I want to share an immaculate experience with Andy Martilla and his team in Concord. They delicately replaced 4 run flat low profile Pilot Supor Sport tires on my C7 Z06. From raising the vehicle to installing the tires, this is not an easy job. They took the time to carefully remove and reinstall each tire without damaging my performance aftermarket spun forged aluminum wheels. In addition, their labor rate was $1000 less than what was quoted by the stealership. They earned a new customer for basic service on the C7 and all service on my new Nissan Frontier. I took my van here for a simple oil change and ended up with a major problem. Shortly after leaving 25 miles , while driving on I-680 toward Fairfield, other drivers started honking and warning me that my van was leaking fluid and smoking. I pulled over and found oil all over the engine, under the van, and even on the back and sides. My company had to send another van to transfer my load, and I waited two hours for a tow truck. When I arrived back at the shop, the front desk staff greeted me with an attitude instead of offering help. The mechanic, Williams, first claimed the issue wasn't related to their work. Later, after I followed up, I was told it was caused by a defective filter. Another employee admitted they had forgotten to install the oil filter ring. Even after they "cleaned" the van, it was still dripping oil everywhere. I asked for a proper steam clean and reimbursement for the tow, but both were refused. Williams also stated they would not cover any dealer inspection or repair costs if further damage is found. Overall, the situation was handled very unprofessionally. The mistake caused me a major inconvenience, lost time, and potential damage to my vehicle, yet the shop refused to take full responsibility. Not recommended. read more

I'm big on choosing where I spend my hard earned money by way of who has great reviews. And avoiding businesses that have shit reviews. But this time I didn't get to do that and focused more on who had what I needed and who could get me back on the road the quickest. This Concord Avenue store, to my surprise, took care of business. It started with my phone inquiries. JERMIAH was polite, friendly, and efficient. So much so I didn't bother to check their reviews. When I got to the store I asked that they be careful with the center caps because they're old and my experience break easy when handled roughly. JERMIAH took the time to let the guys know. It's only been a couple of hundred miles on a set of Michelin T&H on my wife's 2003 Corolla, but so far the wife is happy. Happy wife, happy life. I was in and out in less than an hour. JERMIAH even informed me of a $70 mail-in rebate which was an added surprise! They also mentioned and suggested a couple of things to keep an eye on and may want to replace / repair in the future. But wasn't at all pushy and did not talk to me like I didn't know cars. Because I wrench and it was refreshing that they were informative and honest. Didn't over sell. Bottom line, they all did their jobs as far as my experience goes. And I'm grateful. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, like Josh and his team at this location wasted mine! I called ahead to ensure they had my tire size and brand and was told to come in at 3 pm (in the height of traffic). I arrived to rude service technicians and then when met with Josh from the phone he was totally clueless on everything we spoke about only a few hours earlier. After re-explaining my situation for 20 minutes due to his inability to comprehend clear instructions, his coworker had to step in only to tell me they in fact DID NOT have my tire in stock and would need to order it for another day and instead of $200 it now would be $800! I drove all the way there on a spare for no reason at all in traffic to deal with absolute idiots that call themselves tire professionals. I quickly went to American Tire on railroad and the same tire was available and $600. Never waste time or money at this Big O location they are horrendous! read more

I went in for a simple tire repair because I had a screw in my tire. They told me I needed a new tire, but wasn't given any options just told it would be almost $350. I agreed because I need a tire obviously. They then quoted me almost 3k for new shocks. I have a warranty so I took my car to a mechanic who said nothing at all is wrong with my shocks. Wow. They also claim they checked my tire pressure and adjusted all the tires to the right PSI, but as soon as I drove away my car alerted me that the problem with the tire pressure was exactly the same as before the new tire was put on. Really terrible that they would lie and try to scam money out of me. I wonder how may unsuspecting people have had repairs done that they did not need. read more

my Honda Pilot brake pedal was vibrating, the brake was pulsating upon breaking. i brought the car to big O tires at Concord. They said that the brake pads and the rotor need to be changed for the front wheels. i paid 690 $ for the set After only 3 months of driving around 4000 miles, the same problem returned. The car is pulsating now upon braking. i am planning to take it back to them and see what they will say regarding the bad brake body parts that they installed. read more

