I was excited about a new coffee shop but I got to honest this is a super nice place in a super not so nice area. I understand the whole revival of the area but this is over the top. Anyway the coffee is of course good but staff are not pleasant at all. It seems like we are not at their level and couldn't care less about your presence. And this isn't a once off time, I've been here multiple times and various hours from mid day to 40 minutes before closing. Same service, same attitude. You get a friendly waitstaff at Waffle House!! It's really strange to have such an upscale business in the west side of Gastonia. Cross the street or walk down a few blocks and you'll quickly question your choices. Waterbean Coffee has a beautiful aesthetic, and the space itself is large, open, and inviting. It was my first visit, so I wasn't familiar with the menu or the different drink options available. Unfortunately, the customer service left a lot to be desired. The young employees working behind the counter seemed completely uninterested in interacting with customers. I don't expect anyone's undivided attention, but a simple greeting and a welcoming attitude go a long way. Instead, it felt like I had interrupted their TikTok sessions when I walked in. There was very little enthusiasm or engagement throughout the ordering process. To be fair, the coffee itself was good and met my expectations. The seating area near the restrooms in the back looks nice from a design standpoint, but it's not particularly comfortable if you're planning to stay awhile. Overall, the atmosphere and coffee were positives, but customer service is part of the experience. With so many coffee shops in the area that offer both quality drinks and friendly service, I'm not sure I'll be returning. read more

Such a beautiful building and space. I was honestly in awe when I walked in. I have been to Waterbean before, but this Gastonia location truly blew me away. There is so much seating, like so so much, and it was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday. This would be the perfect spot to work remotely or meet friends for coffee without feeling cramped or rushed. The drinks are affordable and so delicious, which is always a win. On top of that, every staff member we interacted with was incredibly kind and welcoming. Hands down one of my favorite Waterbean locations. I will definitely be back. read more

This coffee bar is an excellent addition to Gastonia. It's just what the city needs. It has lots of parking. Easy access to Franklin Blvd. Large room, spacious seating area and very clean! The staff are friendly and helpful. They have more than just coffee. A vast amount of coffees, lattes, mochas and tea etc. Pastries, muffins, brownies, cookies and sandwiches! Gender neutral restrooms that are clean! There's a tasting room for events and you can rent the space for showers, meetings or special events. It's a classy coffee bar. It has the look of being in Charlotte but with a soft subtle small town charm. It even has a beautiful piano as you enter. I'm so glad I stopped by. I will definitely visit again and also. This is a beautiful and cozy place to unwind after a long day or give you the energy to start your day! Come check them out for yourself! read more

When you walk in you would not think this would be in Gastonia. Service was so warm and welcoming. They have all different kinds of teas, matcha and coffees. They also have snacks like macarons and other desserts. Coffee was fantastic!! They also have a full bar. read more

Water bean is a cute modern day coffee shop with only a few locations in our region. They have a lot selection of coffees, hot and cold and also have a coffee tasting bar where you can actually sign up to taste different types of coffees very similar to a beer or wine tasting. It's pretty cool. Also the environment is very low-key and comfortable if you're looking for a place to just wind down or do a little work. I personally enjoy their adore espresso !! read more

The ambiance is so cool, chill, well lit. The cookies and treats were fresh and sorta and chewy. Our breakfast was delicious and fresh. The service was friendly. Horrible customer service!!!!! We went for the first time 11/1 around 11:30am. (Interracial couple)Ambience and decor are top tier, exquisite in every way!! But the customer service.. just bad, borderline rude!! The girl at the register looked angry and inconvenienced while taking our order. We have never been there before so of course we have questions, or don't know all they offer, the brand is new to us. She rushed us through, explained nothing, refused eye contact, I even complimented her, she ignored it,ridiculous! We sat down, they called our name and I waived, the food staff said, " I can't bring it to you, I have other plates to do". I had just watched her bring plates to other tables, like what?!?! The customer flow of how and where to pick up your items is not clear, or explained, everyone looked confused when their name was called. My food was missing the sauce on the side, my husband's coffee was wrong he was never offered the option for condensed milk for his Vietnamese coffee, because the girl in the front wont talk. We had a terrible experience. Again the decor is beautiful, but why not have the customer service match the decor? Otherwise what's the point?!?? The grand piano means nothing if the staff is not trained properly how to treat customers. read more

Coffee and tea are good. Service is crap and incredibly slow. This is the second time I've come here on a weekday, 9am, and waited almost 20 minutes for a HOT TEA with no one in front of me in line. Service was also not friendly at all. Music is always too loud. read more

I had been contemplating if I would leave a review. And now after seeing someone also leave a review about the horrible customer service they experienced on 11/1, I also feel compelled to share that I experienced less than ideal service. The young lady at the register was a bit curt but I mostly ignored it because I really just wanted some coffee. I asked for my order to go. The young lady initially brought out my order on a plate and I kindly stated that I requested it to-go. She came back with a tray and tossed it on the counter.
