I love the cabin aesthetic of the cafe. There are chairs and a table outside on the porch. Inside there are tons of seats. It's June and they have a Christmas tree (favorite holiday!). As a book girl I love that they have blind date with a book and a bookshelf with books. I also enjoyed the music selection. The staff were friendly. I got a Honey Nut Cheerios latte. Delicious! It's sweet so if you don't like sweet then it will not be for you. I also got a bacon, egg, and cheese. Which there was a little more food in the sandwich but it was still filling. Came to Big Red's Cafe this morning and my experience was great. It was nice and quiet this Monday morning with only a few customers in the building. I walked up to the counter and got some pretty quick and polite service. I had the turkey bacon panini and it was delicious. The coffee was great as well. Coffee is great, staff are super nice, food was good but a bit small if you're wanting a meal. The vibe in the cafe is relaxed and has multiple seating options from couches to tables. Yum yum yum!!! Traveler here who was looking for breakfast options after leaving an airbnb in Mount Holly. Conveniently close/short drive to the highway too. The staff are so friendly, and I love the wooden theme all around, and best of all the food is yum-my!! We got the mini donuts (fried fresh to order - it was a restorative experience watching my batch get made!) and a bacon egg cheese on a wrap (tip - they can also do on a croissant or on a bagel) and it was perfection. We especially loved that the wrap was pressed in a panini machine - so that it was slightly crispy outside but most of all, retained the warmth longer as we ate ours slowly on the drive to our next destination. We drove an hour and a half to finally check this place off our "must-try" list. We wanted to grab some food, try the coffee flights, and then go hiking with family for Labor Day. Easy enough, right? Wrong. We got there at 12:50, only to be told the grill was too dirty to make food. They said they had to close the grill because it needed to be cleaned. Apparently, the grill had just seen some things it could never unsee, and staff decided it needed therapy instead of cooking. Now, I get it--cleaning is important. But if you close at 2:00, I don't expect the grill to go into early retirement at 12:50. 1:45? Sure. But 12:50? That's not "closing early," that's the grill calling it a half day. They told us there was "food all over the grill." I mean, isn't that literally the grill's job description? After waiting over a year to try this spot, it was a big letdown. read more

The service was good, & quick. Plus I'd you check in with Yelp you can get a free brownie! I opted for the white chocolate pumpkin mocha which was decent, but nothing over the top amazing. The frappes are delicious & the donuts specials change weekly, which are worth a weekly visit. The chicken salad sandwich croissant is amazing & flavorful & the turkey grinder is very satisfying. If you're looking for breakfast the bagels decent but the Belgian waffles are really tasty. You have the option of bar seating, tables, booth or a couch plus a couple of outdoor seating options. Quaint little cafe in Kings Mountain. We came here after hiking at crowders and it was the perfect lunch spot. They have a nice covered porch to sit outside when the weather is nice and then also some cozy seating inside as well. I ordered the BLT and potato salad. Nothing fancy but it really hit the spot and I really enjoyed it. I also ordered the Carmel macchiato. Also super delish!
