My mom and I had a great brunch at Box St All Day with her ordering the smoked Gouda pasta salad with salmon and me ordering the Steak with frites. Both meals were great, however my steak was a bit too rare when I ordered medium-rare and the eggs had the whites a bit undercooked as well. The mimosa I ordered was stronger than I expected but it still tasted nice. The highlight of the meal was the Berry Me Softly cocktail which the bartender recommended to me! Delicious and not too tart.

Our meal consisted of; risotto to start, for me, the short rib and my sister ordered the prime beef tenderloin. Too long of a wait to sit down even with rsvp,…read more Most of the food was good. The charcuterie board was awesome. The goat cheese was very nice. The burger was very disappointing for me. I like the idea of the French onion burger, but it just didn't come together well for me. First, I thought it was overcooked we asked for medium, and I would say it was medium well and then the texture just wasn't there. There's no grill char to it. The caramelized onions ended up giving a similar consistency with the burger it just had no distinction to it. And our waitress was very nice and attentive. I just wasn't wowed by anything (other than the jelly on the charcuterie) so I'm not sure if we would be back. I was surprised my wife didn't get the dessert but she did say she enjoyed it.

We arrived kind of early for lunch, I think it was around 11:30a on a random weekday. The parking lot was kind of full but I found a space. Make sure to inquire about getting parking validation, as my license plate was recognized by the parking service company even though I didn't get any kind of paper ticket. The menu was clubhouse fare, nothing too fancy, which was fine. We shared a Caesar salad, which they split for us into two bowls. The bowls were high sided like soup bowls. Not ideal but it was fine. I really liked the cornbread croutons, and I'm usually not a crouton eater. For my meal I got a cheeseburger with upgraded sweet potato waffle fries. I think my daughter got a grilled chicken burger, I can't recall. Service was great as we were the only people in the restaurant for a while. Or crazy about the country music pumped right at us, but I guess they think that's the kind of music that should be played for the setting? Overall a decent experience and I'll be back for my next quarterly Surpass credit.

The patio seating has partial shade and fan misters, and there is usually live music for good summer vibes. The service has always been friendly and timely. Parking at the outdoor mall is usually a little difficult because it always a bit busy/crowded. There is handicap parking and a low rate hourly paid parking available outside the front of the restaurant.

Additionally, when we received the text that our table was ready, the host seemed confused as to what we were doing back (we were the only one on the wait). The server Isabella walked past a few tables around us multiple times, never asking if we had been helped. After waiting to be greeted, she did not even offer an apology just seemed to be bothered even more, mind you we came in an hour and half before close. We decided to head over to Kona Grill at La Cantera instead. I made a reservation just to be safe and we checked out the menu on the way over. Upon arrival at 6PM, it was pretty empty and got seated a little earlier than our reservation in a large booth as requested, good start. Once we sat down we noticed how dirty the seats and floor were. No biggie, it was probably very busy earlier. Apparently, we were given the wrong menus but they matched what we saw online. While we were giving our order for what we already thought was overpriced selections, our server tells us we had the wrong menus and handed us special Christmas menus. We'll, after taking a few minutes to look it over, what we noticed what was a much smaller menu, with everything priced about 15-20% higher, for the same items. Huh? They had one Kids item, a $19 Turkey Plate and the lowest priced items for adults was the Sushi starting at $22. All of the apps were $25 and up, including the regular sized, and underwhelming Calamari. The menu was marketed as a special, limited time menu, but seemed like simply a limited, higher priced menu. My wife's Margarita was $17 and filled to the rim with ice. Just not a good value at all. I got the Steakhouse Burger and again, very underwhelming for the price tags of $29. My sons Fried Rice was $34 and was not a shareable item. If we knew this was the menu, we would have just waited at Ding How. My reservation did not mention the special menu and neither did the website, from what I saw online. Guess you live and learn...and I learned just to wait for what you really want. It was a blessing to be together and to afford a dinner like this. Times are are hard and we do not take it for granted at all. We appreciate the staff that we're working on Christmas Eve and hope they were compensated a bit more based on the higher priced items.
