Never let them fix your car at Big O except tire replacement. The McHenry Modesto is the worst one. They will fk your car. Last year, I had them serviced my brake/rotor and they broke one of the calipers and had you pay for it. They'll blame the owner they think they're stupid. read more

I was driving through Modesto when my trucks rear rim fell off. After many hours and two tow trucks I ended up here. Tony bent over backwards to fix my trucks rear rotors, and replaced the studs that had broken off. They installed my spare and got me back home to Fresno by closing time. I had to take my truck back 3 times because it overheated and was making noises. They apparently "rebuilt" my entire engine only for it to give out just this past week. Now I have to get another engine for my truck. Customer service was terrible and rude. They didn't even contact me for updates on the truck when they had it for almost 2 months. Not only that I had warranty under MaxCare which is a $0 deductible for all repairs and they still wanted to charge me $1700 worth of repairs. Thankfully carmax refunded me. Took my car in for new brakes, Tie rods and shaking. Ended up paying over $4,000.00. Took it home to find that it was leaking radiator fluid all of a sudden. They charged me another 200.00 for new hose. Drivers side front brake sounds like it's rubbing and the emergency brake no longer works. Can't afford to take it back as I'm afraid they'll charge me again for their bad service. I should have gone to McCoys. An expensive way to learn. read more

I was called by big o letting me know I was due for an oil change. I went down on a Saturday morning to drop it off. Customer service is non existent. "BE with you in a minute X 8" = 8 minutes. The guy had several side conversations with random people and coworkers coming in and out as we stood there, waiting "just one more minute" I have taken 5 of my vehicles there over 20 years. That will end today. A word to Big O leadership on customer service. The most important person in your waiting room is the customer. Think twice about when you say, "be with you In A minute".. I suffered a tire puncture, so they did a "free" repair. But less than a year later, after we moved away, the same tire suffered another nail. But the shop where I live couldn't repair it again because of the shoddy workmanship. And that doesn't include the damage they did to the sound reading foam in the tire. Now I'm replacing a $300 tire with more than 50% of its useful tread. "Free" is definitely worth all you pay for it. read more

While driving to Yosemite National Park, I had a blow out on Highway 99 in Modesto. AAA came & put on my spare. From there I drove to the Kia dealership to see if they could provide me with a new tire as stated in my lease. Unfortunately, they did not have the correct size tire. The service rep recommended I try Big O tires just down the street. Not only did they have the right tire, they changed it immediately, ahead of other cars that were already being serviced. The staff was concerned, friendly & very helpful. And the price of the tire was reasonable. I needed to change our suburban tires so I went here. The person at the counter was nice, gave me a price that I think was reasonable. I told him that I wanted all the sensor to be replaced and they did it. They also replaced the bulb in the tailgate with no charge. They told me that I could open a credit with their company. I will be charged the same amount and I can pay it for a year with no interest rate. So I did. All in all we didn't have to pay it all in one billing's and we are happy with their work. read more

I got a new set of tires here and then drove my car to park It in my parents garage. I noticed an issue with driving the vehicle and pulled over to look at the tires because the car felt shaky. I go look and my back left tire bolts are loose! 3/5 of them. called big O and was told to call a tow truck and send them the bill. I am now late for work because I'm waiting on a tow truck. do yourself a favor and double check your tires before you leave here! very frustrated. read more

I was able to drive here leave and come back but not drive after they worked on car broke three lugs and said $500 to fix I said no and left going 10mph because wheel was about to fall off car had to get tow to make it home. Costco has lower prices for same tires and free installation. Paradise tire McHenry $50 alignments. We need to come together as community and do something people lose loved ones over negligence or untrained so called mechanics that should never be allowed to touch a car. read more

It's unfortunate however I will not be doing business with Big O Tires Modesto Mchenry ever again. I had some equipment stolen from my vehicle, and some merchandise that was new Totaling about $2600. The store manager and assistant manager Terry and Tony stated they would take care of it and the owner Vik does not want to take ownership of their mistake. Now I have to take them to small claims court to and deal with this hassle. Thankfully I have a police report and video evidence of my belongings being stolen and the court and Judge should side with me on this. read more

Customer service here is terrible now that Tony's gone. I've been taking my vehicles here for 20 years (I have three) and was always treated great by Tony. Tires, suspensions, brakes, you name it; he did it at a fair price. I went in today to get a nail removed from one of the high end Cooper tires I bought there (after the manager said there was no wait) and was told it would take two hours. "Now there are five cars in front of you." Really? In 7 minutes? I asked if they would top off my radiator fluid; something Tony did without being asked and got told that I'd have to pay for a $230 radiator service if I wanted that. I was going to buy five 37" Cooper tires for my Jeep gladiator from them, but now I'm taking my business elsewhere. New management needs to learn how to treat their customers. If I could rate 0 stars I would , well first off they took 5 and a half hours to do a oil change on my car, I had a Groupon for but then there was another $10 I had to pay on top of the Groupon cost, which is such crap. The waiting area was disgusting looks like no one has attempted to clean since before the pandemic, they had trash and debris covering one of the doors which I thought would be a fire hazard but I guess not, then once i finally got my car done they had messed up and didn't put the plastic pice that covers the oil filter , so while driving home it scraping against the ground, do not go here anywhere else would be better than this place. read more

