Harry, Frank and the whole gang run this small shop with the same efficiency and quality as a much larger business. They know everything motorcycle from scooters to Harleys, and have always helped me customize my bikes without breaking the bank. It's seriously impressive how this small business operates with laser accuracy on estimates, guided by honest and hardworking professionals that handle every one of my weird motorcycle requests (special ordered risers to making custom leather soft-lowers for my Harleys oversized engine guards). They do everything from custom leather work, patch sewing, gel saddles, apparel, gear, parts, service, inspections, sales and flat tires! I have been getting great prices on gear, parts and service for years and they have never let me down with their accessible shop open weekdays until 6. Today was an absolute above and beyond experience. My rear tire went flat on Father's day and not one tire shop was open or could even respond to helping a guy on a motorcycle. With one phone call to Harry, he got me in, Frank fixed and explained the issue and saved me tons of money on a busy Monday (when other shops are closed) Not to mention, it's Laconia bike week! I came in with a Honda VTX 1300 and overall the work on the bike was OK even though they ignored certain things and I had to constantly remind them to triple check if they had it done. Even tho they missed one thing I asked them to fix multiple times, when I go to pick up my bike I have a whole panel missing and they tried to imply I was try scamming and mad me feel like it's my fault. I ended eating the loss because I was tired talking to the dude up front who don't give a fuck his job or anything. I like the store, I like Harry but the "500 Mile Scooter Service" coupon is a rip-off. The coupon says: "to receive this service (regular price $207.84 / prepaid price $185) you must call the store in advance to schedule an appointment." NOWHERE does it say the service must be prepaid when purchasing the scooter! And to add an insult, the charges included "$10 for fuel," even when l just filled the bike's one-gallon tank, as well as $14.99 for "scooter oil - 2 stroke" when my engine is a 4 stroke and doesn't use any "scooter oil." Talking about nickel-and-diming a customer after repeatedly screwing up the paperwork! Very disappointed. read more

After I dropped off my motorcycle they actually had it repaired in just a few days as they have a lot of parts in stock that I could not find elsewhere. Terrible! Scammers!!!! Had my bike for 9 months!!!!!I brought my 1988 Kawasaki Vulcan in for new tires and a tune up in August of 2018 and didn't see it again until May of 2019. I told Harry I would be willing to put NO MORE THAN $1,000 into it (as the bike bluebooks for about $850-1,100) and he agreed. I called once a month for NINE MONTHS and finally they got around to "fixing" it. They decided it was more wise to take the carburetor apart THREE times (at an average of an hour of labor each time) rather than just replace it. Duh! Again, this was a 1988. I paid $200 initially (do NOT do this) and he still tried to charge me an additional $1,700. I talked him down to an additional $1,500 for a total of $1,700 and still feel like I was completely scammed. Harry made it sound like he was doing me a favor by "only" charging me that much, but it was complete bullsh*t. After picking it up a full human pregnancy after dropping it off, I drove the bike for 40 miles and the battery died. They had my bike for NINE MONTHS, a 1988 mind you, and the thought never occurred to them to replace the battery!! This is clear evidence of careless, shoddy work. The owner is shady, the mechanics are clearly unqualified and this place is a complete rip off. Motorcycle mechanics are famous for being scammers and this place is not special. You'd be better off putting yourself through school to get the skills they lack. I wouldn't take a Huffy here to get a new seat put on. Zero stars. After hearing the response from the owner, it's even more of a bummer because they fail to acknowledge their negligence. Again, NINE MONTHS! Biker's Outfitter claims that the parts that they "sent for" took NINE MONTHS to arrive, apparently by pony express....across the ocean. Clearly not acknowledging their lack of knowledge concerning carburetors (or common sense) this place is a rip off. My snowblower was picked up in the middle of September and dropped off not fixed missing two pieces in the middle of October I find this unacceptable as a consumer as I have never been treated so poorly by a company in my life, it's almost like they refused to do the work because it was too hard. I find this to be bad business practices and so wouldn't the attorney general I have since had one piece brought back to my house they are holding hostage my auger stick, I would not refer them to anyone after being treated so poorly, if you do business with them watch your back they call themselves technicians but they couldn't even replace transmission and a cable. Hopefully they return my Auger stick. If not I consider that theft, again I was willing to pay whatever it cost they tried to turn that around that it was too expensive. They had my credit card on file there was no excuse why am I snowblower wasn't fixed before it was returned I will never do business with them again I asked them to remedy the situation but they refused and refunded my money again bad business practices read more

