It's a real adventure in all sorts of ways, but like driving with your shirt off in summer, it can be liberating. I would steer clear of the dry goods, but have gotten some good candy and beverages. You never know what kind of stuff you will find amongst the other goods. The workers are all very nice and they are helpful to people in the community who are struggling. This store can be a fun little exploration. I try not to eat candy, but who can resist when you can get it four bars for a dollar??? That is where my mother-in-law gets her prescriptions. All of the people I have talked to there are friendly, helpful and prompt at completing my order. One of them suggested a generic to use in place of the brand name, and said "ask your doctor if he thinks it is OK". I saw a customer cry when the pharmacist told him how much his prescription was, and I wanted to tell him about Canada Drugs, but that is t a conversation I felt I should initiate since I was a stranger to him. For $30 you can't go wrong. I ended up picking up a single layered round cake, I believe it was roughly $15, and was surprised at how well it tasted. It was pretty moist but what really made an impression was the whipped icing. It made it not overly sweet which is why my daughter normally doesn't like cake. She actually wanted to save a piece to eat it later. You can also preorder custom cakes but there is always a good selection in the fridge when you're in a hurry.
