Huge shout out to Big O Tires for saving the day today! I met friends for a hike in Oakland and my tire pressure monitor altered me about a tire with low pressure on the drive home. I drove over to Big O Tires and they were able to fit me in! The wait was only an hour which I appreciated since I had my dogs with me. $50, walk-in service, short wait time -- great experience overall!! read more

I think Andy and the team provided a solid assessment of what I needed done on my car. It was hard to make the decision to purchase the better tires for my car and to change all four instead of the two I initially thought. But I did my research and for the sake of my car to drive well and be aligned, I went ahead and paid for the nicer tires. I think as a woman you have to advocate for yourself and stick to your budget if money is tight. Andy let me know what was the 'need to haves' and 'nice to haves' so I can move forward with making an informed decision. Very professional and responsible team. read more

More like "big hold tires". Prepare to wait and be transferred around if you need anything via phone. Nothing like waiting ten minutes just to be told "can't you just do that yourself"? Customer service at its finest. read more

I thought Big O was only for tires, but I found out that it's even better than the dealer. My a/c was out and I went to the dealer. They charged me $100 to tell me that it would be $900 to fix. Big O did it for half the price - parts and labor. They are honest and get the job done. From now on, I'll be going to Big O first when I need something fixed on my car. I'm also ready to get some new tires too. In an industry where ripoffs are common, it's great to know someone is honest and can be trusted. I'm a customer for life now. read more

I had my car towed to this shop for a nail in the middle of my tire and a wasted hour later they told me I needed a $450 new tire. I'm not having it because I wasn't born yesterday. I drove on my flat tire literally a 1/2 block away and the guys there FIXEd my tire in 10 minutes for $50. Note: If there is a nail or whatever in the tread of your tires it can be fixed. Do not let them try to see you a new tire. The dude was nice but I think it was one of the managers who tried To up sell me. I don't review much but this operation is Shady. Waste of time. Drive 1/2 block away to the other tire shop and see what they say first. The other shop is on the side street across the street. Don't waste your time with the Big O dirt bags. read more

Avoid this place at all costs. I've taken my car for an oil change a few times and bought tires here. After my last experience, I'm never going back. They changed their warranty on their tires to not include flats or bubbles, because "the city isn't fixing potholes". This would be okay, except they changed this after the warranty was in place on the tires they already installed in my car when I came back with bubbles. They forgot to put my wheel lock back in my car after I paid for these new tires that were supposed to be under warranty, didn't realize until hours later, creating another trip for me to go back to pick it up. Not a huge deal, until I realized the other issues with that visit. The splash cover under my car came off while I was driving, because they didn't screw it in properly. They barely attached at all, only one screw held it in at the top. When I took it in to get it re-attached, they kept the car for ten minutes and gave it back, assuring me the cover was properly secured. I look in my trunk when I get home and the splash guard is still there. They held my car, told me they did work on it, and completely lied. I don't know how this place is still operating. I wouldn't be surprised if they lie about the oil changes they provide, or their other services for that matter. The management at this store is irresponsible and negligent. I've never been so blatantly disrespected by a business. read more

Earl was very helpful. Work was performed on time. The warranty was explained very well.

Was there from 10:26am to 4:58 pm for a front end alignment. I was originally told it would take a little over 2 hours. Was told my work was complicated but didn't realize I heard him tell another customer they were short handed. I don't live near in the area so I had no choice but to sit there for 7 hours. Never again read more

Marena Bryant and Marcus were amazing in helping me get a new spare. Marena was very attentive and provided the best customer service I've received when buying tires. So warm, kind and helpful. She explained every part of the process and gave perfect estimates on timing. My Pirelli run flat had 3 nails in it . I walked down to Rainbow donuts on University and picked up a dozen to thank them. I also tipped the guy who actually changed my tire $40 (it was only $230 for my new tire). Gracias carnal! Big O Tires - New wheel and little wait time...I will be back! - Tires Near Me - Berkeley, California

John Cooks was great! Excellent customer Services! Thıs place gave me a great deal and was affordable.