Went here today to get my little brother a scooter and everything was seeming to go well until they accidentally sold us a customers scooter and when we went to get our money back the nice lady that helped us told "Frank" what happened and he didn't listen and told her no refund and had to fight for our money back as we were standing there confused and aggravated he was very rude and very unprofessional I left feeling mistreated and pissed off read more

Was told this place was good so I went there to get a diagnosis to see what was wrong with my bike, it was having some electrical problems (the bike still ran) they said yeah sure and I told them I wanted a tune up on the side they said yeah sure. Long story short I waited 7 weeks for a tune up that cost $500 (which I never had a problem with my gears and now it has a problem getting into first some times) also got the bike back and didn't run! then for them to tell me 7 weeks later they didn't want to work on the bike just would do the tune up. Even when I called they didn't seem like they wanted to talk ( which I called every week lol) nor would they tell me if they have done anything or not or let me know what they were doing. Definitely do not recommend the place if you don't know owner personally because that's how that shop is ran. read more

Worst experience I have had with a small business. I was lied too regarding the cost of the repair on my lawnmower. If they tell you it will cost 118 (for a "tune up", mind you), know that they will tack on at least another 34 dollars. Somehow a 168 dollar invoice became a 202 bill. Absolutely zero transparency. Could have just bought a new machine. They told me it was because I used the gas that actually came with the machine and guess what, they sell the same exact container of gas there. Was also told it would take five days to get the machine back but I did not get it back until two weeks later. Want a bike that will have constant issues since purchase, leaving you to walk home for miles time and time again? Want to get no kind of sympathy from guys that could moonlight as bong shop employees? Want to get accused of tampering with a 5 day old purchase so that they won't take responsibility for something they said they'd fix before pickup? Want to get talked down on in front of other customers while the owner smokes cheap talon cigs indoor? Well then look no further! ... Seriously I'm trying to make light of how awful of an experience I've had with Biker Outfitters. Left with $3000 WASTED. They appear friendly and professional when you're making a purchase but after that they could care less. When I first called in my breakdown on day 2, the response was "Well that's why you get a warranty, bring it in" like they expected it.... Bring it in HOW?! Walk the bike back for cities? After about 5 more visits, one time the bike shut down as I was riding away from a repair, and I realized they have no clue how to fix this. Further inspection on this bike from my countless visit shows that it is used. Funny that I would see bikes for sale on fb or other places then see a dirty scooter with a tag in their lot. I can tell that mine was used beforehand and sold new. If you keep coming back for fixes like I did they will try to intimidate you and turn you away. Imagine paying for a bike that you only got to ride a handful of days and the sellers act like YOU'RE the problem when you want it fixed? When I said I want another bike after all these issues they refused and had the nerve to say "You saw the wording on the paperwork when you signed you know what you got" Like man say you're a scam without saying you're a scam. Even another tech tried a few things and couldn't fix. So now I have an expensive decoration on the side of my home. My friends got serviced here and bought from here, but now that's no more. Also posting this among different scooter/biker groups in Boston. These people are the absolute worst. Now to wait for some lying response like I see with others. I came across Biker's Outfitter's last night when I needed immediate help and walked in right before they closed. You know when you get to a store at the last minute before they close and you can tell the employees just want to go home? Yeah, not these guys. I was kindly greeted at the door and was introduced to the owner, Harry. Harry helped me out and gave me an incredible deal. I really wanted to like these guys but unfortunately, my experience with them was not so good. I brought in a jacket to inquire about adding pockets for armor in mid-Dec. Harry took it and said he had to ask the tailor if it's possible. He said he would call me the beginning of next week to let me know. Next week comes by and no call back. I called the shop and he said the tailor has been out all week. Ok, no problem, but how bout a phone call to let me know there's a delay with the quote - that's just basic customer service. Another week goes by and I get a call from Harry with a quote. I agreed to his quote. He said it should take one or two weeks This is around the holidays so I know it may take longer. No problem since I'm not riding in December. First week of January comes by and I called to check up, their reply was "It's not quite ready yet." Ok, so I assumed they started to work on it. Another week goes by, no news from the shop. I call them again and a woman answers and said Harry and the tailor are both out of the office. They'll call me back. Another week goes by and no call back, I call them and finally talked to the tailor. He said it can't be done. It's too complicated. Come on! I left the jacket with them for over a month and it took them all this time to tell me they can't do anything to it. Why did they give me a quote if they can't do the job? Why did they say "It's not quite ready yet" if they never started the work on it? So my review is more about their customer service, which in truth, was always friendly and courteous but they just seemed very incompetent. Jack does amazing work with leather. If you are willing to take the time to let him get it right, you won't be disappointed! He made a custom leather and alligator seat cover with 2 matching back rests, a windshield bag, and matching saddlebags. When there was an issue with matching leather they didn't give up, Jack went out and found a hide that looks amazing and made all pieces match perfectly. If you want a rush job, go someplace else but if you want quality work from a true artist, go to bikers outfitter. I can not wait to show off my bike! read more

