Roundup special
Richard F.

We were in the area and decided to stop. We needed to pick up a few things and especially get some Roundup for our weeds. They had a large variety of sizes and prices. You really have to shop to get thew best value. There was an employee, Ronnie, who really helped us get the best value.

INTRO: I'm a person that likes Walmart. the largest factor in that statement is that I'm a late-night person. I don't like my days to start before 1 o'clock in the afternoon and as long as I'm getting between 3 and 6 hours of sleep a day I'm pretty happy... If I get more great. Oh and as for my union not liking Walmart... Well, I welcome them starting their own 24 hours success story, as Sam Walton did. I would even transfer from what I do to what they create. THE GOLDEN RULES: I do have a few rules about Walmart though... First and foremost is that I never go to Walmart before 10 p.m. This is for a couple of reasons. The first being this is the time that the night crew comes on. These are the people that stock the shelves and they truly know where everything is and on the rare occasions they didn't, they knew who was working in which aisle and could tell me who I needed to speak to. The other reason is I do not like being stuck behind soccer moms or snowbirds... Third reason is purely comical... And it deals with the shoppers. CLIENTAL: Before I describe anything if you recall back to the days of driver's education in school when they told you to put your hand on the steering wheel at 10 and 2... That's the secret to a successful Walmart trip. Always keep it between 10 pm and 2 o'clock in the morning. especially on a Friday and Saturday night when the show really turned it up a notch. Who needs cable? I hav Walmart. WELL STOCKED: As far as stock goes, Walmart has pretty much something for everybody. I've noticed more than on just one occasion that they stopped carrying a product that I really enjoyed... but there's always something to get you by. END GAME: Over the years I've come to know managers and employees by name and they've always treated me extremely well. Their parking lots are well-lit they have cameras on at just about everything... And best of all their prices are very competitive my favorite part about Walmart is that they will honor their competitions sale prices and coupons.

Who would think my 1st outing.

Typical Walmart. Fairly clean. Always crowded. Employees are helpful. The gas station has good prices.

Hi Beverly! You can apply at their kiosk or go on Walmart.com. Also, the one in New Port Richey has limited hours (it's not a 24-hour store). I'll post more as I find out more. God bless you on your job search.

A Delicious Discovery: Authentic Mexican Gem in New Port Richey…read more This weekend, my husband Eriq and I headed up to our favorite Thai spot, only to find it closed. Hangry levels were rising fast, so we pivoted to a nearby Mexican grocery store and market that had been on my radar from glowing reviews. It delivered big time on authentic flavors, generous portions, and warm hospitality. Tucked at the back of the well-stocked Latin grocery store is a casual dining area where you order fresh-made Mexican classics. The menu offers plenty of traditional options and cool protein choices. One of the cooks kindly brought me a little sample cup of their pozole when I asked about it -- tender, falling-off-the-bone pork in a rich broth. Absolute perfection. (She also mentioned their menudo, but I politely passed on that one!) We decided on the tostadas, and wow -- for $13.99 you get three super-crispy house-made tortillas piled high with toppings. I went with two chicken and one steak (which was tender). The chicken was incredibly flavorful and melt-in-your-mouth tender from slow-cooking in spices. Fresh shredded lettuce, cilantro, crumbled cheese, a drizzle of crema, and slices of avocado on top made every bite fantastic. Eriq loved the al pastor version he tried and powered through all three. He also ordered a carnitas taco (which looked excellent, but he ran out of room!). The tortillas held up beautifully under all the toppings -- no crumbling disasters, which is rare and impressive. They brought out two house hot sauces (a smoky red and a vibrant green salsa) that were outstanding, plus ice-cold Mexican sodas made with real cane sugar. Service was friendly and attentive, with staff bringing food out promptly. The whole place felt genuinely authentic (we might have been the only non-Latino folks there, always a great sign), the grocery section was small but well stocked with staples, fresh meats and produce. If you're in the Holiday/NPR area and craving real-deal Mexican food at very reasonable prices, definitely stop in. We'll be back soon -- those tostadas are going to haunt my dreams in the best way possible.
