Nice "discount" store, but seems like Big Lots has become less discount and more like a nicer Dollar General with furniture in recent years. Stuff that used to be discounted is usually now more expensive than places like Walmart - food items, housewares, bath, etc. are mostly more expensive, with less selection. However, their furniture is often cheaper than major furniture stores, but sometimes the quality isn't there so buyer beware. That said, this location is very clean, well lit and easy to navigate with wide aisles. The checkouts can get backed up at times since they only have three registers and usually only one or two in use. Typically that's enough. Store is located at the back of a huge shopping center, with plenty of parking, but can be hard to get out of since there are only two exits from the center and only one of those with a traffic light that lets you turn left. It's a large store with patio furniture, bedroom, living room, and kitchen furniture, bedding, food, office supplies, etc. There is something for everyone. I like to buy bones for my dogs here because their prices are fair and they have rawhide free options. The staff is usually pretty friendly and helpful. They also off 20% discounts randomly throughout the year, which is a bonus. read more

This is the nicest Big Lots in the Charleston area. It offers furniture, household goods, groceries, beauty supplies, kitchenware, simple electronics, bedding, and seasonal items. It's organized and well stocked. I haven't been in this store in a while and they have rearranged it. The furniture department is now in the front and it seems to have expanded. Sometimes you can find great deals--some items are cheaper elsewhere. Clearance items are located on shelves near the restrooms. They have a rewards program--I don't come here often enough to take advantage of it so I'm not sure what the rewards are. The restroom looked clean but it seemed like urine. read more

I went to look at a love seat and found that the one I was interested in was out of stock with nothing scheduled in the next few months. I asked about purchasing the floor display. The manager said OK. Our sales person was so helpful. She took extra time to locate the electrical power supply from the storage room, then took an extension cord from inventory in order to make sure the recliner motors were operational. A 10% discount was applied since it was a floor display. She worked extra hard to make my experience purchasing this recliner the best furniture purchase ever. (I'm 66 YO). If this is the way that Big Lots treats all their customers... they are doing it right. Thanks for the great service read more

Discount prices SHOULD NOT equate to discount customer service! I dropped in to look for some inexpensive accent tables for a room in my home. I saw a set that I wanted to inquire about however the furniture sales person essentially told me ok, sat down at his computer and never returned...it took me 20 minutes to realize that he had basically blown me off!! He sat there talking with two women who seemed to be friends of his. I decided to talk to the manager on my way out "Erin M." When I asked if their policy was to leave the customer waiting unassisted or to call for another sales associate to help the customer, she just looked at me with a dear in the head lights look! She states " Well do you still need help?" I told her no, I'm not spending my money in here after the way that I was treated! WTH??? Awaiting the arrival of my "Pier 1" tables, they were more than willing to help me! read more

The cashier was texting when I got to the register. She then proceeded to tell me to grab my bags from the counter when I had no where to put them as I was still emptying my cart. Just went to here this morning. First I stood outside for 10 minutes waiting for them to open. Wanted a price for a memory foam mattress, couldn't give me a price so I had to carry it upfront to the register to get a price ! Then I wanted to buy a box spring and she said she couldn't get it from the back because she couldn't get a dolly!! Are you kidding me! This is the cleanest and most organized Big Lot's stores that I've ever been in. The merchandise is pretty typical of what all Big Lot's stores carry, but they actually have it stocked on the shelves and in departments in a organized manner. Instead of the typical overstock feel that most Big Lot's stores have this one has a more profession department store feel. We came to this Big Lot's looking for bargains on some outdoor stuff, unfortunately we didn't find what we needed; but we did find stuff to buy that we didn't even know we needed. We actually bought a grape slicer; that's right, you put a grape in it and squeeze down and your grape is quartered. I mean I never knew I needed a grape slicer, but there it was on the clearance rack and I just had to have it. Also we got some picture frames and cleaning stuff for the house. Staff at the checkout was friendly and efficient, unlike those at major retailers like Wally World. read more

This store is pretty clean for a Big Lots, and the staff were super friendly. Inexpensive items that never made to the popular page , but still useful. This store is the best organized and clean of all the area Big Lots. As a guy, it nice to see they have a decent selection of tools and garden supplies (not that I do yard work). They also have great prices on electronics, such as memory sticks, etc. Most of the items like android tablets are closeout items and outdated, but in good working order. You won't be cutting-edge, however you also won't be in the dark ages writing on papyrus. Good start for beginners who want to check out the technology without spending a fortune. I went for dog toys and they have a lot of nice ones for $2-3. I had bought a leash there for $3 and it's holding well. Great deals on furniture and delivery is available...a lot of Simmons brands. I recently bought a leather loveseat and recliner on sale for less than $800 at the Goose Creek store, but noticed they have the same furniture here as well. Bought some 10 roll paper products for a little less than $5 apiece. Purchased towels and pans here from the past and pleased with the quality... bargain prices on beach towels currently up near the front entrance. Love their rug selection from low to higher end..stylish designs, colors, and textures. Get pretty much anything in style here for your home and car without spending a fortune. read more

My wife purchased a recliner tonight. Rebecca assisted us after Eva held it for her after she called. I drive a sedan, but my wife really wanted it and we didn't know anyone available with a larger car, so Rebecca helped us fit it into my car. We had to take it out of the box and wedge the bottom part into my back seat. It was a struggle, but Rebecca was a great help. Great experience with everyone at the store. read more
