FANTASTIC! Big Thompson brewing is just fantastic. The staff is so friendly and kind. Such a calm environment and clean. Honestly, the looks from the outside look underwhelming, however it's one of the best breweries in the Loveland area!! The beer is very yummy and a wide variety to chose from. Their food menu is exactly what you are craving with a beer. There's tons of board games. Seriously, stop thinking and just go!! P.S the juicy IPA is amazing. The black lager is delicious. What a hidden gem this place is! It is hidden from the street, but their are signs to guide you to get there. I think this brewery is very underrated. It is quaint and cozy. I ordered a taster tray. The oatmeal stout and golden pineapple sour were amazing. I am a harsh critic when it comes to sours and the pineapple was one of my favorites of all sours. I hope they continue to brew great sours like it. I wish they canned it! They have a super cool deal where you buy one of their huge mugs for $25 and then get free beer on Wednesdays when you bring it in. I will definitely be back. read more

Earlier in the spring Steve and I hit as many new breweries that we could get to in Fort Collins and I believe that mission was successful balancing that between seeing family and friends. We also were planning to go to a few new ones in Denver as well during this visit back. But we also hit some new breweries (to us at least) in some towns between these two cities as well. Loveland was one town that was easy to reach on our way back to Denver and so we swung into this brewery to try out. We usually get select different beers from one another so we can each get a taste of something different but here we got the same beer. The beer we got was the Apricot and Orange Wheat. The beer was very easy going as wheat beers usually are... but wheat beers can also have such an infectious quality that you can gulp them down effortlessly too but not in this case. We were not in a hurry and had to kill time anyway so just kicking back was just the right thing to do. The taproom is set up very nice and is a pleasant place to hang out in. The staff are very friendly and the service is good. I have no complaints at all about this place. read more

We love this place! They are dog friendly and even have dog biscuits for purchase available. They always have different events going on and are super friendly. Great variety of beers too. Their flagship beers are well-balanced and varied, which include hoppy IPAs, malty dark ales, and everything in between, some of which are even on nitro. The pros of this brewery are its staff and its decor. We had an incredibly friendly staff member greet us at the counter on Sunday and give us tips on what to order/purchase. The beer was alright, tried the apricot wheat and it could've used more apricots since I didn't get much of that flavor. Walked in tonight sat at the bar patiently for 10 minutes without even being greeted or acknowledged. Granted the barkeep was busy with a line, but how hard is it to look up acknowledge your guest and let them know it will be a moment. Better idea, how about help the line then help the bar- alternate??? I asked for a beer while the barkeep was near me and still no acknowledgement. Ended up walking out with zero drinks and zero service Used to really like this place. If the kid can't poor beer god help him. We'll go to verboten instead! read more

A nice addition to the brewery scene. Big Thompson has made a comfortable space for craft beer drinkers, football watchers and food truck lovers too. My friends and I visited on the weekend and we enjoyed the warm sunny weather, open brewery doors, delicious beers (my favs are the Dinky Beet Beer and the Bitter) and we also enjoyed food from the BBQ Grill (food truck - they have lots of them come over check their schedule). We stayed there all afternoon! The place is a little hard to find.....but once we were there - we had a great time. They have a huge area to brew so I'm expecting many more great beers to come. Thanks for opening up in Loveland, CO!! We'll be back! The sampler tray is a great start too because they have lots on tap. read more

Tried all their current beers on tap with a flight. I really want to like these beers, but most were forgettable and almost watered down tasting. Nothing too complex flavor wise here. The season cherry blossom ale and prohibition pilsner were both good. Growler prices are good and staff is nice. Unfortunately though, nothing too memorable to make a return visit. read more

Not a huge list of beers, but we were both very happy with our selections. We got caught up playing one of their board games, so we stayed for another round. We got the Loveland Brewery Tour Passport. I think the woman was making up the rules for getting stamps and the buy one-get one free pint, but this was my first stop on the tour so I am no expert. For the two of us (each with our own passport), we got one free beer out of four and she didn't stamp either of the free pint pages. Hey, for a free passport, I will take one free beer. We took advantage of 1/2 off growler fills on those $12 and under on Wednesday nights. Dog friendly. Outdoor seating out back with view of the trains going by. read more
