Anyway, that's a pet peeve of mine. For me it's the Makeup and housewares! I've come away with some fantastic deals on high end makeup like Anastasia, Kat Von D and others. They've got fantastic prices on essential oils and diffusers and if you're into those paper masks that do good things for your skin, they have plenty of those too. House wares and tchockies are some of the best things there. You can find some amazing Coffee cups, paintings and other decor items there as well. I like that the flooring is original. I don't know if anyone from the family that opened the store is involved in it today, but it has a really eclectic blend of items. There is a lot of Guatemalan crafts as well as an array of pottery from different studios. The folk art crafts are really cool. All kinds of wooden statues of people, some of which are saints. The masks I took a picture of are also Guatemalan. They were so cool, but then, I love masks. There is also some antiques. I ended up not buying anything but it was fun to look.

I fell in love with this little shop on Tarpon Avenue in Tarpon Springs. They have a very nice selection of clothing, shoes, homemade soaps, lotions, hats and jewelry. I purchased an adorable wrap-around striped shirt. I should have tried it on the store but I did not. I tried it on when I got back to my friends house and it didn't fit quite right. I didn't have time to return it Sunday and the store was closed Mondays and that's the day I went home to Jacksonville. I called the store Tuesday and the owner was willing to work with me. I mailed the shirt to the store and she gave me a store credit that I could use online. That is exceptional customer service! Which was much appreciated as the shirt was $26! And I have no doubt that I'll find something cute online. Update: I found another piece that I loved on the FB page and it is in the mail to me now. Can't wait until it arrives! It appears that both my legs are the same height so I don't need lifts which is good to know. I bought new sneakers, flip flops, socks that have a right and left foot, and had an order submitted to have insoles made for my left foot. You will get the quarter back when you return the cart. Note: Sometimes they run out of helium, but there is a world wide shortage. Where else can you get helium balloons for a dollar?

I started searching furniture stores and couldn't find the seaside/coastal living style I wanted. Then, at 2:00 in the morning, I saw a commercial for Matter Bros. specializing in the Florida style. I saw the Tarpon location and went for it. That was six months ago. I have my family room, guest room, living and dining room completed! I can say that my American Drew Antigua wall unit is not only fantastic but was custom ordered to my liking with a price that blew the competition out of the water. My new 55" HDTV is a perfect fit. I have a new unique palm tree based dining table with a Key West style sideboard and mirror that complements perfectly. I ordered the dining chairs in a glistening sand color to balance. I also found a coastal style cocktail table that accents perfectly in the living room. I am close but not finished yet! As I was a designer in the 80s, I knew the business and also how aggressive some sales staffs could be. When I was greeted by Tina, I was skeptical to put it mildly. I didn't realize that not only did she give me room to breathe but she knew her business and was very personable. She was extremely helpful and performance emphasized excellence. She also made me feel that customer service was primary. I was given reasonable delivery dates, called by shipping in Ft Myers for confirmation and scheduled delivery, and assured by the delivery staff that they would do anything to make me happy. They even performed standard touch up right there. (Yes, you will have an occasional mark or two on your furniture no matter what the price. Get over yourself.) Since then, I had a minor concern that was addressed by Tina immediately. She has become a good friend and is now my "go to" person for anything concerning interior design and furniture. She is also the perfect person I would want to represent my company. I've read about others at other locations! Tom Matter was also most helpful during my shopping experience at Matter Bros. I do recommend this furniture store in Tarpon Springs.
