I recently spent four months in Oxford. Soon after arrival the tires on my manual wheelchair went flat. I only know that was the problem because it was so difficult to move. I spied a bike shop next to the coffee hangout. Bike wheels and chair wheels have a lot in common I knew but I didn't expect the shop to know that. And there would be the super fit wondering what I was doing there. After working up my courage I paid a visit. I was wrong--nobody blinked. They admired my titanium bike, its nifty wheels and knew all about how to fix it and the who-what-and-where of suppliers. There was the master craftsman Doug, a crew of equally skilled workers and a bunch of young people learning the trade. I was not unique in any way--they have many wheelchair riding customers. I was able to go in and get my bike fixed in a day! It was clean, the staff was friendly, I felt like my concerns mattered and they explained everything to me! This is genuinely the best bike shop I've ever been to. I've had horrible experiences at other shops, but this place is awesome. The guys who work there are knowledgeable and honest. Their prices are fantastic and they never tried to up-sell me. The work I had done was completed very quickly and for less than I expected, and they're always prompt to pick up the phone. The one time I brought in something they couldn't fix (not their fault, it was an old bike and the parts are no longer available), they were honest with me and didn't charge me a dime, even after the bike was in the shop for several days. As a broke college student, I usually try to do everything myself and avoid bike shops at all costs, but service at this place is worth every penny. Consider me a loyal customer. read more

I've been in this shop twice- once to look at bikes and the other to see what maintenance would be necessary on a bike I had just bought. The first time I was there, the staff was very helpful and courteous and helped me find a bike size that would fit well. The second, I brought in a bike I bought on Craigslist to have them look at it and see what kind of repairs would be needed; knowing very little about bikes myself, they could have told me they needed to replace everything but the frame and I would have believed them. They went over the whole bike, aired up the tires for me, oiled the change, and told me everything looked like it was working great on it. I walked out of the bike shop without being charged for anything but the lock I bought for it. These people are very nice and very honest. read more

This is a shop that knows what's going on in the biking community. This may be the only bike shop in Oxford, as far as I can tell, but it's the only one I need. Many of the people here ride, and some even do it competitively, so I have no problem asking what they think about the latest gear. Everyone is friendly and there's a great selection in the shop.
