I couldnt leave anything less than 1 star. The 'manager, Zeke, didn't seem very knowledgeable about patching a nail hole in a tire. He said per DOT, anything less than 6 inches betwen nail holes is not recommended to repair. His only option was for me to buy a new tire.. Great for upselling for Big O, but terrible for customers when a quick fix would have done the job. I have a feeling this is their standard business practice. Location: 20202 W 153rd St, Olathe, KS 66062 Horrible Experience - Dangerously Horrible! On 2/25/2022 we brought our 2015 Ford Escape Titanium in for 4 new Micheline Pilot tires. In my opinion, they are some of the best, if not THE best brand of tire available for your every day driver. Well, this car was going to be my daughter's car when she turned 16, and it had been the car she was learning to drive on. School started, and on one of the first days back to school, it was raining, so I was already worried. On this day, she had to take her sister and little brother to school. She told me that it was scary, because the car was hydroplaning and hard to control. I thought she was being dramatic. Then, fast forward to the weekend of September 9th. My wife and I used the car on 9/10/2022 to do a favor for my ex-wife, which required me to drive to T-Mobile Center in downtown Kansas City. It was raining lightly most of the day, and the roads were wet. There weren't puddles everywhere like when we get heavy rain, they were just wet. At 50 mph, the car was hydroplaning on the freeway! It felt like we were driving on slush! These are brand new tires! Not bald! We had to stay under 50 mph on the freeway, which everyone else passed us like we were standing still. I eventually said to my wife, "could these tires be mounted backwards? They are designed to move water away so that they have grip in wet conditions..." She googled it immediately, and sure enough, incorrectly mounted tires will not perform well in the rain and may hydroplane... I GAVE THIS CAR TO MY DAUGHTER!!! SHE DROVE HER SIBLINGS AROUND IN THE RAIN!!! As soon as I was able to get to a stopping point, I looked at the tires. They were NOT all mounted in the same direction... Both tires on the driver's side are mounted backwards! Now this shop is closed, no doubt due to serious complaints regarding safety concerns and other issues, and possible lawsuits. To add to the negligence, I checked my bill, and they were supposed to have done an alignment in order for me to have the tire warranty. There was no mention of the alignment, and it was clearly not done. One tire is wearing faster than the other 3, but that tire was mounted in the correct direction. I want to know what Big-O is going to do about this. What are you going to do Big-O? Because you aren't going to brush me and my family off with a case number and a canned response like you did to the others that left reviews. My children could have been seriously injured, or even worse! I should have gone to Costco, where I know they will do everything correctly! The same guys have worked at Costco for years and know what they are doing. At the very least, they know which direction to mount the tires! In the words of Monty Python, Run Away! Run Away! Went in for oil change and was told my front brake pads had 2mm of pad left and needed to be changed along with the rotors. They wanted over $300 for front and back. I passed on it. Something didn't 'sit' right. About 2K miles later, two weeks, I took it to the dealer as a warning light had come on. The dealer said the front break pads had about 8mm and did not need to be touched. Big 0 had told me the same thing 6 months ago, and I have that estimate, and I had delayed and then forgot to get the work done. So that is twice they wanted to charge me for working on the brakes that were in excellent shape. Caveat Emptor - buyer beware Big 0 stores may vary. I pity the ones who have to come here for emergencies. The customer service was great, the overall experience, not so much. I called day of to see if they could look at my tire for it had a small leak. The gentleman was very friendly over the phone and told me I could come by at 2p. I arrived a quarter till two and walked in to find out they couldn't service me because they were behind. Things happen so I was happy to come in the next morning. I arrived for my appointment early, and the first thing the (same) gentleman said to me, which was an immediate red flag, was "we will take a look but if we can't fix it you'll need to buy four new tires." What?! My tires are, at best a year old so this was confusing. So I waited while they took a look and Low and behold they can't fix my tire because of the placement of the nail, which was on the tread of the tire that hits the pavement. He was even kind enough to show me like the dumb idiot they think I am. So he draws up an estimated price for four new tires that would total out over $800. I went to another tire shop that is not a big name brand and they were able to repair my tire for $25. Moral here is always get a second opinion and never let someone twist your wallet, I mean arm, into something you feel is not right. What happened to good and honest business? I had a bad tire that needed to be replaced. Came in on Easter Sunday.. there was no cars in their garage. The front desk man was extremely rude to me in front of my kids, told me to leave my car for a cpl hrs. He explained he was wkg with a light crew. Might add there were 6 men in uniforms standing around on their cell phones texting, col were smoking ect, doing absolutely nothing. He walks out to my car cms back in says very aggressive and rude, "we have to replace both front tires because you have AWD. I can't be responsible for your computer going out, I won't do it!......" He tells me he won't service the car unless I buy 2 tires. My other front tire was 4mos old. Meanwhile as im waiting in the waiting room after purchasing 2 tires 3 more ppl come in, a person needs 2 tires, another wanted other services, this rude front desk man runs all business away claiming it will take hours before they can get to it. *still 5 employees just standing around in the garage After speaking to my mechanic, another tire retail store, and I also called Mercedes Benz they all agree that I didn't need to buy a 2nd tire. took my car in for a alignment in July of 2019. My car was pulling to the right. I purchased a three year alignment plan and went home feeling happy. During the next week of driving my passenger front tire wore down to the steel belt.....The tire was only 6 months old. I took it to the dealer because I knew BIG O screwed it up. They replaced the tire, aligned it perfectly. When I told them they laughed and showed me that the alignment was very far off and I should take them to small claims court. I will never go to these guys again. They only want to up sell you and they don't even perform the work properly. Stay away from these con men. read more

