In a routine conversation with someone named Michelle regarding service she was rude and hung up on me. I called back and she did not apologize for hanging up or for her unprofessional attitude towards me. I let her know that she should go fuck herself for her behavior and that I would never do business with them again. Then I received a message saying that I was banned from their business. Fair enough. No courtesy or professional response from a company I've spent more than $10k at in the past 4 years. She needs to be fired. read more

We shopped around to do due diligence, and not only were the prices better across the board at Big Star, but the sales guy we worked with (Chad) was WAY more knowledgeable. Turns out this is a family business, which makes sense why Chad knew the Jacuzzi system backwards and forwards. Probably been hearing about hot tubs since he was a kid. Also, he had just the right touch. He knew the products were quality, so he didn't pressure us or upsell. He let the products do the talking. He earned our trust and delivered on it 100%, including being responsive over text as I got the whole thing installed and set up. Service that really went above and beyond. The only thing I would add to the Big Star business model: a subscription plan to get the chemicals delivered automatically. It was kinda nuts. They cleaned everything up (foam insulation every where) and got the new tub dropped in shortly after and walked me through it. The sales representative showed us the Vikings tub we were blown away. I can't account for the quality of their service in the store as I reached out to them for service on an existing Jacuzzi hot tub. To add further insult to injury, Big Star Backyards was referred to me by Jacuzzi. To this end, I have been trying to get a hot tub repaired since early May. I first called Big Star directly and got a call back from their technician early one Sunday morning some 4 days later. He need additional details on the hot tub that I didn't have at that time. After that, I called their tech back numerous times with no answer or return call. So, I started calling the Big Star main number directly. Finally I get to talk to their repair technician, Chris, again. He schedules an appointment to come out and then on the day of the appointment, some 30 minutes after the scheduled time, I get a call from him that he can't make it because his truck was broken into. Ok, I get that. Totally understandable. So, we reschedule. He doesn't make that appointment either and instead I get referred to another repairman - Kyle the txhottubman - I'll write a review of him later as it's more of the same with that guy. To be clear, I understand that during the COVID19 pandemic not everything is going as smoothly as it should. But, basic professional courtesy warrants return calls and timely follow ups. None of which occurred with Chris and Big Star Backyards. That is deplorable service. One further note, this hot tub is used for the therapeutic needs of an elderly man, not myself. It's not a recreational hot tub. Hence, the delays caused by Big Star Backyards and their referral have further aggravated a problematic situation where timely professional service is highly warranted and needed. read more

When we went into Jacuzzi Hot Tubs of Austin, Chad was extremely helpful in showing us the various choices of hot tubs. He explained the differences between the various choices and the options. We purchased the 495 model and are thrilled with it. We called several times with questions and Mighty, Chad and Cory have offered a great amount of help. They have been extremely patient and knowledgeable. My hot tub cover had several cuts in it which I reported on 8/21/21 (from delivery) and I am still waiting for the replacement to date, 11/22/2021. I email them to get told it should arrive in 2 1/2 weeks and no update or communication. The customer service after the purchase is poor. Great crew and deal with Jim, Chad, and Chris! I took a friend to look at swim spa sales around north Austin. Jim ended up selling my buddy and I swim spas. Other dealers couldn't beat the numbers and service. I purchased CalSpa FM-1681. Several crane companies gave estimates (too big require Right of Way permit to close street) and the smaller crane one was selected. Delivery and installation was smooth and fast. From truck trailer to filling water in an hour. Delivery from factory was about 1 month wait. Chris wired it up internally for stealth look. Chad and Chris set up hydraulic levers for cover lid. Quick review of basic spa operation and maintenance. Few weeks later when the deck is finished. I need to trade levers for cover baskets. Jim ordered it and Chris installed it with no additional cost. Jim threw in some additional spa cleaners as well. Chad and Chris are professional and friendly. Jim provided great customer service. He always responded to calls and texts, even after store hours. They're all focused on a great customer experience. Definitely recommend for anyone considering a hot tub or swim spa. read more

Took the leap and purchased a Jacuzzi from Jim at Big Star Backyards in Austin. I went to another dealer and was disappointed with their policy "we only deliver 'em we don't set 'em up". So I found Jim. Not only did they sell me an affordable floor model they included a upgrade cover, steps (all weather durable), easy cover lift and a safety handlebar.
