So sad about this place. I had eaten here once before and it was average. This time, it was below average. There was something so weird about my pizza. I got a white pizza with artichokes and roasted red peppers. The taste was so off. I did not even want the left overs. I am usually a sucker for a white pizza but this one was not good. The pizza was a little soggy, the crust, meh. My husband and I also split the salad. The greens were fresh, cheese, dried fruit nice. But the dressing had to be some of the worst dressing I have ever had. It was like they forgot to add the seasonings or any flavor at all. Very disappointed as I had read all the pretty good reviews. I guess I am unfairly comparing to PIECE, my favorite pizza place in the city. Would rather drive the 45 minutes and wait the 45 minutes than have the convenience of the burbs. read more

I have been coming to this place since it opened and it never gets old. I like to watch my food get prepared. There is nothing subpar used in there food. It's all top choice very expensive ingredients. The cheese they use is the MOST expensive cheese you can get for pizza. Take a pizza tour in Chicago and they will tell you all about grande cheese. If anybody knows any meat better than Boars head email me. The sandwich's at bricks are better than the pizza. I also enjoy chicken baja soup which I have yet to find anywhere else. The coke machine isn't watered down or jimmyed. It actually tastes good. Also the ice is the way I Want it not the quick turn small water softener tasting style. The bathrooms are very clean. This is important bc that means the back room is clean too. Also the music is good which has been tough to find these days. If you don't know about this place, you wouldn't find it. I was here with a local because by myself I wouldn't have gone in, but the restaurant itself is pretty good. We had the goat cheese app, which I wasn't a fan of. My friend LOVED the sauce it came in though. We ordered the med vegetarian pizza. Loved the thin crust. Just went here with a girlfriend for lunch. The owner is super nice and the food is really good. It was a perfect place for us to go since I'm a meat-eater, and my buddy is a vegetarian. So say the least we were both satisfied and had good choices. I got the calzone sandwich, and it was the perfect portion. We both agreed that we were both comfortably full, and satisfied. Since we're both Yelpers we got the choice of a free cookie or carrot cake. We both got the latter, delicious, moist, and you can see the flecks of vanilla in the cream cheese icing. It was quite hefty so we both ate half and brought the rest home. All in all wonderful first visit, and the interior is clean and modern. I will def visit again :-) read more

Yum! It's nice to see an Italian-style casual pizza place in the suburbs. I was impressed with the variety of different pizzas that they offer and was quite pleased with the pizza I ended up getting - the Simply Spinach (tomato sauce, spinach, mozzarella, and feta. Yum!) I would be interested to try some of the other toppings. I don't think they have a parking lot, but I was able to get a spot on the street right in front of the restaurant. The prices are maybe a bit high for the suburbs, but I'm used to paying city prices so it didn't faze me and I think it was certainly worth what I paid. I have to say, I went into this place with very few expectations and those few expectations weren't even close to reality, but overall, I really enjoyed this place. First off, I was anticipating a quiet, intimate sit-down restaurant. It's not, it's counter service (that they bring to your table). Secondly, the pizza is very thin, and decidely not Chicago style. Neither of those things are complaints. I love the jazzed-up, pizzeria feel of this place. It combines an old concept with a very modern feel and works very well. The ingredients they make the pizza with are wonderful. I'd encourage you to create your own. Since the pizza itself isn't exactly traditional, I see no harm in really getting creative. I particularly loved the garlic oil and sundried tomato pizza we tried in addition to the capicola with standard tomato sauce. The downside is the pizzas are kinda small for the price and not at all filling. It's a good place for a lighter lunch bite, but not a full dinner, so keep that in mind. Overall, I like it a lot. It's a great location with super friendly people and most importantly, some pretty tasty food. Oh, and if you check in with your yelp app, they give you a free little bundt cake. I happened upon this cozy place by accident, I had some time to kill before a meeting and was looking for a quick meal. It took me some time to wade through all the choices on the menu! From gourmet sandwiches to salads, soups and of course, pizza! I chose the margarita pie for comparison to others, and let me say this was the best I've ever had! Even in Italy! Great crispy crust, fresh ingredients, very savory sauce and the cheese was awesome! I spoke with staff who were extremely friendly, and the decor was just right. I heard a guy ordering a chicken pesto sandwich and asked him if he had eaten there before? He said he eats there at least twice a week and recommended the chicken pesto saying he can't get enough! I took the sandwich to go, and it was everything and more! I told my family and friends about this place and look forward to eating there again soon! I will schedule all my meetings nearby if I can, in order to take advantage of this Gem in the suburbs! Bricks is definitely programmed into my navi for the near future! At long last, a place has arrived in the burbs that serves gourmet Neopolitan style pizza. The pizza here reminds me of some of the high end pizza joints in NYC. I've tried the margherita, spinach, and very veggie pizza and all were simply outstanding. Their wood fired oven produces pies with a beautifully charred, slightly chewy thin crust that has a flavor of its own. Not like the bland matzo cracker crusts you typically see on most Chicago thin crusts. You can really taste the freshness in all of their ingredients especially in the tomato sauce and cheese. I wanted to get a pizza half Bricks Pizza($11 for full) and half Very Veggie($12 for full) as I'm a meat eater and my wife is a vegetarian. The owner said he could not do it because each Pizza has a set price. I told him he could charge me for the most expensive out of the two ($12) he said it can't be done. Today was my first visit here and it'll be my only one. The pizza was so lacking that it's not worth coming back when there are so many better places to eat. I was excited to have a wood fired oven option nearby since I love a crisp, flavorful crust. Unfortunately the pizza I had today was neither. The crust was limp and not close to crisp on the bottom even though the top was cooked well. Very mediocre at best. When the pizza was brought to our table it wasn't even hot so we returned it to be reheated. It came back hot but still not crisp on the bottom. When I asked to have it reheated, they were happy to oblige but no one seemed particularly concerned that it was not good in the first place. The toppings (artichoke and pesto) were flavorful but the crust itself was quite bland. To have a good white pizza you need to use better flour and have a more flavorful crust. read more

Met 2 buddies from work there for lunch on a Friday. The place was bustling but didn't seem slammed. Simple, Bright, Clean; relaxed atmosphere. Ordered 3 pizzas: 2 were off their menu and 1 build-your-own, which tested the range of toppings and they delivered on quality and flavour. Wished there were seafood options for toppings - anchovies would have gone well with the Balsamic tomatoes and Asiago cheese. Checked in on Yelp, and it earned me a free desert. 3 flavours of bunt-cakes were offered, I went for the Lemon Zest. Too full from pizza, I opted to bag it and take it with. Nice place, simple, kind of what you would expect in say, Oak Park. Pizza is very thin, and both crunchy AND chewy. It was more healthy than the gooey greasy stuff. Ratio of dough to cheese and other ingredients is good, (as we hate to get a pizza that is mostly bread). We had the BBQ chicken and smoked gouda pizza, which was very tasty. We also had their mushroom, red onion and sausage pizza. Get the hot sausage as the regular sausage is bland. Also had the antipasto salad, which was fresh and was accompanied by a very tasty homemade balsamic dressing, but came up short on the salami, cheese, and artichoke heart.
