One of their plumbers came out to perform a test which involved filling all the pipes under the house. In doing this, my toilet overflowed and my bathroom was completely flooded- to the point where there was water in the walls and the drywall had to be removed to dry inside. The plumber didn't say a word, just emailed my husband that the test passed. We couldn't get in touch with anyone for days it stunk so bad. They are repairing it but it's been over a month and the repairs still aren't done... there have been nails sticking out of my bathroom floor all month I have a 2 year old and 5 year old. Kid showed up Monday morning looking like he just rolled out of bed. Stayed about 15 minutes, took some pictures, said he would have to get some parts and that he would be back and left. After a few hours of the kid not showing back up, I called the office and the office lady said that today's appointment was just a estimate and that the kid should've emailed an estimate which he didn't. Kid called back later on in the afternoon and said he got caught up on another job and that he would be here by the end of the day or first thing in the morning. The next day arrived. No plumber. Called the office and the office lady, who was extremely rude, said the kid called in and "said" that he had COVID and that we would have to reschedule. I have used this company twice now and both times I have been impressed with not just the service and honesty but the prices are way below other "big plumbing" companies. Yes sir, if you call anyone besides Big State, you will be missing out on quality work from plumbers who are there to help and not just "drain" your wallet. This time was not an emergency but the first time it was urgent and they did not charge me extra for the instant service call. It was more than reasonably priced and way below what I had been quoted by other "big plumbing" companies. Big State rep fixed the leak and gave me some good advice regarding what to expect down the road that they spotted that would fall on the HOA responsibility. Speaking of "big plumbing" companies previous to finding Big State, I had to have a pair of valves that were easier to get to then the ones that Big State took care of for me last week. The "big plumbing" company charged me over $450 for the same type of valves that Big State replaced for about $150 but Big State had to crawl under the sink to replace them. As you know, most of the time when you have to call a plumber, its an emergency and you are at their mercy and they know it. The gentleman that showed up was thorough and quick! He went right at the clog in my sink and had it cleared in minutes. He then gave me a much needed lesson in what to put down a garbage disposal and what not to. He arrived right in the middle of the window of time given to me and I was called 30 minutes before his arrival. The clog appeared on Sunday afternoon and was gone by Monday afternoon! Fast service! There were at least two technicians in my home. While they were, my son's $1,500 class ring came up missing. We searched high and low, no ring. When I called the company, the person I talked to did not care, nor offer any kind of compensation or investigation. He was told that only one person was in my home and that that person did not take my son's ring. However, I know for a fact that more than one person was in my home. In conclusion, be careful with what you have laying around when you allow companies like this to come into your home, make sure you are able to be present and know who is in your home. Waited 2 weeks for a plumber to get to the house. Told us 8am to 8pm. He called me at 5:30 asking if he still needs to come (umm...yes, been waiting all day and 2 weeks). He got there, checked it out and said it needed full repipe. Never heard from him again. I was expecting a bid or something. A technician named Jacob came out and was completely rude, sarcastic about our problem. Questioned me weather I was renting or buying, and making comment like I couldn't pay for the work. Told me he didn't want to be there since it was his day off, and that the guy who should have been on-call came in at 3:30 in the morning so he had to fill that spot. He laughed when I told him Lucyx did our sewer line and asked why didn't I just call them. Lastly, I told him they are closed today, and I have kids I cannot wait till Monday. I chose big state to come and replace ALL the pipes in my house. They were not the cheapest but not the most expensive. It took 4 whole days. The guys were very friendly and respectful. They were at my house even when we weren't there and were sure to lock up if we weren't there and they had to leave. Since then I have had two issues with my plumbing unrelated to my inside pipes (sewer and my main). One was on a Friday night at 8pm on a holiday weekend. Guess what? Someone was out by 9pm. ( that's because it takes an hr to get to my house from their office) the issue was fixed that night. These guys are great and recommend them to everyone! read more

