I have been to a few Brick's Pizza locations and they have all been a good experience. It has been some time since I have visited any location but my favorite was the Oak Park location! They had an amazing warm cookie skillet with ice cream on top and man... that was to die for. My favorite sandwich was their Pizza Over Grinder... think of a pizza in a sandwich form. Billy Bricks and I have had a relationship for a little over a decade, so it's incredibly disheartening for me to leave this review: Billy, you've fallen from Grace. When you switched the bun on the Kahuna Tuna from pretzel to white bread, I stuck with you. When you lowered the portion sizes on the Chicken Pesto, I, still, stuck with you. When you changed your bag of chips, I reluctantly convinced myself "he'd never do this again. He's usually a good guy. He just... acts like this sometimes :( " so, I stuck with you. But now? I ordered pizza and salad to go and when I arrived to pick up my order I realized to line order went to another location. I was told to not worry about it, they will whip up the order in 5 minutes, and they would call the other location and take care of it! That's what I call over the top customer service. The pizzas were great! Delicious crust and just perfect. I also ordered arugula salad and a Caesar- both excellent. It's rare to find a good Caesar and I was impressed. I've eaten at Bricks a number of times over the years and always had a good experience. However, when I ate there last night, while the food was as good as ever, a number of things were off, to the point where I might reconsider eating here in the future. I will note that this was on a weekday night, and my party of two arrived about an hour before closing (Which gave us plenty of time to eat still--we left about 20-25 minutes before closing). This may explain some of what happened here, but doesn't excuse it. Our table ordered a pizza, a salad, and a side of pretzel bites. The food all arrived at the same time--actually, the salad arrived last, since we had to remind the staff to bring it out. We had assumed the salad and perhaps the pretzel bites would come out before the pizza, and probably wouldn't have bothered with the salad if we had known otherwise. The cheese sauce for the pretzel bites was cold, room temperature or even a bit colder. When I asked staff, they said it was supposed to be that way, but I've gotten pretzel bites here before and am just about positive the sauce wasn't cold before. The cold sauce had an unappetizing texture and didn't stick to the pretzel bites well. Only half the tables had shakers with parmesan cheese, which I noticed when I went to get my shaker and noticed that my table didn't have one. It wasn't based on table size; our table was one of the larger ones, but still lacked a parmesan shaker. To me, it felt like management cheaping out. We had asked for the pizza to be well done, but when it came out, it clearly wasn't. Perhaps most concerning, when I went up to the counter about half an hour to closing to request boxes, a large vat of shredded cheese was just sitting open near the cash register, practically asking for late-coming patrons to cough or sneeze into it. The food was still great. The pizza was delicious, the salad was very good, and while we brought most of the pretzel bites home to try them with actually warm cheese sauce, what we had of them was good as well. But with all these little details that seemed like staff either didn't know or didn't care about providing an optimal experience for diners, I'd be reluctant to eat in the restaurant again. read more

I hate to do this -- I'm a Bricks ride or die. But today it dies. This is the third time in a row I've ordered the chicken pesto sandwich and this is the third time they have stiffed me on the chicken. Three times is three times too many. We specifically asked for an adequate amount of chicken and I was met with THIS !!! when I opened my sammy... nothing but air and disappointment. Well. The Margherita is really fantastic. If anyone has a better suggestion for Margherita i would love to know. I haven't found one. Well to be honest i have found a better one and that was far away in Naples. This is actually better than what i have had in Prati Rome. Son: I like this place and it is one of my faves but i worry because i got a pizza with:bacon pepperoni salami and pineapple 14 inches and it was 26$! but it was good :) and i hope you try it. Dad: Is it good? Yeah, it eats well enough. But it's hard to justify the price. Billy Bricks (called BRIX when I first reviewed this place many years ago) has a bunch of specialty pizzas, but none of them are meaty, which my son wanted as a reward for a great test result. So we got a basic 14-inch pie and added four toppings. The combined cost of the toppings was $10. I just can't wrap my head around that. Our take-out order was for the pizza and two sandwiches (meatball and chicken pesto), which both came with potato chips. My cost for this order was $50.33. Fifty? I had to ask the order-taker for confirmation of that first number. My meatball sub was tasty, but it wasn't that big and came with a whole bunch of heartburn afterwards. The wife's pesto sandwich was good but sloppy. The chips were decent. I think we'll still visit Billy Bricks occasionally, but it can't be a regular dinner stop. I could've gotten a pizza at MOD with more toppings for less than half the cost. That place is corporate and this place is local, and I want to help my fellow neighbor. But $26 for a 14-inch meat pizza is way too tough to swallow. read more

Did take out from here via Grubhub. A little bit confusing to find via Google Maps as it was still referred to as "Bricks Wood Fired Pizza". Anyhow, upon arrival, my takeout order was promptly ready to go as indicated. Staff seemed pretty friendly. The establishment itself was pretty mellow for a Monday evening and they are open for dine in. The pizzas we order were pretty good. My favorite of the three we ordered was the Bricks signature ~ Tomato Sauce, House Cheese, Mild and Hot Italian Sausage, Mushrooms, Red Onions and Asiago Cheese. Well rounded flavor and some nice heat from the sausage. Dough is relatively doughy in my opinion, but not soggy by any means. Pizzas are brick oven cooked, so you get a really nice consistency throughout. Others we tried included the Hawaiian, which was surprisingly good (in general not my first choice when it comes to pizza), and the white arugula pizza ~ Garlic Oil and Fresh Mozzarella. Topped with Arugula, Prosciutto and Shaved Parmesan Cheese. Oddly, while I was excited to try the white arugula, it was kind of flat in terms of flavor which was disappointing. In addition to the flurry of pizzas, we also tried an order of the meatballs, which looked a bit odd with the cheese slice on top, however I will say the meatball seasoning was great and tomato sauce it was swimming in was excellent. Ended up using the extra sauce to dip my crusts in. All in all, a very good option for pizza in the area. Went hear Saturday afternoon for a late lunch. Ordered the 14 inch White arugula, and new arugula salad to split with the boyfriend. Very delicious. Easiest to eat the pizza by folding it in half, as the crust is super thin in the middle, but nice chewy edge. I'll def go back and try another pizza. Restaurant was nice and clean, good beverage choices, though the fountain drink machine was sort of hidden, so I didn't know that was an option. read more