Three stars only because the customer service rep was great. Kevin was friendly and attentive BUT it was the actual Service men who worked on my Van that did not do their job right and that's what really matters. Service men get 1 Star. I went in to get my oil changed & when they did their routine fluid checks they did not put a few of my caps back on & they spilt some oil on my engine so now I smell burning oil after a drive, so annoying. Mind you I skipped the tire rotation & alignment since I got service for that recently else where, so they had the time to make sure to put my fluids caps back on. Was it because I am a female that they think I wouldn't notice? And try to use the "you brought it like that" card. I always take care of my van so I notice things like this. Unfortunately I didn't think to look under my hood right after their service because I trusted them. I had to go out of my way and buy new caps for my van's fluids when it could have been prevented. Never again. I will just stick to Valvoline's Oil changing service because I never had a problem like this with them. EVER. read more

Don't be in a hurry for anything. Oil change took almost 2 hours. Previous trip tires took three hours. Do not recommend taking a vehicle there for mechanical issues - they just throw parts at the problem- not good troubleshooters. read more

My mom and I went in for an oil change on each of our cars... on my car (dodge charger) they took me out to the shop, they stated I needed new tires I told them that is funny I had my tires changed a year ago plus the same company that put my tires on 2 weeks prier to this oil change just changed my brakes & rotated my tires they would of seen it and told me. they guy stated well I am telling you right now your tires are showing signs of dry rotting. I then explained just do the oil change like I ask & i will contact the tire shop that put them on they are warranty. I finally had a chance to take my car back today to the org shop that put my tires on they put it on the rake i showed them what Big O stated and showed them the invoice where big o put it on the paperwork. They said there was nothing wrong with my tires at all. are you kidding me.... grrrr Next my mom's car we left Big O after both our cars were completed I dropped my car off at my house which was right down the street by the time i got in her car it was smoking all over my mom was panicking thinking something was wrong with her car (she has a new car) we popped the hood they had spilled oil all over her manifold for 2 days her car smoked and the smell was horrible we had to keep the windows up because it was raining. These guys have it together when it comes to keeping the customer happy; from answering the phone right away, services updates, to simply opening the door for you with a smile. Tony is very knowledgable and ready to answer any question you might have along with Chris. They allow you to check your car out at anytime and keep you updated with exactly what's going on (bad or good). I was even able to take before and after pics which was a shock to me! Could use an update in the vending options and entertainment for those waiting. Definitely recommend coming here for oil change, alignment, rotation, tires, suspension needs, etc... as they will do what they can to work with your financial situation. Had a completely flat tire due to a nail, went to Costco first (stupidly) they told me they would not fix my tire or sell me a single tire & that I had to buy 4 new ones in order for them to do anything & that it would cost us almost $1000, my car is not AWD so I can replace just one. Went to Big O & they said I don't even need a new tire, just ran over a nail. Patched my flat & didn't charge me a dime! This is my new tire shop for life! Amazing people read more

And now the tire didn't last more than 50,000 and they were suppose to be good to 70,000 and yes she faithfully rotated the tires every 5,000 ... She told me that my son in law took the Durango down and said they would sell him new tires and at 900.00 and he told him them the tire didn't last. Had tire pressure light on, and a piece of undercarriage sticking down, dropped off car at 10:15 and was told if I don't hear from them by 1 to give them a call. Returned at 2:15 nobody had touched my car, told really busy with appointments and that they eould.have by end of business. Original guy tells me, "I said call, I didn't promise it would be done. It's New Years week" website says they close at 6, I got back at 5:32 they closed at 5:30. Still don't know if my car is fixed. Going back tomorrow to get my keys and go elsewhere. What A lifetime 'WAITING' nightmare. The waiting area is a cold dark sanctioned area of an older facility still freezing cold. And the vending machine is loaded with over-aged and expired snacks. So, buyer beware. And THATS just the waiting area. The 'wait' time itself actually begins with the staff throwing your ride up on the racks, and never touching it for the first hour. after the first hour passes, they remove your old tires and let you sit for another 2 hours. THEN! after the 4 th hour passes you get to watch the rest of whatever workers they have left, go home for the day. But that happens just after you have already watched at least 6 other vehicles who came in AFTER you. Get serviced first! And this is just for a free rotation. Never going back! Marks a liar and the staff sucks! Not how you treat Big - O Card holders! Piss off! You guys not only suck! You swallow! Much better and faster service on 7th St! Got somewhere to be? Don't go to Big O! Your clothes will go out of style before these jerks get off their asses to get anything done. And they'll always blame it on being shorthanded. Recently went in to get tires mounted on a one off set of custom 3 piece wheels. They were very careful to take great care of my wheels while installing new tires. A few other shops refused to do the install out of fear of damaging such high end wheels.I am very pleased with there service, price and level of customer service i received. The manager Tony goes above and beyond to insure each customer is fully satisfied and well taken care of. I will only use them as truly stand behind there work . Couldn't be more happy and will only go to them for my auto repairs and tire needs. read more
