Beware this place charges extra to work on 'e-bikes'. It took 2+ weeks to surprise me with a $267 bill for installing two LED lights on a bike I bought from them. Expect to wait longer and pay more. Service here is amateur at best... They cut the steer tube on two brand new bikes before we even rode them. They removed a crank arm on my bike when installing LED lights and didn't use a torque wrench to replace it, so it fell off 12 miles later and left me stranded miles from home. They didn't use waterproof connectors when installing integrated LED lights so those stopped working after a couple weeks. They don't have a software license to service Bosch electric motors. So, to install my LED lights and enable the software feature, they had to bring it to their friends at the Pacer's Bike Share. Matt never replied to a single email I sent requesting quote for parts. I could go on, but I'd leave it at this, I've been riding bikes my entire life and I've never experienced this level of indolence, incompetence and bad faith at a bike shop. I honestly fear for people's safety that are getting their bikes serviced here, and getting ripped off for subpar service. After Bike People messed up my bike, I ended up going to Indy Cycle Specialist (ICS) to have them fix all the mistakes that were made by Bike People. After experiencing all the mistakes, being made to feel unwelcome because the bikes they sold us are such a hassle, the extended wait time, and the surprise 'e-bike' service fees; my wife went to ICS to get the same LED lights installed on her bike. ICS did the work in 1 day and there were no surprises in cost. 50+ miles later, her crank arm hasn't fallen off and the LED lights still work. Imagine that. Matt tried to contact my wife to get me to remove my initial 1 star comment less review because he thinks she bought the bikes and that somehow that makes any difference. You're not going to get me to remove a review by talking to her. It's pretty pathetic really, considering that I'm still a customer that bought two bikes, paid for accessories, and services. This place deserves less than 1 star and as far as I'm concerned Matt owes me at least $167 if not more for having to deal with all the nonsense.

Hello fellow bicycle enthusiast's! I don't even know where to start. The name in itself "BICYCLE…read moreHOSPITAL" wow! Way cool!! That is exactly what it is! the ultra talented Charlie Sr, charlie Jr & Jennifer are masters at their craft! They breathe new life into older bikes. Tune up newer bikes & everything in between! Great inventory. The owners have owned it since the 70's. Their are different bike shops in the city. All of them are good. The bicycle hospital owners are down to earth, very friendly, smart, super helpful, great customer service & very knowledgeable! Need I say more...sure why not! Charlie Sr is just a very personable, very cool & laid back guy. Coolest voice I have ever heard. Always eager to help. He helped me get my trike into the truck. If a grateful dead tribute band plays around here. It would be the best to hang with charlie! Charlie Jr. What a fabulous person he is! For a young guy he definetly has learned everything about the trade! Is very good at explaining things. All 3 staff members work so well together! Last but not least...the amazing Jennifer!!!! Sounds like a magicians act! She can have multiple things going on & makes everybody happy. Her smile & laugh are infectious! Once again very customer service oriented! If you don't feel welcomed here. You must be from another planet! I think of them as my go to bike people. More than that...I think of them as good friends!!! I am not running for political office. But I would like to say...my name is Daniel e. Stonehouse and I approve of this message!!!! Peace out!!!

One of the Best Experiences I've Ever Had!…read more We recently participated in a team scavenger hunt with Pedego Electric Bikes Indy and it was an absolute blast! As someone who hadn't ridden a bike in over 20 years, I was a little nervous -- but the electric bikes were incredibly easy to maneuver and so much fun to ride! Scot and Cathy, the wonderful owners, made the entire experience smooth, welcoming, and memorable. Their kindness and passion for what they do really shines through. I'm new to Indy, so solving the clues and discovering local landmarks added an extra layer of excitement. Chatting with Scot and Cathy to see if we guessed correctly made our victories even sweeter! And of course, I can't forget the real stars of the show -- Hamilton and Schuyler, the adorable "employees of the month," who greeted us with wagging tails and made us feel right at home. I may be a little biased (our team did win, after all), but this was hands down one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had. Whether you're a local or just passing through, I highly recommend checking them out. Pedego Indy is an absolute gem!

Responsive to all needs in all the right ways in an absolutely gone-wrong world of manufacturing…read moreand shipping deficiencies known to end such businesses overnight. It's hard to feel served by a business that falls short of pre-Covid-19 expectations. That's because you haven't been served. However, since that is the unavoidable reality in the world of bicycle shops, you will have to adjust those expectations if you want any substantive interaction with it. Here's what you should know to make that eventually happen: Gray Goat fails in no wise to understand the hardship in that for you, and it shows. For example: If a bike you want isn't available due to a manufacturing or shipping delay beyond their control, they can tell you why with a specificity akin to an IRS audit. They can say where your bike is made, where and how is it shipped and stored, in some cases, down to the production schedule, storage depot and transportation route. Insodoing, they ground your expectations in detailed reality, never once shrugging their shoulders in a your-guess-is-as-good-as-mine fashion. Of course, that changes nothing until it changes something, and your assessment of the futility of that is right-on. Even still, you should fail in no-wise to see just how important their business is to them. Regardless of their motivation -- whether it be for the love of money or the love of you -- their demonstration of a desperate desire to keep going evidences an absence of and aversion to the prevalence of disinterest that now pervades most businesses that have succumbed to their impending doom. Unless you have already succumbed to same, you'll find their attitude a boost against same. That's nothing now, I'll admit; but it's something later if God be true. A passion for business, which is a passion for people, becomes a habit when it endures. Even though Gray Goat suffers like everyone else, I'm confident a difference will reveal itself in the end.
