Good solid supermarket. They always seem to have what's on our shopping list. Never any problems in the selection department. Solid bakery, deli counter, excellent produce, lots of made to order take-out stuff like sandwiches and pizza. Always have bargains to be found, whether its mark downs or bogos. Up front staff is pretty good. Good price on frozen shrimp by the bag, even better when its 2 bags for the price of one. Got a really nice price on a whole chicken, marked down a few bucks with an impending sell-by date. Its beer-can chicken tonight, baby ! Gold Coins, silver coins, spin the wheel games, all kinds of amusements and money savers.

I guess there was an early morning run on watermelon today.

I love deals and when there is the buy one get one, or even two sale, you will see me shop.

Typical and clean Whole Foods market that has many organic items. I came in here to do an Amazon…read morereturn which has been very convenient especially since you don't need to package the returns. Having an Amazon account pays off with additional discounts on sale items. They have the usual hot bar, foodstuffs, bakery, meat and seafood, produce and pantry items. Depending on when you come sometimes they run out of what you're looking for like specific breads, yogurt, etc. On specific days they also have additional discounts like buy one get one 50% off on sushi and they discount things coming close to expiration like cookies and salad kits. They also still give out free paper bags, even at self checkout.

Not my usual place to do my Supermarket shopping, but Whole Foods Market does carry some unique…read moreitems that I do incorporate into my diet. Like, for example, they have an extensive selection of kimchi offerings. I also appreciate finding brands like Primal in stock. But, as other Yelpers have already stated, the prices are considerably more expensive than items found in your "normal grocery store". One reason might be the small ARMY of staff they have working here. I arrived just after they opened at 8am this morning, EVERY aisle had at least two or three employees stocking shelves. Yeah, the store is nice & clean, but I imagine the higher prices on stock reflect that level of staffing. The parking lot can be a mini adventure to navigate, but I try to get here early to avoid too much hassle. And since Whole Foods in Avon is a 20 mile round trip for me, I only come here to shop occasionally.

Hello I have a discrimination complaint the stop and shop on Simsbury CT has stop take back bottles…read morethat they have charged a deposit on. They are telling elderly people they to setup an account on a 3rd party website and scan the bags and deposit the bottles in a box and wait for the funds to be credited then transfer them back to their back account. A good amount of the elderly to not have smart cell phones some don't even have cell phones. Also this is discrimination against people that cannot afford cell phones. PS they just told my elderly neighbor that has me once a month take her her bottles to Farmington because Simsbury won't take they will no longer take their OWN deposit slips from the store that currently redeem bottles. By Connecticut State law, the retailer shall not refuse to accept any empty beverage containers of the kind, size and brand sold by the dealer, or refuse to pay to such person the refund value of a beverage container. Per CT State law, dealers or person who engages in the sale of the beverage are required to take back the brands that they carry. If a brewery or specialty vendor/retailer sells a particular brand, kind and size of soda, beer, water, etc., they must redeem those containers.

Fun fact: Stop and Shop (in Rhode Island) was my first job as a teenager; it's come a long way…read moresince then. They now offer employee discount and a higher starting wage. This particular S&S is really new and high-tech looking. They have better self scan systems and handheld self scanners. I recommend using the self scanners to save on time; just make sure you have a stop and shop card. The self scan kioks were a little finicky but once you're used to it, it runs smoothly; they have security in place and alerts the employees of any issues. The employees at the self checkouts were very helpful. They still have the S&S card, you can easily sign up at the service desk or online, to get sale items. If you don't have a card, just ask the employee to scan one for you. The service provided by the other employees there on our recent trip was good; deli and seafood counters specifically. The aisles were organized and fully stocked; the prices were average to above average (it's no Aldi). My kids were very entertained by the robot roaming around! (And so were we) We surely didn't have that back in the early 2000's; we've come a long way with technology. Parking was plentiful and when we went (Friday evening) it was quiet. This has become my new favorite Stop and Shop!

It's clean, spacious, has a robotic inventory machine, seems to be organized well, and staff seemed to enjoy their jobs. There is a small flower and plant section, bakery, deli, along with the usual pantry items. Perhaps it's because we went first thing on a weekend but I liked it! And I would rather purchase meat and seafood here than at a Stop and Shop. Sign up for the loyalty card and get those digital coupons. There are also the usual self checkout lanes, with the regular staffed lines. It's also located in a convenient complex with quite a few retail shops and a Panera. Most likely as the throngs of shoppers descend, the experience will degrade accordingly.

They also own Price Rite, which was a very affordable grocery store I used to go to in Rhode Island. This place reminded me of Publix in Florida. There were plenty of cash registers open and I love the self checkouts. The store was large and clean. The bakery section had baked fresh items. I loved the prepared foods section; the smell made me salivate. Pro tip: don't go there hungry. They had rotisserie chicken, prepared sides, sushi, and fresh produce. If you want to preorder a cake, download their app and schedule a pickup. I think the prices were comparable to other standard grocery stores nearby. Overall, a good market to get all your grocery shopping needs.

So far, I've had prime NY Strips, ribeyes, picanha (top sirloin cap) and Porterhouse steaks here and all were absolutely divine. They even may have a few cuts that don't make it on the shelf but you can ask for them and they might make your day even better. This store has quite a bit more than an impressive array of butcher cuts. You'll find all sorts of meat and seafood swimming in a number of different marinades. They have deli meats, and you'll probably prefer them here to anywhere else in Avon (and really anywhere in Hartford and its surrounding cities). Are you looking for some fancy tri-colored pasta? They got that. Natalie's Juice? It's here. Elk and venison? Maybe some other exotic cuts? They got quite a few in here. They even have a decent beer selection. And I haven't even started talking about all of their prepared food which is far better than what you'll find in most high end grocery stores. In any event, along with the Fresh Market chain's Avon location, you can pretty much source all of your non-basic wants and needs at these two shops.

So the counter person took them back up to the register to check the prices, they were in the $23 & $24 range for 14 ounces. That's double the price I pay for ground venison and ground elk at the Litchfield Locker, the prices there are $11.99/lb (venison) & 10.99/lb (elk) respectively. So, needless to say, I just wasn't interested in being fleeced, no thanks. I won't be returning.
