I never knew how incredible Salvation Army Thrift Stores are. I've been to many other thrift stores…read more& somehow missed Salvation Army. The stores are clean & the layout is great. They offer a bit of everything & the inventory turns over quickly. The furniture is all cleaned & many pieces look brand new. Do take the chairs & such for a test run. As, in all thrift stores, I found recliners that did not want to cooperate. I also saw a couch & loveseat that looked like it belonged in a designer showroom. I have learned 1 "big"lesson....don't go home to sleep on the idea of a purchase. I made that mistake & when I returned the next day, the item I wanted was gone! If you want it, buy it.....not the time for procrastination. Staff is very helpful and engaging. What's a girl to do? Live & learn, procrastination just isn't the way to live & prosper.

If they no longer want to have $1.00 merchandise, then they should change the name or open new stores with the merchandise over $1.00. It was easy to shop at the Dollar Tree before prices were raised because you knew everything was $1.00. Now you have to be careful, and look or ask for the price of items.

You no doing the same thing the same way over and over expecting different results...yeah i may be crazy according to Einstein (and others). I've been a fan of save-a-lot since moving to this are 6 yrs ago.Still am. But everyone has their issues: 1. Not a fan of customer "bating" (u no sales with very limited quantities that are gone quickly..but now u'r stuck in the store to spend money anyway. 2. They used to carry more cases of prune juice (yeah I'm part of that older group). NOW its 2 cases on the top shelf and that's it. I always buy in, more or less in bulk, and used to always buy 2 cases at a time. That's gone and of course no back stock. I suggest sales are done because its just never available and its shoved up on the top shelf which is just an added inconvenience...and its getting frustrating to the point of looking for alternative stores. Yes i do recognize I'm only 1 customer and i recognize businesses don't cater to the single customers' needs. And customer doesn't trump numbers.. 3. the 5 for five deals were absolutely the best. I always bought the chopped vegetable (bell peppers etc) but they were gone also.....it just may not be worth the hassle to drive to 2 different save-a-alots just to buy the things i need. I've ALWAYS like shopping here; but its quickly becoming pointless. I wanted to add an addendum comment. They do often have in stock the frozen chicken leg quarters. It's a really good price point and if I'm shopping there i always pickup 3 of 4 of these (i go thru a lot of poultry). However, this by itself isn't enough to boost the rating. It may not be worth it regardless to have to drive to multiple locations just to get the few things i shop for even when buying quantities. There are other retailers.

I think this one in particular has an older crowd as regulars leaving the more of the younger clothes for people my age. Usually the clothes are in disarray and in general the place is a bit of a mess. The employees just can't keep up and many of the customers are just plain slobs. I've never seen the employees on the floor, they are usually behind the counter or at the dressing rooms. I hate the fact that you can only take 8 items to try on, and that a 2 piece bathing suit counts as 2. What a pain! I do like being able to find name brand clothes and shoes at discount prices. I love a deal and if you have the time and patience you can usually find something at Ross.