I've found at least 5 (and counting) reviews that express having issues with horrible service and work performance on their vehicles. They also tried to up sale by "misdiagnosing" an issue with my vehicle. Why aren't these people being held accountable??? I called in advance to get a tire, he told me it was in stock to find out once i arrived that they didn't even have the tire in stock and gave me a wrong price ! First off, let me start by saying Mike was the only positive experience out of this entire interaction with this big O. I showed up early morning because I got a flat tire on the freeway. Mike helped me with great customer service informed me that unfortunate they did not have a tire in stock. They would have to order it. I let Mike know that unfortunately I was running late for a meeting and he offered to have the tech put my spare on for me. The technician had an extreme amount of difficulty lowering my tire so much show that they had to use my tools to lower my tire and then try to give me my truck back with a tire still dangling down. I had to tell him that that's not right, it needs to be lifted if I drive it like that it could bounce out and cause a lot of damage to my vehicle. It took two people to get my tire back up.The next day I took my truck to the Toyota dealership where they informed me mounting the tire underneath the vehicle is not the right thing to do. This causes damage to the face of the rim which you can see in the photos provided. I told him not to do anything and I would have the conversation with big O I think call big O where I was told come back the next day and the manager would review it with me. Keep in mind I live in another city and have to cross the bridge so this isn't an inexpensive trip when I showed up the next day I was informed that no manager was here today and they're not sure why I was told that but luckily Mike was there and once again provided me with great customer service took photos of my situation documented and notated everything and apologize for the experience since said don't worry we'll take care of this only for close to two weeks to pass for me to be told that because they didn't charge me for the service that they wouldn't repair anything that the damage caused my vehicle was my own responsibility to repair. I offered to pay to have the tire mounted. I offered to buy a tire. Had they had one in stock I do all my business with big O and they damaged my vehicle and tell me oh well you're on your own.. This is an extremely upsetting situation. I even offered to spend more money at their location purchasing brand new rims and tires for the entire vehicle. If they could give me it's reasonable discount I've made a call into corporate and have received no call. I was also told that the district manager would call me and explain all this to me which they did not and still have received no call as an individual that works in customer service and someone who trains on customer experience. This is definitely not the way to grow retain business my only advice to anyone reading. This is pick another location to purchase your tires. Brought my truck in for an alignment. When I received the vehicle back the steering wheel was way off center and pulling hard. I brought the vehicle back and was told by one of the advisors my steering box needs to be replaced and they would not straighten out my steering wheel even though they offer a 1 year warranty. I was ripped off for $200.00. In addition they did not add grease to all of my bushings as requested they only did the upper control arm joint. I took my vehicle to Les Schwab tire center and they aligned my truck right the first time. My truck now drives straight as an arrow and Les Schwab told me my steering box was completely fine. This is my second time using Big O Tires on Concord Ave. and both times I've been completely happy with the service from the first phone call to driving away with new tires. The service advisor who helped me this time was Andy and he was phenomenal. He was easy to talk to and located my tires nearby and had them dropped at the store promptly. He answered all of my questions and gave me a good price on my tires. I left impressed with his expertise and customer service. I came to have my flat tire fixed. After fixing, my car was vibrating while driving on the free way which never happened before. I called them and was told to bring the car back. I brought my car back in the afternoon of the same day, they checked the tires and said their job was to fix the flat tire and they didn't do anything wrong. I told them but my car never vibrated before until after leave their shop. They, 3 different men, said they did correctly, and one of them even asked me to check their camera. I left and brought my car to American's tire the next day. It took them less than 5 minutes to fix the problem with was to measure and balance the tires and they did it for free. The guys at Big O Tire were mad at me when I told them that my car never vibrated before. I wonder how could they keep their business with this level of service and experience. read more

I had 4 tires mounted and installed at this shop. Within a week one tire started loosing air due to valve stems not being replaced during the install. When I went back to the shop and approached the manager about the poor installation, he physically threatened me, and told me my business was not welcomed at their shop. I reported him to Corporate. The crew at this location is not fit or mentally capable to fix a bicycle, definitely not your car. read more

