Now tbh this part is what made me teeter between a 4 or a 5 ... when I walked in there was no type of greeting I had to go to the bar to figure out how they ran things. Which the tables are first come first serve and you order at the bar. Once I was able to grab the attention of a bartender they were super friendly. Great atmosphere and kinda "chic" retro vibes. It was pretty poppin also for a Wednesday. The smash burger came pretty quickly, the fries were bomb and reminded me of old school McDonald's fries when they cooked in lard/talllow. The smash burger was right on the money. Delicious pickles and a house sauce and thin patties with crisp edges , proper smash! I also got their salad and that was GREAT! Super fresh tasting and the sauce was so good! I would def recommend this place to people either needing a drink or a bomb smash burger !

This drink was not very Islander like I thought, It was more like I was drinking Tony Soprano's cigar ashes. SO, I decided to follow up with a Garden Mai Tai. The mai tai was good but honestly a cup of juice would have duped me. Fries were yummy, typical. Instead of rice, you can get mashed potatoes. There are two other sides outside of the ones I chose: mac & cheese and cabbage. The small bowl came at $9.99, I got a separate side of mac & cheese and my whole order came out under $20. The person who took my order was super nice. Then I unwrapped The Chicago, and took a bite. OMFG! I absolutely could not believe how good The Chicago was. It's not really that different than The Tulsa, the main differences being that it comes on a Kaiser roll, is seasoned with celery salt and includes pickled peppers. But the sum of the differences elevates The Chicago into a different realm. I could barely finish The Chicago after already eating a Tulsa, but I eventually did. And I savored every bite. I ordered mac salad as a side but was there was no way I could eat even a bite with those two sandwiches. I ate the mac salad with dinner that night and loved it. The best baloney sandwich I've ever had was what my grandmother used to make---thick slices of baloney (the kind with the red film around the edge) on white bread slathered with mayo. Sorry, Grandma, Baloney Maroney's is MUCH better. I was expecting a thick slice of baloney but it was shaved. I ordered the Tulsan. The white bread was toasted perfectly, the lettuce and tomato were fresh and that shaved smoked baloney.... No words. The chef was so friendly. Good price too.
