If I could leave a 0 star I would! Untrustworthy, dishonest, unfair, combative-all traits regarding this place!! If you want a groomer who makes up her prices based off her mood for the day ( pricing posted no where mind you to agree the gouge) go to Joy at Big Moose! I've brought my 32 pound goldendoodle there for a years but took a break needing the convenience with a new baby at home. Before I was noticing her pricing was always all over the place- no consistency for the same service just months apart. $100 to $140 to $150- today was a shocking $225.00 for a shave and wash- INSANE. Clearly annoyed I went someone-where else 3xs, she told me I was now a new customer and these were the new customer prices- at the same time asking me where I went .... clearly the root of the problem, her ego. I shared my shock with $225.00, for what, that doesn't seem fair ??!! You shaved him- no pampering here. No warning me of this insane increase, no courtesy call telling me this would almost $100 more. He was big and fluffy yes, but I told her that on the phone and who cares you shaved him down anyway, your not brushing him out to save his length. It's irresponsible business practices. Horrifying Experience!!! I've taken my big fluffy mess Sandor a male Pomsky to BIG MOOSE a few times before and never had any issues besides for ur normal complaints in the other comments. (dogs barking uncontrollably locked in small cages!) I called Joy (owner) to schedule a grooming for Sandor right before Memorial Day weekend 2023. When I dropped him off and she asked "so what are we doing today?" I said, "same as usual needs his normal wash, nails trimmed, and a nice haircut." Joy replied "we could shave him." I told her "ABSOLUTELY NOT, DONT SHAVE MY DOG, I've read and been told by my vet not to shave a double coated dog unless it's for medical reasons!" "Ok, we'll give him a nice cut" says Joy As normal I leave Sandor n go back a few hours later when I get the call to pick my little guy up. So I walk into BIG MOOSE GROOMING and I was in shock!!! Literally for the first time I was at a loss for words. SHE SHAVED MY DOG!!! The one thing I told them NOT TO DO they decided to do! I couldn't even think right to argue I already had money in hand left it on the counter grabbed Sandor n stormed out! After the long weekend enjoying time with family n friends I was still bothered n extremely disappointed they couldn't follow simple instructions! I called Joy that Tuesday and vented my concerns n feelings about what they did without my consent. Her response was defensive n told me she does this all the time n wouldn't be in business if the hair didn't grow back! (I guess my old groomer knows more about dogs than my Vet!). Didn't offer any refund either! (Like she did for Paul in one of the previous comment) A few reasons why I'm writing this a year after the fact -Wanted to see if n how his hair would grow (it did but not the same) WISH I could leave ZERO Stars but unfortunately yelp doesn't allow it!!! read more

Brought my dog here about three times. Each time it was nearly impossible to hear or give instructions about the cut over the dogs barking. A few things about how the business was run bothered me to the extent that I no longer come here. I was told of a price increase at the very last minute when picking my dog up. No one ever answers the phone no matter what time of day it is. You have to wait for a return phone call. There was an issue when I needed to pick up my dog early, I tried to make a call to alert them, they never answered. The dogs are kept in kennels near the front door. This adds to the stress of everything along with keeping the noise level high. The owner does not have a client-friendly attitude. It's her way or not at all. read more

I brought my Chow here for a cut. Specifically told the owner we did not want her shaved. When picked up she was shaved and we were horrified. We were told her hair was matted and they took it upon themselves to shave her without notifying us. I brushed her every day and never had a problem with matted hair. Joy did refund our money when I went back the next day but told us she always shaves double coated dogs. Our vet informed us no licensed groomer would ever shave down a Chow. Joy did apologize but I do not recommend this groomer to anyone with a dog that has a double coat. The hair does not always grow back the same when shaved and is not good for the dogs skin. read more

This place is tiny and Grungy. Not something you want to see when dropping off your pet. Dogs are left in crates near the front door the place is tiny so it's just loud ear piercing barking of those poor dogs. No people skills here and very poor quality. As they say, great things come in small packages! This tiny, clean grooming business has the kindest owner, Joy. She has been grooming my feisty rescue for almost 6 years. Sadie always comes home groomed as I've requested, smelling great with nails clipped. I appreciate the courtesy phone call telling me that Sadie is ready or will be ready within a certain amount of time so she's not there any longer than she has to be. The second I walked in I had a bad feeling and should have listened to my gut. it is so loud and hectic it gave me anxiety - I can't imagine how the dogs feel being grooomed in the middle of the room with all the barking. They put him in a cage when I first arrived which I did not like and he was in a cage upon pick up. He was not himself afterward and he's usually very happy after hair cuts. Best grooming place around! I have been going to them forever! They know what they're doing and they are very careful and respectful to your pets. They also do a fantastic job with grooming, because I went to the new one in town one time and they charged extra because they said my dog was in being good but they barely did anything to her(but they are closed now). The fact that this place still remains open says a lot because it is a very trusted grooming place. The people who work here build a special relationship with you and your pet. I highly recommend this place because they are highly experienced. read more

Called and made an appointment for Saturday for my American bulldog. It was a excellent experience. I know that their are two bad reviews on Yelp and I decided to give joy a chance because of the other five reviews that were excellent. I was not disappointed in doing so as my dog came out clean and happy. I will be using her from now on for all my grooming needs. Very passionate about service and easy to deal with. I suspect that the two bad reviews were of owners who had dogs with fleas or maybe bad temperaments. read more

Horrible. Would not recommend to anyone both my girlfriend and our dog literally cried the entire time way home after leaving here! He came back dirty and botched so uneven and was shaking when we picked him up had dirt on his face and whiskers he is usually SO happy after the groomer. Bad vibes in this place girlfriend said all the dogs were howling and barking under severe stress when she dropped him off. So sad and they don't ask for record's upon drop off. Unsanitary and very rude service. Originally was told 2 hours upon booking then 3 hours on drop off.. when we called to see when he would be ready for pickup as he was scared When we dropped him off and had plans we were told it could take up to four hours she then said she hadn't even started him 45 minutes after dropping him off and said we could come pick him up if we wanted my girlfriend said yes immediately and then the woman she said oh I actually just started him I'll make sure he's done in 45 minutes? why lie? So you could do a botched rush job And charge $85 for a 23 pound dog? We know other people who come here and you guys charge 60 and have much bigger dogs. You totally ripped us off because you were annoyed super unprofessional we gave her $100 thanked her as she was rushing our scared dog out of the crate and will never be back and will tell everybody we know to never go here. Such a shame. Shame on you guys! Never left a bad review ever but if you care about your dog go elsewhere . I had a bad experience here. Brought my toy poodle in and asked for a slight haircut. when picking her up she was completely shaved. They said she had some mats. I never received the courtesy of a call to let me know what they were doing. I would never have agreed to a completely shaved down dog in the middle of the winter and would have picked her up. Big Moose...wrong name, clearly doesn't have the room for large breed dogs in this facility. My Great Dane walked in healthy and happy, walked right in to the tub for his bath, and when I picked him up he left limping and lame on his rear leg. All the owner could say was "nothing happened"... she had him out back on a cold slate patio on a rainy/drizzly cool April day because she doesn't have room for a large breed dog in her shop. Who knows what happened to him...I never will...ZERO accountability! Would NEVER recomend this place EVER! One star is too much to give her. read more
