Markin, the tech, arrived on time as promised per the app. He cleaned the connections very well. Luckily they were in great shape. He got the car battery to start but it died as it was over the Toyota warranty and just couldn't hold the charge. Replaced the battery for $168.94. Getting an email for new battery warranty. I placed a AAA service call and this company showed up to pick me up. The driver had an attitude from the get going. We run into an argument caused by a different destination address provided by the dispatcher. The driver got upset and took it out on me. When I told him not to talk to me like that, he stopped his truck suddenly and asked me to get off from his car, without my authorization, took my car back to the pick up location, swore at me and my brother several time using the f word. After taking my car to the mechanic I realized something happened to the transmission. To add salt to the injury, a few days later while driving the car, A noise started coming from the back side of my car and I discover all lug nuts from one tire were loosened and were just about to come off. My wife left our car on the street on street sweeping day. We tried to pay for the tow before the guy took off with our car, but he took off while we were getting the cash together. An unusual experience. I was driving to and from Salem with the family. The undercarriage protective cover started coming off and scraping on the ground. I couldn't drive on the highway and needed help fast. It was a Sunday, and most auto places were closed. But not Bill's. They graciously figured out how to remove the cover and charged me nothing. I gratefully thanked them and headed home with the kids. My regular mechanic was astonished to hear this story. You probably shouldn't expect free emergency work on a Sunday. They were hired by AAA to take my car to the Honda dealership. My car was in pristine condition with an electrical fault. When it arrives at the dealership it was undriveable with loads of body work that needs doing. Looked like it was dropped or dragged from the back of the truck. What more is there to say. Unbelievably disappointing service especially compared with the experience I had the last time the car was towed through a different company who were more professional, and more thorough. I had an excellent experience with them today. I tried to hire Todisco's towing out of East Boston and they jerked me around (see review on google for details). The guy I was purchasing the machine from recommended Bill's to get me out of the jam I was in due to the other company not following through on what they promised. Bill's was on site within 20 mins of the phone call to them and had me loaded up and ready to go in no time! Was friendly, efficient, didn't waste any time. Unloaded promtly once we got to the location, gave me the bill, and was on his way. I would highly recommend hiring them for scheduled towing of vehicles, heavy equipment, etc. I'm sure that the negative reviews are probably related to the mood people find themselves in when they discover their car has been towed. I try to treat people the same way I treat cops if I get pulled over for doing something wrong - if you are a jerk to the cops - they are jerks back; if you are polite, often you find yourself in a much better situation. Same thing for tow companies (or any service industry) - if you deal with angry people being verbally abusive all the time, you aren't going to coddle them and be nice while they are being nasty to you. Came home to someone parked in my assigned parking space in downtown Salem. The tow company of record that was listed on the signs at my complex was Bill's Auto Clinic. I called the number listed to have the car parked in my assigned parking space towed. Being October in downtown Salem, they were extremely busy, and informed me that they would be out as soon as they could. I called back to inquire an estimated time, at which time the dispatcher became very irritated stating that they were extremely backed up and had 10 other calls in front of me. I asked if they could give an estimate of the time and he informed me that it would be a few hours. I asked if there was anyway that my call could be expedited if other calls were less urgent. This is when things got nasty.......The dispatcher said "what makes you think that you are so f***ing important that you should have your call f***ing expedited." When I told him what I thought of him and hung up, he called back on a different phone number which he informed me was the other shop number (978) 265-4381. He then proceeded to use extremely vulgar language telling me what he thought of me and threatened to "kick my a**." At this time I told him to lose my number as he was continuing to spew obscenities over the phone, even as I hung up. When procuring a tow company in the Salem area, if you need them to be expedient, polite, professional, or non-psychotic then avoid this company because they possess none of these traits. read more