These guys are super helpful! I had a coupon and they were easy to work with to make sure it was applied. Service time for two new tires wasn't too long considering they were really busy when we came. Always busy on a Saturday but they work hard and get things done. Within a 4 hour window my son's car was ready for pick up. I have new coupons in the mail so I will take my car there to get my brakes done. read more

Scheduled a tire rotation online and had the request approved by their team (appointments are reviewed first before you get a confirmation). Anyway showed up for my appointment today and was told they wouldn't honor the service because they're "new guy messed up and scheduled the service" when apparently they don't schedule tire rotations. Super disappointing because the tires I purchased from them were supposed to come with free rotations and nobody told me that you're apparently just supposed to roll up with no appointment and how they accommodate you. Also hilariously when I bought my tires 4 months ago, they had 3.5 stars on yelp. Now they're down to 2.5. Something ain't right at this place. read more

Brought my car in for rear brakes ($900) and was told my tires couldn't be rotated because they were too old (really lo mileage on them tried to upsell me) Breaks took 2 days but they did an ok job. I would go to a different shop in the future and buy tires at Costco! I saw that they had a 6 month interest free deal if you take out a credit card with them. Absolutely do not do that!!! Comenity Bank is trying anyway possible to add fees. I have been trying to pay off the total balance and close the account before the end and have encountered rude service and little to no help. read more

This is a very poorly run shop. First, they don't seem to have any ability to keep appointment times. I arrived on-time and it took them 3 hours to change 2 tires. Second, their "techs" are not competent. They failed to balance the tires correctly, causing my car to vibrate severely at highway speeds. Last of all, when you confront them on the issues, they make no particular effort to prioritize resolution. They don't seem to see any issue with a tire change requiring multiple trips and the customer having to wait around 5 hours. I went across the street to Orozco's tires and he fixed the issue in less than 15 minutes, and charged half the price. If you're in the area, go with Orozco and stay away from these Big-O clowns. read more

Wasted a whole days wages on this location. I was Told the tires are going to be at that location at 1:00. Should only take an hour and a half. Now I'm being told over 3 hours. This place just cost me a lot of money. read more

I made an appointment for an oil change 3 days ago. I told them a 2017 Mini Cooper. The clerk told me the filter would be ordered and available when I arrive. I have been here more than 2 hours. Filter does not get ordered until you arrive for appointment. That took 90 minutes. The clerk at the desk is rude and il mannered. Bring your car elsewhere for service. read more

I had to take my car here to get a new tire, as I got a flat. Worst part was that the tire was a month old. Before driving to the shop, I took out all valuables from the car. Since I didn't have an appointment, I was quoted that it would be done in several hours, since they were busy This was fine, since they would call when it was ready and I needed to have it fixed. After several hours, it was ready and I came back to the shop to pick up my car. After paying for the new tire, I entered my car. I noticed that the middle bin in the front was messy, not how I left it. I looked into the glove compartment and noticed that things were moved around. I looked in the middle compartment of the car, and the same. Someone from the shop went through the compartments looking for things. How unprofessional. There is no need to go looking for things in the compartments. Good thing I took out the all the valuable from the car. After this experience, I am not sure if I will come back again. Only if it is in dire need. read more

An honest and very professional staff and professional service. My son needed to buy tires for his Jeep. After researching, he picked Big O over an online vendor, because of the price match policy. He went for a larger profile by 2" and was assured the tires would fit. Yes! They threw in a synthetic oil change and gave the Jeep a through inspection. The technician found problem with the suspension, which my son kinda of knew. Received a quote to fix the issue and the technician said if he purchased the parts at a lower price, they would still install them only for the labor. Of course, no guarantee on the parts Shined up the tires and the rims and my kid's whip is sick and mean! read more

I wrote a wonderful review ranting and raving about the services I received along with the superb customer I received by John and the other gentleman. I patronized this establishment on 2/19/24 to replace 4 tires on my car. I would not go back to this store for the following reasons having to do with the sales process rather than the installation: 1. Original quote was padded with a $160 protection plan that I did not request. Only after several inquiries was it removed. 2. Rebate from Michelin was misrepresented and misquoted. I found out the day after when I attempted to redeem the rebate. read more

I called in to get my tire changed out due to a flat. The guy who answered the phone was kurt, and not very friendly. When I came in to get serviced the guy who helped me was courteous, informative and gave good customer service. When I checked out, I got another fellow who was not very friendly, and it seemed as though we were an annoyance to him for giving this establishment business. I wonder if it was the same guy who answered my initial phone call. They also rummaged through the glove box and center panel because things were jostled about and not in their proper place. I'm guessing they were looking for anything of value to steal. A tire change doesn't require any reason to go out of your way and look through my stuff. read more