I have come here a couple times since this changed over from NTB and had bad experiences both times. Each time I dropped my truck off for an alignment check and to repair a leak in one of my tires. Dropped it off Saturday at 8am, and was told they could fit in that morning and would call when it was done. I never got a call Saturday, and finally Sunday they called to tell me my truck was done and they couldn't get ahold of me Saturday. I had no missed calls. The same lady who checked me in Saturday, gave me my keys. I asked her how the alignment was, and she said it wasn't checked or on the ticket. I asked her why not, she was the one who checked me in and wrote me up. She was very rude and told me I don't know it's not on the ticket. Both times I came here the staff has had very poor communication, and missed something I asked them to do. I would not come back. Big O is irresponsible and in my opinion unethical. I will not trust them with repair/service again. I have patronized Big O twice ... the first was for a routine oil change (December 2018), where they told me the cranking amps on my battery were very low and that it needed replaced. I went out and bought a battery and didn't have the time to install it right away ... well months have gone by and the original battery is still firing while the new one I bought sits in my garage. The second time my wife's car with tires less than a year old had a flat. They called to tell me it was irreparable and needed to be replaced - quoting me the price for a new tire. Thankfully they didn't have the same tires in stock so I took it to another tire store (competitor in the area). They checked the tire, fixed the tire and didn't charge me a dime for the repair. Big O is 2 for 2 in trying to sell replacement parts for something that did not need to be replaced. Not only would it be a significant cost to replace a battery and tire - but it is a huge cost to the earth in not fully utilizing the products. I will say it again ... I won't ever go to Big O Tires on 151st Street again for car repairs. I dropped my Toyota Sienna van off on Sunday morning for new front struts. The manager said the mechanic doesn't come in until Monday but they will call me with a price quote on Monday morning and work it first thing. They didn't call until 11am and then, they only called to tell me they had already done the work! The price was $1,120 for new struts!! More than twice the price of online estimates I found. If they would have called with a price estimate, I would have rejected it and gone elsewhere. I am livid. I paid $600 more than I should have had I gone elsewhere! read more

I was in a jam and needed to know why my car won't start. Unfortunately, B O T's computer system was completely down. They explain how they could test the battery, starter, and battery if only their computer system was up. So They referred me to an auto parts store for a new battery. I returned the next day and they were able to check the car. It turned out to be the battery. I found them to be friendly and professional . I would definitely return. read more

My wife had a flat and needed an oil change. They did the work but didn't bother to put the spare back in the wheel well. An unbelievable lack of care. As these guys get a monopoly it will get worse. About a year later went back in, was told the back end was way out of line, however, they can't get the bolt unloose, so will need to purchase a new part to replace the stuck bolt at a cost of $800...no thanks! TERRIBLE service, not once it was TWICE! Tried to schedule an oil change (nothing difficult, just an oil change for my car) and the first attempt didn't work because I booked using the online system and got an email notification, then I went to the store BUT couldn't get me in because the online system doesn't communicate to the store (SMH) therefore they didn't have an appointment for me, and she said the best way to book is calling or coming to the store. Then she said "I can book you for tomorrow" which was the next day.... Then I came back for my second attempt appointment and guess what? The compressor (and something else) didn't work and couldn't do my oil change either! And she said again: I can book you for tomorrow (!). I was thinking "third time is the charm?" but was very disappointed that didn't want them to give her another one! It's a shame because used to be my one stop shopping (oil change, tires, brakes etc) but it seems they have new staff who doesn't take care of their customers read more

