Wow! We've been visiting Big Thicket since we moved back here in 2023! The business changed hands last year and the place never missed a beat! The menu keeps growing and they're trying new things, which is fantastic here in the backwater. The biggest compliment I can pay them is that their attention to the details pays off: their barbecue is some of the best in Southeast Louisiana. Their sides are generous, so when you go, go with an appetite or you'll be bringing home leftovers. Having BBQ joint like this in town is a plus! Judging by the crowded parking lot at lunch time, they're doing something right!

Brisket so good and juicy. Sausage link was just ok. Tater tot casserole and collard greens was delicious.

I like beef cuts and I cannot lie. I came here with my fiancé on a Saturday at 2 pm and there were only a handful of people there so no line BUT most of the sides and specials were sold out sadly so I suggest come early to beat the crowd. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. There are both indoor and a few outdoor tables. We shared 1 lb of brisket, sausage link, and their tater tot casserole and collard greens. The sausage link was ok but the brisket was juicy, fatty, and just melted in your mouth. It was SO good. The sides were delicious as well. Their bbq sauce is to die for. I wish I could've tried the Mac and cheese and creamy corn but it was sold out. I will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

Brad & Jessica send you to to Flavor-town in Louisiana with their visionary TX Big City BBQ style - a rare find in this state, and heartily serve up delicious and perfectly flavored cuisine that will satisfy any addiction to smoked meat. Well done & now housed with 2 giant smokers in the back at a recently acquired, feel-at-home location that is tastefully decorated with conversation starters & due credit to the One who provides all these gifts. I'm glad I celebrated my birthday here rather than anywhere else in Louisiana & no matter the special occasion or ordinary day, you should come support this awesome husband and wife team as they luckily bring the Louisiana locals a taste of something so big, you'll never forget it! ps. The desserts are not to be missed!

I had the 2 taco plate with one side for $10. The brisket was great & the pork was good also. The bbq sauce was tasty & home made. Purple Mardi Gras coleslaw was on the sweet side but fresh! Canned cokes are $1.25 not bad. Cute ole house/ we enjoyed it. The service was good.

To go boudin brisket- love the fresh pickled cuke and onion

Had two breakfast burritos One is good the other was not…read more But it's Sonic so take that for what it's worth.

I came through sonic drive thru in Deridder, LA Our total…read morewas $30.71 We gave the hop a $100 bill She came back to our vehicle stating they didn't have change to break it. Come again, so I asked her what would they do if I didn't have any other form of payment, do you take our food back and she said yes. How is this even a thing It's not our responsibility as customers to make sure we have small bills and you don't have change in the store. I called the store spoke to the manager on duty Stacey to get more clarity. She stated they had switched shifts, I asked well could I have waited 5 more minutes and you could have broken the $100 bills? She said no because they still wouldn't have had it! I don't understand I looked for signs stating no large bills but didn't find one. Other fast food places have a sign no bills bigger than a $20, $50 or $100. The right thing to have been is to tell us they were switching shifts, not just simply we can't break it and take our food back. How unprofessional!!! Luckily my husband and I were able to make up the $30 for the order so we could enjoy our sonic but now it's like we don't even want to come back Get it together, get change in place or simply train your staff to let customers know shifts are changing and they wouldn't be able to break change at that time.
