    Chicken Pesto Sandwich

I hate to do this -- I'm a Bricks ride or die. But today it dies. This is the third time in a row I've ordered the chicken pesto sandwich and this is the third time they have stiffed me on the chicken. Three times is three times too many. We specifically asked for an adequate amount of chicken and I was met with THIS !!! when I opened my sammy... nothing but air and disappointment. Idk who's making these sandwiches but all I have to say is this: what would Billy Bricks do?? Giving 2 stars only because the boys behind the counter run this place like the Marines

    Pizza!!!

Always a good option for lunch or dinner. Something for everyone on the menu. My kids love the pizza and the pasta. I love the pizza and the cannoli dip (yummmm).

Did take out from here via Grubhub. A little bit confusing to find via Google Maps as it was still referred to as "Bricks Wood Fired Pizza". Anyhow, upon arrival, my takeout order was promptly ready to go as indicated. Staff seemed pretty friendly. The establishment itself was pretty mellow for a Monday evening and they are open for dine in. The pizzas we order were pretty good. My favorite of the three we ordered was the Bricks signature ~ Tomato Sauce, House Cheese, Mild and Hot Italian Sausage, Mushrooms, Red Onions and Asiago Cheese. Well rounded flavor and some nice heat from the sausage. Dough is relatively doughy in my opinion, but not soggy by any means. Pizzas are brick oven cooked, so you get a really nice consistency throughout. Others we tried included the Hawaiian, which was surprisingly good (in general not my first choice when it comes to pizza), and the white arugula pizza ~ Garlic Oil and Fresh Mozzarella. Topped with Arugula, Prosciutto and Shaved Parmesan Cheese. Oddly, while I was excited to try the white arugula, it was kind of flat in terms of flavor which was disappointing. In addition to the flurry of pizzas, we also tried an order of the meatballs, which looked a bit odd with the cheese slice on top, however I will say the meatball seasoning was great and tomato sauce it was swimming in was excellent. Ended up using the extra sauce to dip my crusts in. All in all, a very good option for pizza in the area. They do offer build your own, if you don't find one of their signature pizzas that tickle your fancy. Anyhow, that's all I got on this one. 'Til next time, cheers!

Margherita pizza 12" kids got to it before I could snap the picture.

Kids wanted Margherita pizza so I ordered for carry out last week got a 12" Margherita and a 16" artichoke pesto. Bill was $42 with tax...Yikes! They told me it would be ready in 15 minutes. I left immediately and live nearby and it was already sitting in the hotbox. Got it home and it just had that glazed over look the pizza gets as it cools. I know you should really eat woodfired pizza fresh out of the oven but I just wasn't that impressed with either pizza especially for the price I paid. The margarita was OK, but nothing spectacular. Basil leaves looked a little worse for wear. The pesto base on the other za was kind of just flavorless and boring... I added a lot of parmesan and chili flakes (my own-none were offered) and that helped. Willing to give them another chance and will eat in next time. Preferably on Thursday when I think they have a discount...

At first, I was disappointed they didn't have Chicago Italian beef. So I asked what they would recommend, and the very polite lady behind the counter said, "You should try my meatball sub." I laughed and told her, "I don't know... my late grandma (100% Italian) made the best meatballs ever, but alright, let's do it." Then she asked, "Do you want peppers?" and of course my reply was, "Heck yeah!" She chuckled. When the sub came out, I have to say, it was huge. I sat down, took one quick smell and a bite... BOOM. I was instantly transported back to my grandma's kitchen, eating Saturday pasta and meatballs. I highly recommend checking this little gem out. The service, the atmosphere, and especially the food were all amazing. I definitely was not disappointed. P.S. Don't skip the desserts -- once again, absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for the memories and the great experience!

It's not huge inside Meltwich, but they have a bunch of stool seating and two booths with leatherette seating. I was excited to discover that Meltwich is halal. I'm not a big grilled cheese guy as it's mostly carbs and fat, but Meltwich has other items like chicken and beef. For example, they have a couple of sandwiches with grilled chicken, a couple burger options, even a Philly cheese steak option. They also have a variety of fries and milkshakes. I'd like to try one of the fries w/ meat items some other time. I was overwhelmed with the options, but the employee pointed out his two favorite options, so that helped me narrow it down. I went with the Southern Fried Chicken Melt (just the sandwich, not the combo). It was fried chicken with melted cheese and some veggies smushed between multi-grain bread. It was served very hot, so after a couple of attempted bites I decided to take it home to eat. It was very tasty. It took about 12 minutes to come out. I definitely plan to go again and try some other items. Service was excellent. I think pricing was fair ($12.95 for the sandwich only, plus tax & tip) considering the size of the sandwich; it was enough for two people, quite frankly.

I guess I need to roam around downtown Glen Ellyn more often... some friends and I gave it a try for lunch on a Friday. After stepping inside and taking one glance at the menu I knew it was going to be great. The menu has a ton of sandwich options, some pizzas, and a cooler with side salads and drinks. One bonus: they have little samples of the side salads, which is wonderful! The potato salad is incredible, by the way. Besides the menu being very easy to read, the staff is very friendly and willing to answer any questions you have. I went with The Viking sub, a potato salad, a bag of chips (Deep River, yum), and water (free and flavored with lemon!). It took just a minute or two for my sandwich to be made but the ambiance is chill and inviting. One small critique: they could clean up the "storage" feel to the place. We ate our meal al fresco, as those are the only tables they have, but it was enjoyable because the weather was nice. Most others grabbed and went. The food is outstanding! The sandwich was absolutely delicious and the toasted bread was perfection. Piled high with meat and toppings it is easily the best sandwich in the west suburbs. The Deep River chips are a great pairing, as always, and the potato salad was everything I was hoping for. In all the meal far exceeded expectations and I left full and happy. My friends were also equally impressed. If you can't already tell, I'm a fan... a BIG fan... of A&G's. The fact that it is right here in downtown GE... I'm in heaven and will be frequenting it often!

The area probably has a better Italian deli the residents will tell you but I'm in town once a year so next year I will try another Italian deli until I find one to start a new tradition like my old friend for many years that is no more. My final thought is that the price point is similar to the chain sub restaurants with a high quality sub sandwich and why anyone in the area that goes to a chain with this gem is beyond me because they do an authentic Italian sub very well.
