Came in with a flat tire on my bicycle and he was able to fix it pretty quickly. Excellent service and pricing ($10 for inner tube and $10 to replace it), and I'll definitely be back to replace my chain soon. We chose this store because we did not want to shop at a big box retailer and wanted to support small, local business and we also liked the idea of purchasing a bike that was fitted to the child and already built. I read the Yelp reviews for Bikes for Life and was impressed with the comments customers left. The business is 32 years old and that longevity was a huge selling point. We received EXCELLENT service at Bikes for Life! So much attention to our child's needs and honest, knowledgeable advice was given. The owner really knows his bikes!! He took time to make sure all of the nuts, bolts and connections were well seated and adjusted if necessary. He adjusted the seat and filled the tires to the correct pressure for the new rider. I've been in need of a bike for several years, but I've relied heavily on running and other impact-intensive activities to stay in shape instead. However, after two knee surgeries I feel my running days may be a thing of the past and even my sport therapist, a cyclist himself, told me that a bike would be a better option on my knees. He recommended Bikes 4 Life in Antioch. I went in, not knowing much about bikes, having already borrowed a friend's bike, ridden several times with my son over the previous week, and knowing for sure I needed a bike of my own. The loaner bike was done for, made clear by every ride lol! Even the owner of the bike shop, Chong, said the same. He sold me a new bike for a slightly higher price than I wanted to pay, but after everything was said and done, it was the exact bike I wanted and needed. However, this was was no upsell, and he didn't use any kind of impulse-buy selling tactics either. He showed me what I needed. I thanked him. I went home, slept on it, went on another few rides with the crap loaner, and went back in a few days later to put a deposit on my new bike Like I said, it was a bit pricier than I wanted, but it was worth it. Its been several weeks and I've now brought Chong the loaner bike for some maintenance, my son's bike for new tires and pedals, my husband's bike with a shifting issue - which Chong didn't even charge me to fix! He tells me exactly what I need to do, and what I need. He doesn't sell me stuff I don't want or need, and he's a master at his craft. I've gotten all the other things I need from him as well, like a helmet and any other cycling accoutrements. I will NEVER go to Walmart for a bike again. My kids will now get all their future bikes from there, and no other place will get my bike business. Chong is the man. If you want an awesome bike and great service, go see Chong at Bikes 4 Life. Newbie here. Well in went bike window shopping at rei and was eyeing a coop drt 1.1 for $499 but wasnt feeling it and on a whim went to this shop just to check out what they had. I found out about the marlin 6 which was $600 and it had a lockout fork which the drt 1.1 doesnt have. I didnt wanna spend $899 for a coop drt 1.2 just for a lockout fork feature and i'm a super newbie so this was perfect. Though i guess i couldve gotten the marlin 5 which was cheaper than and more like the coop drt 1.1 but nah lol. I came in the next day after thinking about it and got sized for a bike and had it ordered since it wasn't in stock. I'm short and so are my legs lol so i was informed that it would be best to get a bike a size smaller than what the website recommended. Just took two days to arrive. After taxes it was $650 and i just went up a gravel trail and the bike was good going down on my way back. Since i didn't know anything, i asked and he showed me how to remove the tires if i ever needed to to patch a tube and gave me rundown on shifting gears and also said he moved the shifter closer to shift it easier. Also showed me how to put the lube i bought for the chains for every other week i believe? Haha. Very informative. There's also that sealant stuff in the tire he put just in case of a hole i guess if i dont have stuff? Anyway, come check this place out, i recommend it as a newbie. read more

I needed a new seat for my PK fast bike and the seat pole that comes on the bike doesn't allow for ordinary seed exchanges, so the owner of the shop help me from 1 to 10 he explain to me the different seats he also explained me the various different seat poles that he had available and let me choose and then explain to me the type of ride I was going to get and then he installed the seat on the pole so all I had to do was come back and put it on my bike and set Height adjustment .... I had never been in here until yesterday. My cruiser had a flat, and I knew it was going to be a persistent problem given the road and trail conditions by my house. The owner suggested new liners, one new tube, and some goo for inside the tubes to help prevent flats. Right now we are in the middle of covid19 shelter in place, and he did a great job managing the demand at his store. One customer at a time inside, wearing masks, protocol posted, sidewalk marked in 6' increments. I was also very pleased that despite his overwhelming increase in business, he was able to repair my bike the same day. The owner was courteous, took the bike in with no fuss, advised us that he was going to be closing for the thanksgiving week, but that he would try to have it ready by Friday. My Neighbor needed her bike fixed, so I called to inquire about repairs. The Owner said they could fix it, but I could expect a 5 week turnaround time. It was little more than a flat repair, so I drove over and purchased parts to do the work myself. Found they deal with customers 1 at a time, outside for COVID safety. I want led to go in and check new bike inventory, but She states that we're out of stock on pretty much everything. I did see new Trek Bikes in the boxes needing assembly. She stated that those bikes were special ordered and were already sold... Hard to do business with them right now. They blame COVID for it all. Came to B4L to fix a stuck cassette. After informing me that he is backed up for repairs, I asked him to give me an idea on how to fix it. Prepared to spend hours on learning something new. Chong took a quick glance at the cassette and gave me a suggestion that saved me time and money. I pulled out a tool and fixed it immediately, in front of the store. Since he saved me money, I asked him if he has any bikes for my daughter who is six. He had a new shipment that was delivered. One of those bikes was meant for my daughter. I purchased the bike. He built the bike and had it ready the next day. He looks like a one man shop, but he acts like he has the time to care for every person who visits. If your looking for a slick salesman who will kiss your behind, don't go here. If your looking for a professional that speaks truth then Chong is your guy. I had issues with disc brakes bought from eBay, Chong tried to install brakes only to discover they were bad. I have never gone to a bike shop before and this was my first visit. I had gone in to fix my 26" bike back tire and a smaller 20" bike front tire. The tubes were bad. There were 3 people in line when I got there and Chong took me in within 10-mins. He's super fast and super helpful. He will not sell you anything you don't need.
