Having recently moved to the area, I needed to track down a decent bike shop. I used to ride and race a bit, but I remember those bike shops where you were ostracized if you weren't a part of the "in crowd". I was hopeful this was not one of those elitist shops. They aren't. Thankfully these guys do it right. I was greeted by both the mechanics in back and by Steve who helped me place an order for a Kuat tailgate rack. Having read the other reviews, and noting one about lack of communication on a back ordered rack, I can say I had the opposite experience. Steve and I spoke 3 or 4 times over the week the rack was to ship and arrive and he was kind enough to eat the labor costs of putting the rack together for me, once it arrived (although delayed, it did arrive when otherwise expected). We spend an additional 30 minutes going over rack use, installation and maintenance. I applaud the folks at Bikesport for creating a great bike shop, laid back environment and their customer service. ordered a bike back in May. We were told that there would be a 6 week back order. Bike Sport never communicated the status. We called one week before the presumed delivery. We were then told it will be an additional 4 weeks. Just called again (after waiting 3 weeks) and are told it will be another 4 weeks. Bottom line ... very bad customer service when it comes to communication. This is a $2500 bike. I had previously ordered a $3500. bike and the communication was the same. I am very disappointed in their communication and even more so since they are holding $1200 of my money. Ginny did contact me regarding the lack of communication. There was a misunderstanding on their part as to when the delivery was promised. They are have promised to do better in their communication. read more

They claim to be the "best bike shop in Pennsylvania." I don't know about that, but within 25 miles of Trappe, absolutely. I've been taking my bikes there for many years to get my annual tune-ups. At the same time I have new tires put on, and a new chain and cassette (that's the rear gears, for you non-bike people) if needed. Altogether that may run me close to the price of a cheap bike, but I'll gladly pay that to have peace of mind during my long riding season. And if I ever need an adjustment I don't want to mess with, like the derailleurs, they'll do that any time they're open for free since I got my bike there. But they're a lot more than just a bike repair shop--they have a wide selection of top-of-the-line new bikes. Occasionally they'll have pre-owned bikes as well if you don't want to pay for a new one. They carry any accessory and clothing you need for your ride, and get this: there's a separate women's section. What makes them different from the chain stores is their service. They don't try to sell you stuff you don't need. You'll spend enough on what you do need and they know that. They are courteous, friendly, and professional, and there is never any pressure. The only thing I would suggest is, if possible, have your bike work done in the winter when you're riding it little or not at all, because you'll probably be without it a few days But if there's an emergency during spring or summer, if you call them they'll take care of you ASAP. I'd recommend Bikesport to any cycling enthusiast. Over time there I've had the pleasure of dealing with Topher and Ginny, who are still there, and also Jim Z., Peter H., Keri S., and Greg P., to name a few. Truly can't say enough about how impressed I was with the service today. My adult autistic son and I stopped in today to have his bike repaired and the employees in the store seem to have immediately recognized his needs and graciously treated him with kindness and dignity. So our local bike shop in Phoenixville shut down and I had to get a few bikes worked on for the season and I ended up a Bikesport on a referral by a friend. Wow! What incredible service and Jim, the service manager, was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. Jim went above and beyond the service I expected and even hooked me up with a few extra items to keep my bike running like new. This kind of service is what separates different stores and the service at Bikesport is topnotch. Great clean store with all the best new products and bicycle options. I've found a new home that'll keep me and my collection of bikes very very happy. I'll definitely have to take my friend out to dinner for the great referral. I recommend you come here for all your biking needs! I'm not an avid biker so it can be intimidating walking into these pro bike shops where people are talking about bikes worth hundreds/thousands of dollars. Fortunately, this beyond amazing bike shop exists where I took my craigslist (cheap but sufficient) bike with rust and all to get a new wire for the break. While I was a little embarrassed and it was a busy Saturday, the guy in the back repair section of the shop took the time to find the right part AND helped put it on the bike! I wish I remembered his name because it was so helpful. Further, upon noticing the seat was low and I merely asked how one goes about raising a bike seat, he took the time to get some tools to take the seat off, lubed it and put it at the right height for me...wonderful! If I ever need biking accessories like a helmet or even a new bike, I am coming here. I really appreciate the great customer service and service. Thank you for your help awesome bike man! Good selection and knowledgeable staff - the woman working the register was a bit crabby to fellow employees and to us. Really knowledgeable,friendly staff. Talk to Steve!! We bought two bikes with kick stands and bottle holders from them and a bike rack . They had my husbands bike in stock but had to order mine. Ordering took two weeks. When we called them they said our bikes were in but wanted to actually see them to make sure. My husbands bike wasn't there anymore (computer glitch). They couldn't even order a new one due to back order for two months so my husband found a different bike there. He actually likes his new bike more than the original one. My bike came in the wrong color (they were out of the black) but they gave it to me as a loner bike (brand new) and ordered a different color bike for me. We picked the new bikes up on a Thursday. I road the bike for 15 miles over the weekend and started finding reasons I didn't like that type of bike. There was nothing wrong with the bike itself just not a good fit for me. So Tuesday (there closed Monday's) we went there hoping to get a different bike before mine came in. Steve helped us the first time and he helped us again the second time. He's very personable, down to earth, and easy to talk to. He listened to what my problems were and had me try a couple bikes out in the 90 degree heat. He was right there with me outside making slight adjustments to the handlebars and seat. Steve went the extra mile to make sure I was happy with the bike I chose. All in all the bike I had on order and the bike I got evened out in price and everything worked out smoothly. Best bike shop in the area. I won't go anywhere else!!!
