Shopped at Ollie's Bargain Outlet for Christmas presents that would have cost a fortune anywhere…read moreelse. I went there expecting to find they were sold out. They definitely weren't sold out and the items I wanted were in pristine condition and I paid approximately 1/3 of the price I saw them at other large brand name stores that same day. You can honestly believe you are getting a bargain at Ollie's. Check out the sale item there with other stores and you will find Ollie's has definitely cut the price more that half, sometimes as I found for Christmas by 2/3's of what I would have paid if not for them! As if that isn't enough to win us over their cashier lines move really fast there and they have the nicest cashiers.

When I attempted to leave the store, a metal pole that was zip-tied to the cart prevented the cart from being able to exit the doorway. I tipped the cart to allow the pole through the doorway and proceeded to my car. After unloading my purchases I returned the cart to the store again needing to tip it to get through the doorway. The shaved head female employee felt the need to publicly chastise me saying that carts we're not allowed out of the store. I said that I figured that that was the purpose of the Pole so she replied that if I knew that that I shouldn't have taken the cart from the store. I informed her that I was disabled and needed the cart to move my purchases to my car. Her recommendation was that I park my vehicle in the painted no parking fire lane and load my car there. I will never shop in this store again. If you are unable to make accommodations for a disabled patron based on ridiculous rules, not laws, but rules thought up by local management then you evidently don't need my business. I will stress that I returned the cart to its original location which did not impede any activities of the store at the time.

Then here's the racist behavior I'm finding throughout PRichey she rang up my goods against her will then before register printed the receipt she walked away left my bag and receipt on the machine and hollered from moving clothes behind the register and told me to I could take my receipt off the register and my purchase ..I WILL NOT BE TREATED LIKE THIS AGAIN...as my money is still Green even if my color is not white. IF YOU CAN TAKE MY MONEY YOU WILL TREAT ME WITH THE SAME COURTESY AND RESPECT AS A WHITE CUSTOMER. What this cashier did was not new ....this seems to be a Racist Stance that is being perpetrated on people of color. I have had exact or similar experiences in this city... I get the impression that it's acceptable and even considered acceptable to treat people of color in this manner. From the excuses for what she did, I heard from the store manager. It's as though they will not touch the items or bags of someone of color after they've touched it or they are being deliberately rude and disrespectful to people of color. I had to run into DG on the way to my daughter's birthday party for tape, because streamers and…read moreballoons and the desire to save myself from being the sole holder of the single tape dispenser at Grandma's. My son and I walked in, were greeted immediately by a woman with a genuinely kind smile, a little nod, and, "How are you two doing today?" Awesome. I went in for tape and, of course, found garden center items I HAD to have. My son also picked out a couple toys for baby cousins and a slime bucket for his sister's birthday we were on our way to celebrate. When I tried to check out, I had the same PIN issue I've had at a few retailers recently because of some odd activity on my account. Annoying but it happens. I was struggling HARD with this card. Obviously I was losing my mind with anxiety that other customers were piling up behind me and I had cold food waiting for me in the car to get it to its place. I needed to purchase and PAY with my card that is telling me on the phone is green lit with a positive and high enough balance to cover this. The cashier had one of the calmest tones I've ever heard, and she kept telling me to not worry, everything was fine, it was my turn in line just like everyone has their turn, did I wanna try my card as credit and scoot past the pin...she was trying everything she knew to do, I could tell. And she definitely knew what she was doing. She maintained composure the entire exchange and truly did calm me while I was fully tripping balls and going into panic mode. I can't remember the last time I had any remarkable encounter with another cashier in at least a very long time-I can't even remember. I need to find my receipt and give them a call to sing her praises. **Complete 180 and simply some general info on previous visits** Over the last 10 years living here, pulling up to this store has 95% of the time always been yuck. To be a chain store, I was surprised there was no one losing it about the state of the grounds, seemingly homeless people loitering at the door smoking and unfortunately asking for things, exorbitant amounts of general trash ALL OVER the parking lot. In the parking spots, just floating around, gathered on the walkway into the store...gross. The inside is always overfilled and cluttered but you can tell the employees DO make a marked effort, regularly, to keep things in as good of shape as they probably can. There's tons of clearance and overstock. Great for shoppers but it can be overwhelming. Love DG. The only "issue" I've had here at all has been the unkept property and loiterers. Ick, but not a dealbreaker for me considering its PRISTINE location in regards to some of my comings and goings that would force me to need a DG. Very nice employees. Especially the one I interacted with this morning.