What a SCAM! The people that work for this company are shady and don't run an ethical business whatsoever. Our cars were towed during an unannounced street cleaning at 11pm. One of the workers hooked our car up to the tow as I was standing there, waiting for a vehicle in from of it to move, then said "it's already hooked up, I'm not releasing it" and began to swear and yell at me. Obviously getting towed is never a great experience, but they went out of their way to be rude, unprofessional, and wouldn't let us pick up our cars because they were too busy. We had to call the police department to get them to release our cars. The operator we spoke to was just as unprofessional and rude on the phone, screaming at me that he was busy when we asked when we could pick up our vehicles in order to avoid paying yet another fine. I can't imagine how anyone runs a legit business this way and I will be following up with a formal complaint to the BBB and the mayor's office, because that is who they are contracted with. Good luck if you ever have to deal with them and be ready with a police contact because that's what you'll need to get anywhere with this place. read more

This is a towing company that six. The only reason why they are in business is because of triple A the help is extremely rude. No management to talk with. Very rude and unpleasant to deal with. I can't say enough good things about this company. I have an older Land Rover they have helped me with many times over the years. They have towed it over 50 miles to the repair shop at all hours, started it and today they arrived to jump start in less than 5 minutes after I put in the AAA request. All I can say is that Tommy ( I hope that was the name he gave me) was an absolutely unbelievable!!! My car has been stuck in my parking lot with faulty spark plugs and needed to be towed literally two blocks down the street to my mechanic. And of course post snow storm there were snow banks and other obstacles. The first AAA call sent someone from Bills that said he couldn't get into my parking lot because he didn't want to risk getting his tow stuck and there were too many cars parked in the side street in the way of the entrance to my lot. Not his fault, but I attempted to try AAA again this morning and I can't tell you how happy I am that Tommy was sent from Bills!!! He's an absolute Beast with that tow truck!!! He did what he had to do and reversed the truck over a snow bank into my lot and off he went with my car!! I was speechless and almost in tears as it's been a very trying couple of days dealing with not having a car and trying to get back abs forth to my work. Tommy saved the day!!!! Do not use this company. They gave me a price on the phone and then after the tow the driver tried charging me $30.00 extra. When I asked to speak to his boss the driver said he was unavailable. So we argued he tried to hook up the car. I stood in between the car and the truck. I then called the number that was on the truck. As I was explaining the story to whoever answered the phone the driver got his boss on the phone. So the driver handed me his cell phone. I tried to explain what went on and his boss cursed at me and told me "to pay whatever the driver says or your f###en car is gonna be gone. I ended up paying the extra money to defuse the situation. These people are crooks. I can't believe the city of salem hasn't shut them down for price fixing and screwing people out of their money. Do yourself a favor and use a different company. read more

My truck got towed to this lot from Marblehead. I called first thing when I found out my truck was there and the guy was nice enough to let me know that I had to get the truck by 5pm or I would be charged more for storage. I got there at 330 and it was the price they told me that morning. It's a typical garage so you should expect to deal with some guys that are rough around the edges but my experience was good overall. 9 times out of 10 it's your stupid mistake that caused your car to get towed. read more

The owner ( I assume, his cell phone rings when you call the number on their website), told me the fee to release my car was $90 cash - no checks. I only had $100 in cash with no change. He said "Ok - I charge you $100 then." He then took 15 minutes to release my car because he couldn't detach the cable from my car and a cop had to show him how to do it without damaging my car. He then took off without giving me a receipt, telling me I had to find him at his business later. When I went later, I asked for the change he didn't have earlier. He said "Nah - I've already spent it." He then tried to argue I had earlier given him a 'tip' of $10.00. When I corrected the receipt to reflect the actual amount, he threw my license on the ground, and walked off saying "You're not getting a receipt, now!". When I pointed out that I had given him money, in the presence of a police officer, he relented, but only to give me ANOTHER receipt for less than the total amount. This guy is a straight-up liar and swindler. Don't go near him. And WHY is the Salem Police using a jerk like this who cannot conduct honest business? read more

