I won't be returning to this location. After placing an online order and leaving 10 minutes after placing it, I stood in line for 45 minutes. Most of the people who came in after me got their orders before me. The staff was not apologetic in the slightest. I understand the stress during a rush hour, but this was just ridiculous. I ordered 4 bagels and 3 drinks, and 2 out of the 4 bagels were not made correctly. While I understand I had a larger order, there is no reason multiple groups of people should have gotten their food before mine... ESPECIALLY because I placed an online order before getting there. Annoyed is an understatement. Im not one to leave bad reviews because I understand things happen, but this was genuinely the worst experience Ive ever had. Do better!!!! Also.... I took my son for a coffee today. He ordered a bagel and coffee and I ordered a banana berry freeze. $27. First time the girl Meghan makes my drink it tasted like plain milk. I took it to counter and she said condescendingly that she made it following recipe " three strawberries and banana." I told her it has orange juice in it. She argues "it does not have orange juice in it". I argue back that that's what the menu says. She adamantly argues back that it does not. I walk over to the menu and she follows me. Sure enough, I know how to read the recipe and she doesn't. She remakes it. Then tastes like banana milk. White drink. Supposed to be a yellow as on menu board (orange juice and banana making this color). I let her know it still doesn't taste right. I instead asked for a coffee drink instead which was a cheaper option to exchange it. She said " sure you can get a different drink if you go to the register and pay for another one ( again super snotty and condescending) very rude little girl. I said all I want to do is exchange it. I'm not a happy customer. She said again with a snotty tone. "Yup. You can get it but you're going to pay for it. It's our policy". I gave up. Had nothing. So $27 later my kid had a bagel and a coffee and they got a tip from me. STARBUCKS MAKES CUSTOMERS HAPPY. They give you another drink if you are unhappy no questions asked. They are polite, apologize and get you another drink. NEVER GO HERE and waste any money again. Such rude little children work there. Don't waste your time here. Go to STARBUCKS. just spent what is for some an hours of wages purchasing a mango blood orange cream freeze twice because the first time it didn't taste right and the second time it doesn't taste right again. Same wait staff? They don't know the drink? Pretty sorry and a place I will never return. Who has $8 to throw away every time they give you a different version of the same drink. Only giving two stars because it took 2 minutes to get the drink we ordered but we also ordered 2 bagel sandwiches, one with a Asiago bagel, one with a everything bagel. It took 30 minutes to get one of the sandwiches, and 40 minutes to get the other sandwich. The people behind us were told that it was taking awhile to get the food out and that would have been great to know. The lady who was making the sandwiches kept getting distracted by her coworkers who were making drinks and stopping, even though they were very on task even while talking. When we got the sandwich I said how I was disappointed that nobody said anything to us as we ordered that it was a long wait, she proceeded to say how she's sorry I was disappointed, not anything about how she's sorry for the long wait. Most painful experience of my life inside of a coffeehouse. An order that ideally should've taken 2 maybe 5 minutes maximum lasted for 26minutes!! My dogs in the car, the ladies kept insisting I add additional additives to my drinks that honestly could mess with my health. Refusing to honor the coupon LIKE EVERY OTHER BIGGBY HAS been throughout my entire trip... TONIGHT was not the night. I'm not only extremely disappointed but, now questioning if I'll use another Biggby for the entirety of my drive home. Which is to bad, seeing as how at the prior Biggby's I've bought cups. While the drinks and service are always great, the building has been dirty and grimy every time we go there recently. We understand this can happen from time to time, but this has been consistently dirty for six months. there was about 5 people working behind the counter. they're out of most of the bagel ingredients so they basically should just be making drinks. it took almost 15 minutes to order and i sat and waited for 2 iced coffees for over 30+ minutes. The pumpkin spice latte was amazing!! I tried Starbuck's version and I am not a fan. I had a hot pumpkin spice latte and a pumpkin muffin. The muffin was $2.49 (a little pricey for my taste), but they do have muffins for $1.99 on Mondays. This location also does $1 off student discount which I like a lot. My friend is vegan and they didn't use a separate machine for frozen drinks since they have a pre-made mix so that sucks that she can only get iced drinks. I recommend them offering more vegan-friendly options. read more