Avoid the 151st street location like your life depends on it. Have used these guys for a few years, tires were cheap, had programs for alignment, tires. I was depending on them to do a full service/maintenance of my 3 cars. Every time I request the same things Tire rotation, balance check look over the car. So would you keep going to these guys after these things happen. Issue #1 - Heat only comes on every so often, just had oil changed two weeks before. Took it in since it just turned cold. Found coolant so low no heat was being produced. Asked why it wasn't checked at the last oil change was told they don't top off fluids. This must also mean they don't check them either, kind of why you take your car in to get serviced right. Next issue, just had car serviced, tires started vibrating with in the first week, took car back in where they rebalanced them. Left for 4 hour drive, with in the first hour the vibration was back. Had to take it to a place in Iowa so I wouldn't ruin tires or go nuts from the vibration. That balance stayed until the next time for service (5000 miles), told them about what happened, they apologized and completed the regular service requested. With in the first week vibration is back, took it back in where they told me it was throwing the stick on weights from inside the wheel. Told them to put old fashion regular clip weights on. Got the car and two days later vibration is back, took it back in of course. The front counter person said they would make sure the wheel was cleaned really well this time, Seemed I requested clip on weights so this wouldn't happen. Got the car no vibration and it lasted. Imagine that. 3 trips to get done what they should be doing every time. Last resort was this past Saturday 2/9/19. Have a tire that has slowly lost air for a long time. I just kept filling it up and would forget to mention it when I brought the car in for service (I know slacker). Finally took it in to get the tire fixed. The front counter lady after she heard flat tire she just started talking. I said hang on you need to know, she just kept talking. Was not interested in finding out it was a very slow leak that has been around for a long time. She was still talking so I finally had enough and told her to stop talking. I asked her if she cared about any history with the issue or the fact she would not stop talking when I had not given her the history. The manager came over and said what's going on, I told him that she would not let me speak and was not interested in hearing any history. The manager was of course new, or new to me at least, so he had no knowledge that she was the one on duty for the last 2 of the 3 trips with the tire balance issue, which confirmed she has a history of not listening or relaying information. When I told him that, "he said she was doing a fine job" WTF. I lost it at point. Said my bit and left. Took car to the Big O at 119th and Metcalf because the tire protection is with Big O. Not going back to any Big O ever after this. Had enough. Don't care what it cost me to switch garages. I would not let anyone you love drive a car serviced by them, their cheep tires are not worth the risk. They have not been able to keep staff, ever since the new owner took over and it wasn't great before. All the people that were trust worthy are gone because of bad benefits and changes in pay. They have created a environment that no one would want to trust. Hope this saves some frustration. read more

In case this is helpful for anyone in the area... Big O Tires off 69hwy and 151st has officially lost my business. I had issues when they were NTB getting tires rotated and balanced correctly. Then they switched to Big O and I gave them another shot last week. I pulled out of there and less than 24hrs later had a flat tire and a dead battery!! Given that the last time I took it there (when it was NTB) the exact same thing happened with the tire, I decided to go straight to Toyota. Sure enough there was a huge nail in the tire and they had to replace a battery terminal. I feel foolish for even giving them as many chances as I did. Lesson learned! read more

I arrived at 10am and was told my sons car would take maybe an hour to get new tires. There was not anyone ahead of us. I told them if it was going to take any longer to please tell me and I would have someone pick us up since i have my 3 year old with me. They assured me they would have me in and out quickly. It's now 12:45......the car has 2 wheels on it and everyone seems to have gone to lunch.....I will not be returning and I will not be recommending this establishment to anyone. read more

Stay away from this store! I have attempted to use them several times with poor service each time. 1st time was to get a tire for a Nissan GTR. The person on the phone told me they could not do it and had no options for my car. Called their store on 119th street. Not only did they order the tires, they were prompt and professional. In a world where anything can be ordered the store on 151st did not even make an effort. 2nd time was when I had a flat on a Porsche. Called them and same story. "Do not have the tire, cannot help." What happened when I called the 119th store? The same thing!! Coincidence...I think not! Fast forward to this past weekend. Took my Ram 2500 in to 151st store. Needed tires balanced and rotated. Upon entering the store at 0900 staff had their heads in their computers while customers stood without being greeted. While listening to the person in front of me, he was told "they do not have his tires." When he pressed them, the person made more of an effort and said he could get them from another store. Had he not pushed, I'm positive he would have left and spent his money elsewhere. Now it's my turn in line. They tell me "we can get the balancing done for you." I thank them, then they go to the truck, get the vin and confirm information with me. My wife picks me up and I'm on my way. 43 minutes later they call and say "we cannot help you because your truck is a 3/4, you need to go (guess where) to 119th St!" What a total joke, they have three ton jacks, 15k lbs lifts, etc. Not to mention that I had already left and could not return for 2 hours. When I returned for my keys, the excuses and lies came. I addressed my concerns with the manager that never apologized (hey the truck says "2500" on the side so this could have been avoided). So, today went to Discount Tire on 151st. Not only did they do the rotation and balance for free they were great. NEVER, EVER go to this store (Big O on 151st). Lies, a lack of customer service and managers and employees who do not even want to be there. read more
