This is a large establishment, thus giving it more inventory & variety. the store is clean & well maintained. while the staff you see is minimal, they are well schooled in their store & know the inventory & location precisely.
It always amazes me, some of the food finds I discover. Many are name brand, yet I have never seen them in a Publix: example Peperige Farms boxed crescent rolls filled with vanilla or chocolate cream, so very decadent. Another example is pure coconut oil, yes 1 ingredient, all sizes, the largest being 1 1/2 quarts for $9.90, if you find a match for half that price, I would be amazed.
I believe too many people underestimate & utelize Big Lots. Those of us that know the secrets of it's "BEST BUYS" are life time shoppers & savers.
Yup, I admit I can be a snob shopper. I am not proud of this, but their are 2 sides to every coin
My Gram, was a say shopper & taught me well, from the time I was just a pup.
First rule of thumb to saving money is ALWAYS know your prices! What looks good, isn't always a great financial buy at that location, unless you know your prices.
It's not just some food or condiment items. All items in the store are definately not for me, but some, sure stretch my dollar. Some items I go to Big Lots for are: cat litter, picture frames, small kitchen housewares ( after all these years I bought my first toaster, LOL), pet food & gear, shepra throws, electonic (phone, pads...) accessories, candles, garden products, Special Occasion items, paper products, garbage liners, disposable dinnerware ( like for picnic & pot lucks) & much more.
Give a larger store a try, you won't be dissapointed. The also have a loyalty program call Buzz club, that offers you some special offers & they do have weekly sales.