1 star is a compliment. Your tow guy Mike left me and my 2 year old at a property with a car with a blown motor to push the vehicle up a hill in 30 degree weather. After I had called triple A your guy Mike shows up to "help us" he shows up and gives me all kinds of excuses why he's not going to tow the vehicle because it's not stock height that my names not on the registration and so on. That honestly should've been a warning of what was to come. And after he had ME steer and help push the vehicle, while I left my two year old in another car screaming for me. Once the car was on the truck, (by the grace of God) We then drove 5 miles to the location for him to then refuse to drop the vehicle in the driveway because he told the owner of the home he wouldn't promise not damaging the driveway. He tried to drop the car 4' from the curb In the middle of the street and left ME and my 2 year old daughter to push the car up hill in 30 degree weather at 6pm at night. Then had the audacity to say he was doing ME a favor. Some favor you did Mike. Do yourself a favor do NOT use this company they clearly don't care at all! My elderly car finally died, and I decided to sell it to a auto junk yard. The yard offered pick up, which I took since the car was no longer driveable. As the yard does not have tow service, they used Bill's Auto Clinic. The Auto Clinic office called and said the truck would be there in 15 minutes; 45 minutes later, the truck pulled into my parking lot. The driver did not get out of the truck or even address me, just sat in the truck and handed me the bill of sale to sign. He grunted angrily when I wanted to see my money before I signed over the title. All in all, the driver was completely rude and unprofessional. Among the very rude comments, and unprofessional staff. There very unpleasant, rude, and very grotesque. The way they handled business is with "an eye for an eye" motto in there mind. If you get on there bad side one time they'll repeatedly try to make life for you and your car a living hell. The delivery time is horrid to say the least, the drivers and staff seem like they don't know the normal way to communicate with people. Worst company ever! My daughter was in a car accident and someone slammed into the driver side if her car. The insurance company was totaling it. We went there and cleaned it out. They never said I had to sign paperwork to release the car. The insurance co told me they won't release it until I do. I called back and they said we can't fax it and we are only open until 5:00. Well that's great I work until 5:00 and not close to them. They then said that I can call on Saturday and let them know when I will be coming and they will have the paperwork ready. I did that and he said well I can try and find it for you but if not you will need to come in on Monday. I got angry and let them know and they then said great well now we are not going to have the paperwork for you until Monday. How can they hold my vehicle hostage. I will make sure everyone that need to use a company doesn't use this one! read more

I felt like I was paying a ransom when I showed up outside his building late at night in the freezing cold to pick up my kidnapped car. At first over the phone he pretended like he didn't know where my car was but after waiting outside in the chilling darkness for 30 minutes he came outside and the first thing he said was "You want your car? $130" from across a fence. So I showed him the money and he drove me over to another temporary lot thats in the back of a neiborhood and totally unsecure. Bill's Auto Clinic started towing my car from a Dunkin Donuts parking lot in Salem. My toddler was with me and the driver said I'd either have to pay him or he'd leave us standing there. I spoke with Dunkin Donuts who said they didn't ask him to tow, but that he will troll the lot on slow afternoons to make money. My complaint wasn't the first. The manager apologized for it happening at all. This was on a Sunday afternoon in 40 degree weather. Only three other cars were in the lot. We stopped to get ice cream across the street, then back to get a drink to go. This man is a greedy predator, actually looking for an opportunity to make a buck. He took my cash and I won't be back to that Dunkin until they find someone else to troll their lot. Call them and ask them to find someone else who doesn't stalk the customers. The driver, named Bill, was rude in general, yelled at my spouse, did NOT correctly attempt to jump my car, refused to answer a question about towing radius (instead asking again if I wanted to go to his shop) and then took longer to get my car home to me than it took to walk there myself. I have auto experience, but I feel that as a woman, I was treated extra poorly and my "service" was based off the idea that I may not understand what was going on with my vehicle. read more

My car was in an accident and was towed to bills auto. When I found out that my car was totaled I tried to make arrangements to get my car cleaned out. Trouble service, when I called rude on phone. I went in to try to clean out my car. First day I walked in the office was treated like crap. I twisted my ankle in the lot so I left. Next day I come back and asked the person at the desk (same person) if they could possibility move my car because I could not get in to clean it, and I tripped on a rock yesterday. I was told I should watch what I was doing. Know I'm mad. Luckily one of drivers herd me and assisted. I went in to talk to the owner about what happened thinking it was his businesses he would care how his customers were being treated. No he did not. His basic answer was I could have charged you 90.00 to tow your car in the street and charge you another 90.00 to tow your back car in lot. I wonder if the cities or insurance companies this place represents knows what they are doing. I also wonder if he was sued for my swollen ankle if it would make them change there tune.