I've been here twice now, and this place has abysmal service. Came here at 1pm for an oil change. They told me it would take 2-3 hours. I checked in 3 hours later to see why my car hasn't moved. It turned out they didn't even have my car in the system for an oil change. Had to wait 2-3 hours longer. Additionally, most of the representatives are too busy answering phones and talking to each other to actually pay appropriate attention to customers that are in front of them. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Furthermore, this place is not very hospitable to guests. The sitting room was extremely cold because they would not close the front door and left it continuously ajar. Sure they have a coffee maker for guests, but no coffee. I really don't care for small amenities like coffee, but please keep up with your store. The trash is overflowing in the trash receptacle, and what's the point of having a coffee maker if you aren't going to keep it stocked? read more

Big O in Berkeley fixed my car problem in one day. The 2 guys in the office were courteous and efficient. The technician fixed my problem expertly. I will come to Berkeley even though I live in Martinez. I appreciate the expert courtesy and kindness I received when my car needed a big job fix. This was a big job and they made it happen. Horrible place. Literally left me waiting 2 hours and did nothing to my vehicle and I ultimately had to leave

Nothing freaks you out like driving a deflating tire on the freeway. Brought my car to the pros at Big O after work. Admittedly, I expected a long wait. Even the line at the counter took some time. Marcus helped me. He informed me it'll take 2 hours, including queue. I assured him it'll be fine and hunkered down in the waiting room. I was waiting for about an hour and twenty minutes. They bumped me to the front of the line because I was waiting on site. I was worried about my device running out of juice but I still had half left. Thank you for the excellent service! I understood that this location has gotten crazy busy because of the closing of the MacArthur store. You can see the constant shuffling of cars with the limited amount of parking. read more

This repair couldn't have been easier. My car was ready on time and the experience couldn't have been better. The manager named Early was pleasant, helpful and a pleasure to work with. The staff was very friendly and responsive. I needed 4 tires for my Tesla that came in same day and I was able to get my tires that afternoon. They were respectful and informative and didn't push extra services. I found them to be honest. Getting EV tires at Big O instead of Tesla saved me $600. They even said they'd put on new windshield wipers if I bring them in at no charge. read more

Jarrell was kind, informative and helpful in my process of confirming the need to replace tires, purchasing, and follow-ups. John Cooks was very informative customer service was exceptional. I would highly recommend going to be Big O in berkeley.

Heed my WARNING!!! DO NOT leave your car, keep a sharp eye on the work being done. Took my car in for a slow leak(purchased 4 Defenders there approx 11mos ago). Come back they give me a list of "inspected" points on my car, that I didn't even ask for. Two days later, a rim pops off as I'm getting on the freeway, my cat is making noises that are all associated with "the inspection". Will never go there again! read more

I have never left a poor review before, and I hate to complain, but when my concerns were detailed in the evaluation form I received from the vendor, and no response after two months, I decided to warn others. I made 3;00 PM appointment. Called to see if earlier was possible, yes. Came in at 2:20 and did not leave until after 5:00. I had my local mechanic of 20+ years road test prior, the car wasn't pulling but I had hit two large potholes so decided time for an alignment. Was told upon check in it would be an hour, 90 minutes max. After 2 hours waiting I asked what was going on? Told "oh it was pulling really hard" and when I questioned that I was then told, "Well after we fixed it it started pulling really hard so we had to fix what we did". No one came and told me while waiting about the issue, or why it was taking over 2 & 1/2 hours. Then the excuse was that "we had a police cruiser come" That was AFTER I was there for two hours. Yet, I was advised to buy new tires 3 times. My tires are less than 20k miles. I understand you do not make any money on a $129 alignment, but even after paying, my receipt did not have an alignment report providing a pre-adjustment & post-adjustment reading. I did not feel assured the job was done properly. Sure enough, I had my local trusted mechanic check it out and the steering was way off, worse than ever! I found an independent shop that was highly recommended by more than one independent mechanic. Lessen leaned but I paid for it so you won't have to! And yes, I brought up all these issues before leaving the business that day. read more

Update - I appreciate Mike D, the owner, reaching out to me immediately after I posted the review below. Mike, I will get in touch with you next. Over the past 10-15 years I have purchased several sets of tires, and gotten rotations and alignments at this Big O store. I recently went in for a rotation and, was provided with an unsolicited quote for $2,900 of suspension-related work. I took my car to my regular repair shop and they told me that with the exception of replacement of an oil pressure sender (a $76 part) NONE of the quoted work needed doing. Among other things the Big O quote referenced a broken strut - that isn't broken. My shop told me I'm their second customer that's recently had this happen. Is it one or two bad apples, perhaps running some sort of scam? Is it more systemic? I don't know, but either way - I will be in touch with the Better Business Bureau and I won't be going back to Big O. read more

John and the team at this location were very helpful and nice. They were able to procure the tires I wanted with a quick turn around time.