Even though a sudden cold snap caused a rash of broken pipes, The plumber arrived the next day (Saturday) to repair a leaking main service line, but had to stop prior tp completing the job due to darkness. Because of the big increase in broken/frozen pipes and a sick plumber, the repair was not completed until the following Thursday. Fortunately we still had water to the house, just a wet and soggy front yard, unlike many other people with broken pipes and the water shut off. Through all this process the plumber and his helpers were doing their best and kept me informed regarding the nature of the leak and how they proposed to repair it and that the line would be stronger than before and less susceptible to future problems. I will use them again and recommend them to other friends and neighbors. read more

Outstanding Service. Had a pipe burst in the attic and needed after hours service. Found them on Angie's List. I called in the afternoon, and was given a 2-hour window for a plumber to arrive that evening. During the call they did disclose the extra service charge for emergency service, and offered next day if I wanted to wait. They arrived on time at 7:00 PM, also sent me a text before arriving with photo and estimated arrival and cell number. After looking at leaking pipe they gave me several options to repair. Fully explained what they would do and time it would take, also gave prices for each option. Repair took two hours, as estimated. Because of debris in the old galvanized pipe, after repair was made most of my faucets had reduced flow and partial or complete blockage. It took another hour+ to clear all the facets, one in particular that took 30 minutes. They still only charged what they quoted. Before they left, they thoroughly cleaned all the areas that they'd worked in. One last note, because the hard freeze and many busted pipes across the area every plumber with Big State was already dispatched and no other company could even give me a time or day they could come out and make the repairs. The owner/co owner of Big State, Morgan Donaho was the plumber who came out after hours with an apprentice and made the repairs at my house. When the job at my house turned from normal into quite a challenge, BSP accepted it and conquered the issues. Jacob Sutton, my plumber, had solutions when multiple unexpected challenges came up. He and the crew worked diligently to find solutions and untimely fix the problem. They brought in heavy equipment, used lots of man hours and resources without any extra charge except for a small piece of sidewalk that needed to be removed and then cemented again. They added new hardware to my house in a new pipe and side spiket to my house (and a copper industrial grade on at that). These are my plumbers for life. The only negative may be a bit of a lack of communications when it came to scheduling my sidewalk restore after the job was done. Took over a week for someone to come out and put new concrete in place. Then they never returned to follow up on it. But over all, very very happy with these folks. read more

PLEASE DO NOT USE BIG STATE! We Used Big State Plumbing to do an entire replumb on our house that was to be remodeled. This was a contract job. We used them because we thought a big company with good reviews was the best bet. Boy, were we wrong! When the bid is as high as they charged us, you would think that would correlate to good work, that was not the case here. They rushed through our entire job and had to practically be forced to clean up after themselves when finished. Although that was the least of the problems. The contractor for our remodel alerted us to the horrendous work they did, so we have now had two other plumping companies come out to give us bids to fix it and the job is so bad that they would have to completely redo the job to be able to warantee the work. We have Contacted Big State MULTIPLE times to come and fix the work they did and they cant even be bothered to call back. We will be pursuing legal action and also be going after their license. We all work too hard for our money to be screwed over by a company like this. There is so many good, honest companies out there. Take my advice, it is not Big State!! We needed a after hours plumber because we decided install new sinks and faucets in our master bathroom on Saturday night. The cut off broke and we had water pouring out everywhere. Finally got the water turned off out at the street and water mopped up but we didn't want to be without water for days so we called. Big State Plumbing (BSP) was contracted by our company to connect our sewer lines to the city lines. They emailed us a five to seven-day completion date for the job. They started in August of last year and it is January and the job still has not been completed. They left a dangerous deep ditch, they used no caution tape or barriers, anyone can easily fall in and get seriously injured. BSP emailed us stating once our deposit was made we would have priority scheduling. If this is priority I would hate to see normal. It's been over 4 months since BSP took on this job. BSP changed their project supervisor in the middle of the job, BSP failed to properly communicate with us. They neglected to return emails or phone calls in a timely manner. We made many attempts to contact them before getting a response. The plumbing was disconnected leaving the tenants of the building without bathrooms; we had to rent a portable toilet for the tenants. We were not told this would be an issue so they used the toilets and they overflowed. read more
