bacon cheeseburger and homemade hamburger steak with freshly made mash potatoes and brown gravy!!!! It was amazing and I haven't had any better home cooked than Billy B's. The atmosphere is very down home friendly feeling and the staff is just a nice. We finished off with homemade chocolate cream pie. It's worth your drive to this small town. read more

Oh my gosh! The food was incredible! The chicken friend chicken sandwich was so tasty with a hefty piece of chicken. The hamburger was thick and juicy and the added jalapeños were grilled! Yum! The buns are extra special, sweet and soft, maybe homemade. Speaking of homemade, the fries and onion rings were both homemade and there was no chance we were leaving any on our plates. Michael was our server and so personable! *****It is not mapped correctly on Yelp , it is in the cattle auction building east of where it is mapped. read more

Really enjoyed the chicken fried steak and trimmings. The green beans were really good! The service was fantastic, and the place is very quaint. Tucked away in a cattle sale barn. Awesome! Great food, atmosphere highly recommended. read more

Had one of the worst steaks I have had in 10 years. Loaded with gristle and fat. Only able to eat about one third of the 14oz. ribeye, left about a third uneaten and the rest was a pile of crap cut out. Wife's hamburger steak was crusty black on the bottom and dry. Make sure if you order the ribeye special that you don't order it before 5:00. I got charged the normal price for my crappy steak because I ordered it at 4:50, waiter said there was no ability to change that. So the time is when you get it or finish it, it is the exact time you tell the waiter what you want. We drive about 100 miles round trip just to eat there. May not waist the time any more. read more

Quaint small diner inside the livestock auction building. Hint: you don't have to be going to the auction to stop in here. I had the catfish plate with pinto beans, fried okra, and hush dogs (hushpuppies). It was the best catfish plate I've had in a long time. Catfish breading was seasoned really well, the hushpuppies were really something special. I think the damned things were homemade not out of a Sisco bag. Really excellent. The pinto beans were spot on. The okra was just normal but fried perfectly, hot and crispy. Seriously worth going out of your way for. Can't wait to come back to have a burger. They looked outstanding when the table next to me received their order. read more

Great service. Great food. We had their famous hamburger--add extra fried onions for a treat. 14 oz rib eye wAs done to perfection. Salad bar--all fresh and delicious. Worth the drive. Say "Hi!" To Michael--the best waiter in Groesburg. Jack & Tish. read more

I want to love this place. I truly do but it just didnt meet expectations. The food was mediocre at best and the service was somewhat slow. Its a tiny place with seating placed shoulder to shoulder. The wait staff appears to be parolees and that's not a problem, but their isnt enough of them during the rush nights. By the time our order got to us my table was hangry. The order was 7 shades of messed up but since we waited so long for the food (every but of an hour) we just ate it anyway. It wasnt the worst food Ive had, but it wasn't anything to write home about. read more

When I read the reviews of Billy B's, I knew I had to try it out on my overnight in Groesbeck. It's close to town, about two miles from my hotel and the high school & football stadium, and real easy to find. So I went. Since I was alone, I was a little nervous when I entered the restaurant. There were two large parties waiting and I figured that as a single, I'd have to wait forever to eat. But the hostess has a small table that was unoccupied and I was seated immediately. My server, Michael was highly attentive and extremely service-oriented. The place was packed, and servers were whizzing around, but I didn't wait for anything. In fact, I was amazed at how well I was cared for. The menu is excellent -- varied and affordable. I ordered a grilled small pork chop -- a risky move in a place that has an extensive fried food menu -- but it was absolutely superb, perfectly cooked, and well seasoned. The salad is a trip to the salad bar, and you've got a fair selection of options to load on. Though I don't eat gluten, the meal was satisfying and there were enough options on the menu that I wasn't stuck with just one or two choices. Would I go back? Absolutely. And I'd encourage you to go. You won't be disappointed. Ask for Michael for super service. read more

Ok, want catfish? Friday night, all you can eat catfish, & it's probably the second best catfish in the tri-county area. They also have a hand battered country fried steak that is the best in the area, and if you are just stopping for a quick bite, the burger & fries are good. The waitresses have always been friendly, they know us because of our frequent visits. And an FYI, try the Coconut pie! read more

We went with a group of 6 on a Friday night, they were packed but we got sorted super fast. Our group ordered all kinds of different things but everyone thought the food was awesome. Fried Fish, Steaks, chicken fried steak, salads. You can't go wrong! read more

Great food! This is a place we visit every time we are in Groesbeck. It's often busy but the service is great. In fact, the same guy who served us last year when we were in town for our nephews graduation served us last night. He is super friendly and has a great team around him. Love the salad bar and the onion rings! read more

Stopped here a few weeks ago after a camping trip. Wanted to try a new place with southern home cooking. It was delicious and the servings were generous. I took half my plate to go. I would definitely recommend this place! It's easy to pass up but turnaround and go back. Definitely worth it and the prices were very reasonable! read more

Food was fair and came out at different times leaving everyone with their food but me. . Way too much salt on the grilled vegetables and the mac n cheese had bacon in it (yuck). Cute place though, and we will be back. Just have to try different foods until we find something we like. My wife and kids loved the chicken strips. They were thick and juicy read more

By far the BEST restaurant I've ate at here in Texas. If I could give it 10 stars I totally would. My mom ordered a stake and onion rings and I ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and it was to die for. Didn't realize the best restaurant was so close!! We most definitely will be back a whole lot more!!!! ALSO, the staff was the most kindest people around as well as the owners. Such a great business that is true to their passion! read more

Stopped here after the One Act Play competition at Groesbeck High School and just had to share how much we enjoyed the food. The salad and entries were fantastic. We had a large party, and the service was superb. I had the chicken-fried steak and others in our party loved the grilled chicken, shrimp salad, top-sirloin, and seafood platter. We will definitely go back. Order the fried pickles! We were too full for dessert, but heard the pies were incredible! read more

Probably won't be in Groesbeck ever again, but if I am, I'll definitely eat here! My chicken fried steak was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Green beans were well seasoned. Hubby had catfish which was crispy and just a tad spicy, just the way he likes it. Onion rings were done in house and we'll seasoned. Go early -- this is a popular place! read more

This place is quite an experience! At suppertime they are packed to the rafters! The dining room is small but if you don't mind literally rubbing elbows with people at other tables then it is worth your time. The noise level is almost deafening when the dining room is full. The waitresses snake in between tables rubbing up against you as they deliver food to the tables as fast as possible. It is really quite amazing to watch! read more
