This guy is operating a bike shop out of a storage facility - the address on this google listing is…read morewrong. He quoted me $100 to replace the spokes on my back wheel and $120 with the derailleur repair. When I went to pick it up he wanted $210 for a host of unauthorized repairs. At my normal shop, this repair on the spokes would have cost less than $50. When I refused the extra charges he took the chain and derailleur off and gave me mine back back in a plastic bag (did not put them back on). When I refused the additional charges he said that the quote I got was just an estimate, even though he never contacted me about the additional charges in advance. He condescended to me about how much work it took for him to replace the spokes. He also adjusted my breaks which I did not ask him to do and now my front break is very loose and I need at least 30 feet to stop now - very dangerous. My back wheel where he replaced the spokes was left with damage (filed down with scratches, pictured), and is now very misaligned. Very turbulent ride home - I will need to take it elsewhere for additional repair. He did a host of unauthorized repairs, like drilling into my rims to replace my regular spokes with heavy gauge spokes which he tried to charge me extra for and said I had 'no class' for complaining. I did not say anything about the Chinese per his response that is defamatory. I did curse him out - which he deserved. He did not communicate with me at all during the repair, never asked me if he adjust my breaks, drill into my rims or replace my chain. He also removed an old display which I did not ask him to do and tried to charge me for it. Con. Rudely made me wait 23 minutes outside the storage unit he operates out of to bring my bike down, even though he told me what time to pick it up and I was on time.

I've been working since 10th grade to help my mom because she is a single parent so for me the loss of about 5k including repairs leave me without transportation as I can not afford to repair it at this point. I've spent 3.7k on a bike, this isn't including the repairs i had to pay over the span of a year which amount to at least 1.4k+ after random bolts detaching and motor failing, and as soon as the warranty expired my bike had a random electrical issue where the bike wouldn't accelerate. The proprietor took it in almost right away, and started working on it on the spot. I asked him what I feel by anyone's account would be a simple and neutral question, "Do you have housing for the cable?" (as that was in need of replacement as well). I was flabbergasted by the proprietor's response. He told me, "Stop asking so many questions." I never knew one question fit into that category. He then went on in an obnoxious and sarcastic manner, said something to the effect of, "No, we don't have housing" and waved his hand around his store to suggest the more common meaning of the word, as habitation. He said "Just step back." I was a few feet past the entrance - I obliged him and said, "Since you asked so nicely." What called for this kind of rude treatment to a paying customer, is anybody's guess - he might have been having a bad day, but customers don't need to take the brunt of that. I thought about just walking out with my bike, but decided against it because of my crucial need of my favored mode of transportation. There was little exchange of words after that, and in spite of the above, he did an excellent repair (which included the cable housing) at quite a reasonable price. It's a shame that what could have been a very positive experience turned into quite a miserable one because of his manner of treatment. I'm adding this addendum, as it's the only way I can respond to the owner's comment: The response basically speaks for itself. Your workmanship and prices may be good, but the customer relations skills are sorely lacking. Wasn't looking for a fake smile, but neither was I for a verbal harangue (for a simple, inoffensive question). The continued insults only underscore my point (by the way, my cable broke because it was old). Superficialities? I don't put basic decency and respect in that category. I'm all for small businesses in our neighborhood - however, both customer relations and workmanship are equally integral parts of a business. I doubt I'm the only customer who's had this experience, they may have just not bothered to write about it.

When I rank the bell, I was pretty surprised when the owner let me borrow an allen wrench and simply asked me to leave it by the door when I was finished. No charge, no fuss, nothing! I went to get a new saddle for my bike, and was very impressed with the employee's knowledge and attention to detail. Best of all, he was honest and didn't try to upsell me at any point! I left without purchasing a new saddle because he told me my current seat still had life in it. That sort of knowledge and customer-centric approach means I will definitely be going back soon to get my bike cleaned, tuned up, and in top shape. I go for the Appointment. $21... ok. then I ask if I change the right side, will my brakes be perfect, and the repair says "yes", so now it's $42, except the right side STILL didn't work and he said, 'oh, you need a new balancer or some BS'. I can't recommend this store at all. the repair guy was so full of his own "expertise", and he let me riding around dangerously with NO brakes, when they're always doing nothing when I look in. He could have found 15 minutes for my safety, in 4 days, but he didn't and I didn't need a new brake cable on the right, he suckered me into it for no reason. Didn't fix anything.

Cables were about to snap, the tires were incredibly worn down, and the seat post couldn't even stay locked. Other bike repairmen didn't understand my bike and some never heard of the brand. David, on the other hand, was so knowledgeable. He took his time to show me how to best fold/unfold the bike and even asked me to do it in front of him to make sure I wasn't doing anything to further damage the bike. David was able to revive my bike at a very reasonable price with a pro-tuneup and a few part replacements (with a one-day turnaround). He also asked me a few questions about my riding style and visual preferences and made adjustments to the bike according to that. My 20-year old bike now feels brand new and rides like a dream! I will be going to David from now on. You should, too! You won't be disappointed with his work and professionalism.