I have very mixed feelings about this Biggby location. About 3 years ago, this was my favorite place to go for coffee. The baristas were very friendly and even knew my order. They all appeared to love their job and getting to know their customers which was refreshing. Over the last year or so however, I cannot say that this still holds true. Most of the time (not every time though), the baristas look miserable- not even a forced smile or a "How are you today?" Even when I say thank you when they hand me my drink, I rarely get a "You're welcome" or "Have a nice day." It is really sad to see this location's customer service go downhill. The coffee is dece, but I'm still not a huge fan. The cashier tries so hard to feign cheerfulness a that it's painful. Then you go to the end of the bar to get your drink, and the barista interrogates you about your plans for the day, pretending to be interested in your life. It's obvious that the store has trained them to take these measures as part of some effort to cultivate a "neighborhood feel". Sorry, Bigby, but I'm not buying it. If the staff were genuinely energetic and interested in my life, I'd be okay with it, but it's waaay too fake. Beyond the service, the drinks are incredibly overpriced (worse than Sbucks). They've also pushed some decent area coffee shops out of business. Booo! My biggest beef was when the store changed their "rewards" program over from paper cards that are hole-punched to hard plastic cards that are swiped (like a credit card). I had racked up a freebie, yet they refused to honor it when I handed it in because I hadn't "cashed in" my points for a plastic card within their transition period (they apparently had advertised the switch for a couple weeks, but it had been a while since I had been in there, so I didn't see the signs). Mind you, the card did not have a printed expiration date. Even after contacting corporate customer service about the issue they didn't make it up to me. Your loss, Bigby. My girlfriend is from Allendale. Her parents live in a rural area of the town, and they refuse to upgrade their homes to anything more than dial-up internet. So when we come to visit from Chicago and need to get some work done, we head to Biggby. Between the relaxed atmosphere and the half a dozen, self-serve coffee choices, there's really no reason for us to scope out any other wifi-ready business. Well done! read more

A relaxing, garden window type of coffee shop...even it is part of a retail coffee chain. The alcove with fireplace and floor to ceiling windows make a cozy atmosphere to sit and work on ones laptop or just catchup with an old friend. The employees are friendly, pleasant in their suggestions for Biggby virgins, and almost never forget to thank you when you depart. Personally, I do not like coffee (except coffee ice-cream, mmm) so I can not comment on the quality of their bean, however I do insatiably crave their mango crush. They juice the mango crush right on the spot in a blender, no bulky slurpee machine in the background for this kid! Located off an access road to Grand Valley State University, most of the customers are college students, but they do get a mixed crowd being such a small college town with limited coffee shop options. read more

I like this place, and it's too bad they aren't a drive thru. I like to get a coffee for the long drive to work when I don't have time to brew at home-- so it's not convenient for me to go here in a hurry. I meet people here to visit occasionally and find the inside relaxed, and the staff very friendly to talk to. The specialty drinks seem a bit expensive. Also, the rewards cards are a little frustrating as I can never find mine and end up starting a new one. I'm not sure I have ever been able to get enough points to earn anything free. read more

I relied on this place a lot when I didn't have a car and needed a warm, caffeinated beverage. The bus drops off right behind the strip it's part of, and even in the winter I'd chance it because I just couldn't get enough of their cinnamon spice tea, hot with soy milk - a nice autumn-flavored drink. Some of the girls I've been helped by we're great, ready to get my drink pronto and made sure my drink was made with soy and not dairy milk. However, these workers are fewer. I imagine a part-time job in an off-campus coffee shop has a high turnover rate, but sometimes I have really regretted going here. Not only did the price increases outweigh the quality of the drink, but some of the baristas came across very detached, careless, annoyed, or like they'd rather be doing anything else by the way that they barely made eye contact with me or didn't smile. Customer service goes a LONG way - I know that as a server! - and when Biggby of Allendale's customer service quality worsened, my appearances here have become few and far between, if at all. Better coffee than Starbucks, in my opinion, but I need to feel welcome when I'm paying money for services. read more