Kids wanted Margherita pizza so I ordered for carry out last week got a 12" Margherita and a 16" artichoke pesto. Bill was $42 with tax...Yikes! They told me it would be ready in 15 minutes. I left immediately and live nearby and it was already sitting in the hotbox. Got it home and it just had that glazed over look the pizza gets as it cools. I know you should really eat woodfired pizza fresh out of the oven but I just wasn't that impressed with either pizza especially for the price I paid. The margarita was OK, but nothing spectacular. Basil leaves looked a little worse for wear. The pesto base on the other za was kind of just flavorless and boring... I added a lot of parmesan and chili flakes (my own-none were offered) and that helped. Willing to give them another chance and will eat in next time. Great pizza and service. We got a 14 inch ultra thin pepperoni and sausage, an apple cranberry salad and Billy Bread. It was all great. I saw my first ever Pepsi machine with the flavors like the Coke fountains you see everywhere. If this were local we'd be back. read more

I delivered one of their pizza box trucks they use for catering and special events. It's a very unique vehicle unlike anything I've ever seen before...a beautiful pizza kitchen on wheels, but it's just a truck without what they got going on in those ovens. This is a very good pizza. Ordered a byo pizza with Giardiniera, mushrooms and red onions. The bad: crust is tasty but undercooked and flimsy. Cheese tastes more on the bland side The good: the sauce is excellent, not too sweet. Good amount of Toppings. Would consider trying this place again and asking for better cooked crust. read more

I'm not sure I've ever eaten in here, but I get takeout on a regular basis, particularly on "Two for $20" Thursdays (two 12" pizzas for $20 or two 14" for $30). This pricing also comes up regularly on LivingSocial and possibly other places, and if you're into loyalty programs they have one. I don't like loyalty programs, but I do like that they email me coupons from time to time. We usually just get pizza, though we tried their pasta recently (an alfredo mix with pesto in it - fine, but not as good as the pizza). They have a couple of vegetarian options and are flexible about changing ingredients if you want to mix it up. I love wood-fired pizza and am fond of their Very Veggie. Parking is sometimes a bit hard to find in the neighborhood (no lot, street parking only) but you usually won't have to walk more than a block or two. read more

I'm giving Bricks 5 stars because of their great service. I haven't found my favorite food item there yet, but the customer service is top notch. They are friendly and warm, and there is just something about seeing the owners each time you go, enjoying themselves and their customers, really caring about your experience and meal, and also adding personal touches. The food and ingredients are of high quality. They have unique pizzas (I had the Hawaiian Pizza that had fresh pineapple, ham, cheese, cinnamon, and almonds on it!) sandwiches and salads. They make them fresh and bring them to you nice and warm. I also had a Kitchen Sink cookie (white, milk and dark chocolate chips, pecans and walnuts and oatmeal and raisins) and they offered to heat it up for me and then cut it into 4 triangles to make it easier to eat and share with my friend- thoughtful! The restaurant is clean, there is a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, I enjoyed the music (Beatles, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, etc.) and I like the neighborhood feel, customer service and personal touches and attention. 5 stars. I've only had two items...bruschetta and the caprese sandwich. Both are fabulous! The bruschetta is some of the best I've EVER had. The tomatoes and basil are always super fresh. The balsamic is aged perfectly for the dish. Sometimes it has fresh parm, sometimes it's grated shaker parm. They feature cookies from an Oakbrook bakery that is usually pretty good. Fresh, delicious and well-prepared food. I have not tried the pizza yet but I've stopped in a half- dozen times for soup and sandwiches for lunch and everything has been great. The dining area is bright, clean and spacious enough that you don't feel squashed up next to the table next to you. Surprisingly, it is not loud even during busy lunch rushes so they have some nice acoustics built in. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Quick service too which is helpful if you are on a tight schedule. read more

Not fantastic. Plain cheese pizza reminded me of Chef-boy-ardee from decades ago. Pretty bland. Stromboli was ok but could use some extras to boost the taste. The worst thing was the Uber eats delivery. It was cold. Didn't pizza delivery used to have thermo containers to keep things warm??? This was just sitting on her car seat, along with 2 extra passengers. I wonder if she's running Uber Eats and Lyft at the same time. This pizza didn't last long enough for me to get a picture. That's how good it was. I chose the Build Your Own Pizza option. I got mine with Soprasetta, Spicy Sausage and Bacon with the house cheese blend and smoked Gouda. The sauce was sweet with a nice balance of herbs. The meats were tender and flavorful. And I'm glad I added the smoked Gouda. Really rounded it out. Super nice people and great pizza. Can't ask for much else. read more

We stopped into Brick's Wood Fired Pizza for lunch after an appointment and we had a quick and tasty meal. Having been to another location (Wheaton) we knew what we were getting into and that's why we were there - we already knew which sandwiches we wanted and they came out hot and fresh and tasted delicious. There seemed to be a slight delay in making the food, which was odd because there really was not a crowd at all... but, like I said, it was worth the wait. The restaurant itself is clean and well-kept and the staff was friendly and accommodating. If you're looking for a quick bite of well-made and tasting food then this is your spot.