I took my jacket here for repairs. Multiple zippers, a scuff on the back and liner. The older gent that does the repair is the same dude who worked on this jacket years ago and that repair is still holding. The work was done on time and on price and he seems to have brought some of the dried out areas back to life. Essentially gave the old girl a few more years before I finally outgrow the waistline. I don't write reviews much anymore but this guy is a gem of an old school leather repair shop and even though they are basically the only shop in the Boston area they are really good. Watch for overcharges on snow blower repairs! I understand that this has been a record winter and that their service department was overwhelmed but from the time I first called until they finally picked up my machine was one month. One of the other reviews speaks about basic customer service - I had the same problem with repeated calls and their inability to estimate when they could come. It then took them three weeks to getting it fixed. The frosting on the cake was they charged me for pickup and delivery even though there were signs all over the place (including the traffic island across from their shop) that stated pick-up and delivery was free. When I questioned the bill, I was told those signs didn't apply once they got busy! read more

WHAT A DISASTER! Had my snowblower repaired at Bikers Outfitters. It cost 400.00, it came back running worse than before. they said they had to replace the carburetor. Plus the pull start was 10x worse than before. I almost wrenched my arm from pulling on it because the pullback. they took it back because of the pull start cord was frayed, which it wasn't before i brought it in, and retuned it but still ran like crap. Then the handle came off the pull cord.!! The electric start was the only way to start it now. So this last storm, it died half way through doing the sidewalk. I'm not taking it back there. Totally not related to motorcycles! I, like many people left my search for a snow blower too late! All my closest dealers said that what I wanted was unavailable, anywhere, at any price, end of story. Then I saw Biker's Outfitters on Craigslist, advertising Husqvarna. Why not give him a call? Harry made no promises, but said he would call around. The next day he calls to let me know he has found what I want, and is working with his Rep to get it to our area! We arrange a date and time for the delivery, and Harry shows up after loading up in a monsoon-like storm and driving half way across the state. We then spent an hour assembling the snow blower in my garage and giving it a test run to make sure everything is OK. From start to finish this was an excellent experience, from a small business that wants to go the extra mile! I would highly recommend these guys. read more

I try to do my part in supporting local small business's. I gave Bike Outfitters a try having them perform a basic tune-up on my snow blower. What a disaster i dropped off the machine in August and called them every other week checking on it. Finally I picked up the machine in October to get it home and found gas leaking from carb. Apparently they let it sit without running it dry. I immediately dropped off the machine that day. They had to order a new carb and once it was repaired I picked up the machine in December. They didn't replace carb. and still leaks gas. The good folks at maestranzi brothers picked up/delivered the machine in two days repaired...bingo that's how business's should operate. whew. read more
