I thought the prices are supposed to be cheaper here and regular stores. But honestly haven't found anything that's cheaper.

Horrible experience. The absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced…read more My 6 year old son wanted to pay for his sword. He wanted to practice paying. So, the total came out to $3 and some change. I got the change together for him but I had to count some it out. The cashier very aggressively exited her register stomped her way to the next register that had an intercom on it. She then proceeded to make an announcement to the entire store to "Please have your payment method ready to go as it makes the process faster." I DID have my payment ready, it was cash. I then asked her if that announcement was made directly at me? Of course I know it was but she denied it. It took me and my son about 30 seconds to pay, not 30 minutes. I told her that was extremely rude and completely unnecessary aggressive behavior. I think it was racially motivated. The person in front of me had about 45 Xmas decorations and she was being very talkative to him. Will never be back here again.

One of my guilty pleasures is visiting bargain stores to see the typically hilariously bad products…read moreavailable there because, well, no sane store would try to sell them. With this in mind, I decided to stop in. While I was able to find some comically strange items, by and large, items for sale were actual, recognizable brand names! Even some that I wasn't familiar with turned out to be far better than expected, which was really surprising. What else was REALLY surprising about this location is that it, unlike all other Dollar Tree locations I've visited, is very large, VERY clean, very well-stocked, very well organized, and has a wider variety. Don't let the unkempt and run-down strip mall it's in fool you; the inside is actually really nice. What started as a "Let's see what terrible things we can find here" turned into "Wow, how is all of this stuff available at such great prices?". I now love coming here as it is a supremely great place to get snacks and even some regular food items. Their "Snack Zone" is mighty impressive, and is a far better place to get snacks than any convenience store I've ever visited (and is far cheaper, too). I was also super happy to find a HUGE mug to use as a shaving mug. I'd not been able to find anything suitable anywhere else. Beverages are also great to get here. Ever heard of Minute Maid "Aquas Frescas"? I hadn't until I visited the store, and the hibiscus variety is AWESOME. I was also really happy to find a refrigerated beverage section with Bang and other brand energy drinks for $1.25 each, far cheaper than the exact same items from Fred Meyer across the street. Variety does change out regularly, so if you find something you like, it's probably best to stock up while they have it. Oh, do you need mylar helium balloons? They have a huge selection here. Need a luminous pineapple (who doesn't)? They have those, too. Who can get along without "balloon inflation gauges?" I'd been missing those all my life, and finally got a set here (just kidding...I didn't actually but them). Finally, the employees there are extremely helpful, cheerful, and friendly.

Very cute clothes that are priced certainly 60% of what they'd sell in retail. Cute jewelry as well. I got my Graduation dinner dress here. The reviews stating that the store wasn't open when they popped in have to realize the store is open based on customer demand. If you come in during January when people are still recovering from overspending on Christmas, it's not going to be open as late as if everyone's tax returns just hit. The store is almost always open before 4. Just come in then. Small businesses can't pay employees during hours where people are not in the store, that's silly. Melissa is amazing, if you write a review over a minor inconvenience that stays on the businesses track record forever.

Some of the items are priced like new items. $22 for a small plain white shelf I could get at Target. $50 for some shelves I could get on Amazon. I wouldn't pay like new prices for used, sorry. They have antiques as well but also priced very high, is it worth it? Maybe to someone. Also it has a bit of a strange smell, I was getting a bit nauseous. On the bright side the shop is organized and they have a wide variety of items but it wasnt for me.

Let's just say, I never leave this store empty-handed due to their huge inventory and great prices. This giant thrift store is housed in a former Albertsons if that gives you an idea of scale. There are multiple departments, and row upon row upon row of treasures waiting to be discovered. Given Retails rotational discounts, visitors never really know what they're going to find here. New products are coming in daily, and different colored tags are discounted daily as well. The store has a robust jewelry section with glass cases filled with rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings. I've found so many wonderful items for both myself, and to give as gifts. Because the inventory is based on donated goods, there is always a wide variety of items available to purchase. The pet department is Retails best-kept secret. The store is managed by the Humane Society of Southwest Washington, so as you can imagine, there are tons of great buys for the pets in your life. I come here for cheap dog toys for my pug to tear apart, water and food bowls, pet carriers, etc. I've found some really incredible deals here. Retails has an extensive clothing department that takes up at least 40% of the overall footprint of the store. Clothing is clean, well-displayed and organized, and priced to sell. On one of the discount days I was able to leave the store with a dozen pairs of pants for my husband for less than $30! What a deal! Seriously, if you haven't shopped Retails, RUN! You're bound to find something you just can't live without in this eclectic thrift shop. Be advised, however, sometimes the checkout line can get a little long. I believe many of the staff are volunteers, so they're doing their very best to keep things running smoothly.

Talk about nostalgia! I was in Washington looking for food recommendations when I was led to Smack…read moreTown. It was only after pulling into the mall that I realized it was inside the food court. Normally I would've tried to find something else, but to be honest, I wasn't mad about it. Surprisingly enough, Oregon's capitol city of Salem is smaller than I'd expected before making the move. There are a couple of what used to be thriving malls that have dwindled down to host small, lesser known businesses. I grew up in the 80s when malls were the social hub and all the rage. Walking inside, I could see the adaptation to today's consumers with remnants of days gone by. Poised right by the entrance is a K-Pop store and adjacent Anime Town. The little kids play area was just as obnoxious as I remember, all screams included. Upstairs was a bungee style trampoline for bigger kids wanting a little more thrill. There was a Hot Wheels vending machine and fresh fruit dessert stand featuring the ever popular Dubai chocolate over strawberries for a mere $18 (ouch!). Perhaps it was the season, but the parking lot was packed. It was nice to see some of the favs of my youth; PacSun, Vans, and Hot Topic, and FYE. There were also some cool shops I'd never heard of. We enjoyed our lunch and had to depart with little time to spend browsing, but I really want to come back. If there was a deterrent to be mentioned, it's the 8+% tax, a significant hit when you're used to zero state tax.