The manager was very rude and told us that she had to buy a brand new tire and he couldn't patch the tire that was on her car. Totally tried to upsell her. While out for an early dinner with friends, I somehow got a screw in my tire. Searched for the closet place and we located this shop. The staff were super helpful and fast. "Samantha" helped me and was super sweet and professional. 30 mins, she had my tire repaired and had us on our way. This morning I went to my car and it had a flat front tire. I cancelled my Dr appointment, I took the spare out and replaced the flat, then called Big O to get the flat fixed or replaced. My past go-to Big O in Pleasant Hill was backed up on Monday and said I would have to leave the car 6 hours! So I called the Concord location, and they said about 60-90 minutes, and could fit me in. They were polite, to the point, and knew what to do, with no BS or up selling. Because the damaged tire was a Big O brand tire ( I think they might be Cooper Tires, brand labeled?) the repair was no charge and it took about an hour to get out, happy. With Big O tires, you also get free tire rotations, which is important especially for front drive vehicles like Honda Accords, because it is common on those to create negative camber angles and uneven wear pretty fast on the rear 2 tires. I used to have Yokohama performance tires, and they became so uneven, the car started to shake before the tire blew out. So try Big O and their tires and service here, they made me happy after a bummer start of a day! read more

I've used this shop many times. I find it convenient that I can get an oil change AND a tire rotation, which you can't do at the drive-thru places. I've also had them do alignments, a brake job, and of course bought tires. Lately, I have noticed a disturbing tendency to up-sell. Some recent gems include: you need new struts (I tell him I had them replaced a year ago, he says but it says "Honda" on the struts so they are OE ... not if the old ones were replaced with Honda parts, genius); and, your coolant is low, but we can't top it up, it has to be changed (wtaf is THAT nonsense?!?) But here's the kicker. After my most recent visit (oil change, tire rotation) the car started acting like there was a vacuum leak. Lacked power, almost couldn't make it up steep hills, ran rough, was super noisy under hard acceleration. My regular mechanic found that the AIR FILTER BOX HAD NOT BEEN RECONNECTED AFTER BIG O CHECKED THE AIR FILTER. Needless to say this is sloppy and inexcusable. Like, don't tell me I need several hundred dollars of work that I don't need and then utterly fail to do something that simple, which causes me great inconvenience! Good thing I didn't ask them to diagnose the problem, they probably would have told me I needed to replace the intake manifold... Bye bye, Big O read more

I had an appointment at 9. For an oil change and brake check. When scheduling I indicated I would stay and wait for my car. My car didn't get taken in until 11. Not sure why I had the option of a 9am appointment if they didn't have space for me until 11. Also, if that was the case, communication of the 2 hour minimum wait would have been appreciated since there is no bathrooms at this location either. I was anticipated an hour, tops 90 minutes. But two hours to just get it in and begin the work. Also no tire rotation and they let me leave with low brake fluid and coolant. How is that allowed? Calling to talk to a manager immediately! I went for a brake safety check and was told oh sorry can't help you and made you wait 2 hours and 30 minutes. Update: spoke to an assistant manager who gave me a little more explanation and detail but without knowing the levels or numbers of my tires and my fluids she can't be sure if the service provided/not was correct. And since no numbers were written on my service sheet, no way of telling unless I bring it back in. read more

Big O is kind of like Walmart. You will get good prices, but don't expect good service. I've never had an easy time there, but when you need a deal, they have them on Groupon or in their sales. I had low tire pressure on my car and realized it was a slow leak in one of my rear tires. I had thought that is was a small hole, as it turned out, it was really a tear on the inside of wheel well. I had to see if they had that actually size on hand, but they had to order one from a different store since it wasn't on hand. I was lucky enough that that did not have to purchase an additional 2nd tire since my tread was still good. They replaced my wheel with a "spare doughnut" until it was shipped to their location. The turn around was less than 24 hours and I was able to have the tire replaced and I was back on the road and won't have to worry about getting a flat. Personable and friendly service writers and mechanics made it an easy transition to have tire replaced. Hopefully won't be back soon but if there is a tire issue,; I can rely on this location to help with my car tire needs. read more
